well after a wild 24 hours or so the Jacob trouba Saga in New York has finally come to a head he and his whole salary are headed to the ducks in exchange for 25-year-old left shot defenseman urul vakin and a fourth round pick now this situation has been wild since the summer basically remember when all those Red Wings trade rumors were coming up then again a couple weeks ago here when the Rangers started to slide the two names you were hearing the most were cder and trouba and then in the past day things really started to heat up on the trouba front Columbus was set to possibly be in the mix here of course trouba’s got that limited no trade would he be willing to wave or not then it was announced that despite being fully healthy he wouldn’t be in the Rangers lineup tonight for quote roster management reasons then it was wondered like okay if the Rangers can’t get this done are they going to put him on waivers which for a guy who signed a massive extension with the Rangers and was named their captain that would have been something but didn’t happen instead the Rangers were able to find a dance partner that trouba was okay with while also getting positive value in the trade and being able to move his full ticket now the Situation’s obviously been messy but in the end Chris jury and the Rangers brass they made out pretty good here vacan Nan a for first round pick you get that extra fourth and most importantly you get all that cap space in a year where you’re trying to compete for a Stanley Cup and for trouba I mean it’s pretty clear he didn’t want to leave New York but hey sunny California he’s got a young family Disneyland there a lot of worst places to live and to play rad kudas and Jacob trou on the same blue line is terrifying one year left after this one at 8 million for a team that’s rebuilding with a lot of young pieces again given how all over the place this got things seem to have turned out pretty well for both sides all things considered also wild stat that also makes TR of the third straight Ranger Captain to have been traded in season also not only were the Rangers completely able to alleviate the Barkley goodro and trouba contracts within less than 8 months of each other without having to buy them out or retain salary which is huge for them but how about two of the three California teams coming in clutch to help them out with that it signals a turning of the page for the Rangers especially now that they’re in their cup window you got to expect there to make a splash with their new cap space here maybe not a gigantic one cuz they still got a superstar goalie who needs a new deal soon but this sure feels like a watershed moment in Manhattan and that there’s definitely more to come Ranger fans oh boy this is going to be good what are your thoughts on this deal and who do you think is going to be the next Captain I mean fox has got to be the front runner right and Ducks fans I mean they were mentioning the rumors a little bit but kind of out of nowhere you guys got Jacob trouba now how do you feel about that this has been a wild situation to follow and you can’t help a wonder what’s next for the Rangers here thank you so much for watching I’ll see you in the next one you’re awesome
