in the January transfer window we will also be hearing from two Manchester United fans giving their opinions on Manchester United and tottenham’s season so far now I’m absolutely delighted to say that absolutely delighted to say that we are the only Spurs fan channel to be shortlisted in the sport podcast award 2025 so thank you so much for all of your incredible support um to vote for us it takes literally just seconds so please do help us out and we are very close now to 135,000 subscribers honestly that blows my mind every single time please do get involved in this podcast tell us how you are feeling as a Totten hbur fan right now tell us your thoughts on the five new win at Southampton at the weekend and most importantly tell us what the carabell cup what the League Cup means to you is this competition is winning this competition more important to you than a league position at the moment top four top six is it about a Champions League spot is it about Europa League spot or is it now about winning a trophy as a Tottenham hbur fan because it has been nearly 17 years it feels like a very very long time now as per usual I’ve got three very special guests with me uh actually they’re not even guests are they they’re regulars they’re the regulars the regular Bunch uh we’ve got Craig deerman back with us AKA Ben Ben Davis Craig how are you is I’ll tell as a compliment yeah yeah you’re all good Chris yeah yeah looking forward to the game tomorrow thanks Mr Dependable exactly and thank you so much for the Spurs chat podcast for the last couple of weeks craer I know you had one difficult game to talk about but that 5 nil win on Sunday must have been easy to talk about it it was well the F it was weird um first half as you know obviously all the action was in the first half second half really took about 10 minutes to get for with that because not much happened but you know if every game was like that I’m sure we’d take it would we absolutely back also with us is Melvin all the way from Malta Melvin how are you yeah I’m doing well Chris um looking forward to the podcast you know talk about spares talk about the win and um talk about Thursday tomorrow which is a massive game really looking forward to it excited to be you know potentially in a semi-final if we if we get through yeah tomorrow so absolutely wouldn’t it be nice and back also with us is channel regular Josh Hughes of course uh Sports journalist Josh Hughes Josh how are you yeah good thank you I think we’re all feeling a lot better after that win at Southampton um just a a word on the Spurs fans by the way absolutely brilliant you could hear I mean it does it helps when the Southampton fans leave after 15 minutes but so loud from from start to finish and I think I have a new favorite Spurs chance do you know Josh we have been in that position Newcastle away last season that was difficult and then the fans were leaving early and uh there was a number of chants being um being sung and and being shouted at from the away end at South Hampton um but yeah it was a really really good evening um Josh let’s actually start there um let’s let’s let’s uh take all of your thoughts first of all on that Southampton win because we simply did blow Southampton away I know of course Russell Martin was sacked immediately after the game um but I wanted really to talk about and focus on how well Spurs can start games because when you look at that Chelsea game I know we eventually lost it at the tot hbur Stadium but the start was magnificent um I feel like you know of course we’ll come on to the Man United game but that’s exactly how to start a game isn’t it you know I think it was 38 seconds James Madison 1- nil absolutely and and what an assist from Jed Spence as well I mean I’ve been on the channel uh talking about jet Spence so many times this season I was so delighted to see him uh given a start and you know what an impact he made I think it was a real gamechanging um decision by an poao and we all saw the benefits of that I really hope this is now the start of a consistent run of games for him because he’s just a magnificent footballer um of course an bogu in his press conference alluded to him being tired and the sort of how natural that is um but from our perspective to see a player come in with that much quality it almost feels like a new signing if he can keep going and keep getting an opportunity so that’s a massive bonus great assists for Madison after 36 seconds and look this is what Spurs do Spurs tend to start games well first 10 15 minutes of games Spurs are all over teams and it’s just what happens after that point if we don’t score um look I I I don’t want to get carried away because Southampton were hideously bad uh in so many ways and I think the most alarming thing about Southampton was their lack of fight and their lack of desire in that first half for a team that’s in a relegation fight um no wonder Russell Martin got sacked I mean he he wasn’t even there to see the fifth goal go in he’d already gone down the tunnel but from a Spurs perspective to have kisi scoring son Madison and sa that’s great for confidence overall in the squad to have four different goal scorers having uh lots of different players involved in the goals you know doggy was involved in um the Madison I think it was the Madison’s uh second goal fantastic finish um and good to see sonny get back on the score sheet after a sort of run of games where he seemed to miss big chances and I think more than anything that is the overriding feeling I have it looked like they sort of took the foot off the gas a little bit in the second half and and that’s fine because you know at the end of the day you f n up and this Spurs Squad is really threadbear they’ve been playing games every few days we’ve had so many injuries and I think it’s right that we were sort of conserving a little bit of energy but still solid as well and and also a massive shout out to Lucas bergal playing in a six a new position for him but one I thought he took to very well now it I think there’s obviously room for improvement but again an in his press conference talking about how uh much better these young players like paps are like bergal like Archie gray will be um for playing through and playing a big part in this run of games when the squad is so thin so as far as I’m concerned you know loads of positives to take from that now it sets us up perfectly for an absolutely massive week Man United and Liverpool at home one in the cup one in the league uh it couldn’t get much tougher than that really man united off the back of winning at city um I think it’s absolutely brilliant someone’s just said in the comments Arsenal losing one nil which is great news if that’s true and they’re not trolling um but yeah sets us up perfectly now we need a big atmosphere we need more of the same and we need to kick on this this really can you know shape the direction of our season I feel this week Craig I won’t ask you too much about the Southampton game because of course you hosted the Spurs chat podcast the other night for nearly two hours so uh just very quickly give us your thoughts you must be very pleased with that performance but I completely agree with Josh uh we can’t get carried away because this next week that we’re going to be talking about is huge isn’t it you know Liverpool on Sunday but first up man united in this quarterfinal two huge games yeah it is and I think you know it’s you’re you’re right in saying that we can’t get carried away and just spot on what you said you know it’s it was South Anton they were bloody awful um but you you can only beat what’s in front of you and we beat convincingly so I think it was important to get a put in not only a decent win obviously but just the performance as a whole and the professionalism in the second half I saw people moaning that Spurs didn’t go and score 10 I I don’t understand that point of view you know with scor five the game was won by halim you can serve energy in this injury crisis because we’re going to need these players and need them possibly some of them for both games in fact probably most of them for both games so um think it would been it would just put a whole different mood around the club if we can win against Manchester United however tomorrow and then if somehow we can turn over Liverpool that that just puts us in a whole different place going into Christmas so yeah two important games and um well let’s pray for no more injuries during that period because we’ve got enough Craig how many podcasts have uh you and I recorded where we’re saying about playing players taking opportunities certainly which Josh also mentioned there about Jed Spence grabbing the opportunity first start in the Premier League for Spurs uh Lucas bergville grabbing his opportunity it was nice to see Alfie doron make his Spurs debut so lots of positives I know we we we’re sitting here saying don’t get carried away but there were a lot of positives to take from Sunday night there certainly was yeah and bval um still growing into the Premier League but he’s going to get a lot of confidence from his performance tired toward Wards the end he saw him with cramp at the end with doron pushing his foot down doing that classic uh push to to I know that feeling of cramping the cars uh his thing is I used to get it after about 10 minutes not 90 playing an football um but the one for me um and I jumped off me sofa because of the way he just burst forward and the assist for the first goal was was Jed Spence been crying out for see more of Jed Spence and you talk about players taking their chances you know that if if you need a dictionary definition you should just say see Jed Spence versus Southampton that’s taken your chance we all know most of us know uh the qualities Jed Spence possesses and think he’s been pretty out Dum by but the character of the lad to stick at it the other week when angrew was getting grief off the fans he was the one that put his hand on his shoulder just give him a tap he didn’t need to do that and we know he’s had his issues in the past we’ve talked about that on here that perhaps he hasn’t trained hard enough he’s he’s not been committed he’s not got the right work ethic but I think we can all see that he’s turned that around any demons he’s had as regards that he’s turned that around and he clearly wants to play for Tottenham and wants to play for this manager or else he wouldn’t have put in a performance like that so well done to him kudos to him want to see more of it looks like Destiny and Dogg is probably not GNA make Thursday I would imagine Jed Spence will start at left back uh but we’ll see I I just hope he continues Rich R it’s just a shame for me that you can’t play in his natural position of right back because I think you loose a little bit from him playing left back because he’s not a left back I think he was Sensational at right back I think he was really good at left back as well but you know let’s give him the credit he deserves brilliant performance from Jed I love his very short Instagram post um after the game hungry for more of course all of us want to see more of him um great depth by the way uh you know for Pedro poro um Melvin um very quickly let’s get your thoughts on the Southampton win yeah I mean I was surprised how we started honestly when Spence scored honestly it felt amazing because we’ve we’ve seen nothing of jet Spence I’m so curious to see what kind of player he is so when he scored you know he really started our season when he scored against Coventry he saved us in the cup and then when you think again he’s such a powerful Runner you really have to ask why hasn’t postu used him more often you know before I mean this is the kind of season to test these kind of players to see if they really can make it you know put him in the deep end you know try him try him in the Premier League try him in the cups if he wasn’t you know in the Europa League Squad we really need to know if he’s one for the future you know Conte called him a club signing but he seems to be performing well you know when he when he plays but he’s had really really limited minutes I mean we’ve seen nothing of this kid and he’s been played out of position many many times but back to the Southampton win I mean we’ve been playing like this you know hot and cold hot and cold when we win we win big when medicine plays well we win it seems to be a constant when medicine is on form we seem to to get the win and byy a few goals you know our goal difference is quite incredible for the position that we’re in we don’t deserve to be in the position that we are we deserve to be higher but it is what it is you know we’ve we seeing growth in the team I did predict in the summer I did expect that we would have you know a shaky season to have you know moments where we would you know lose these type of games the squad is still young like Jos said we’re learning they’re still getting appearances and it’s good to get you know a victory in the Premier League with with a couple of teenagers I mean it’s it’s a we’re showing that the project is working it takes time and the Southampton game yeah we did play a struggling Southampton but all Premier League games are hard I mean they gave Liverpool a difficult game and to go there to go away to win during Christmas time is you know there’s nothing better it it sets up it sets us up nicely for the United game which is something that we really needed there’s you know confidence and smiles again within the club within the fans and probably resulted in one of the catchiest songs that I cannot get my out of my head I’m singing in the car by myself I’m singing it my girlfriend every day and it’s funny because spars fans sometimes we we’re special in a way that we find we find laughter in in in these sort of things and and and it’s only us I feel that come up with these kind of songs and we kind of poke and joke sometimes at our own misery and our own problems and we find these type of and I and I love the song I think the chant is brilliant it’s funny and I think it pokes fun you know the the problems at the club and in in in a way in a positive way because Kizi is just on fire and I just love the player and and I just think kvi is going to be you know real iconic player for us he’s been our best player he’s he’s I just love the way he plays he’s he has the mentality that he really wants to win he wants to win something he wants to be a big player he’s you know he was Juventus with with Cristiano Ronaldo he knows what it takes to be to be one of the best and and and we have a real talent in our hands and I’m I just like to see the growth in the player that moment when you think you know we we went through it with bale Modric with Harry Kane and you see them grow from one game to another get strength to strength and get better and we’re seeing it with a few players papar is another one papar is a player right now we’re witnessing game after game him getting better and better and better and better and the Europa League is massive credit for that because he didn’t start the season very well and you have to give credit to the Europa League because that’s where he he was you slowly having a good season scoring in the Europa League now that form has translated to the Premier League and he’s and he’s picking up good performances and and I like what I’m seeing from him I really like what I’m seeing and if he continues the way and poo him out in the press conference which is sometimes you have to listen to the press conference twice to pick up like slight things that PO is trying like the message he’s trying to send and to single out a player on his performances I think was was was a massive thing from posto he’s sometimes his message is quite clear and in front of us CU he’s so direct when he speaks pooku and if you listen to what he’s saying he’s been consistent from day one pooku and if you listen to what the message he’s trying to send he’s been saying the exact same thing is just we we have to keep in a way we have to believe what he’s trying to tell us and we have to you know keep the faith and I and I’m happy where we are at the moment in the Southampton game yeah it’s it’s it’s a victory we we should we’ll see what happens in the cup and we’ll see what happens in the LI it’s going to be an interesting Christmas period and um I’m just happy to to be where we are at the moment I mean a cup tie makes you really excited absolutely um that is exactly where I want to go actually Melvin um Josh let’s start with you on this and I want to get all of your opinions on it um what is more important to you this season because as I mentioned earlier it’s now nearly 17 years since our last trophy which of course was The League Cup back in 20 uh sorry 2008 against Chelsea um what’s more important to you Josh lifting a trophy now is it about league position is it finally now we all say look we need a trophy I’m sure an progo understands that that all of these managers that have comeing to Totten hbur fed to win a trophy is an going to be the man is he going to get the time is he going to get the patience is he going to get the tools uh but most importantly Josh your opinion on league position is is it more important than winning a trophy now no not at all look I I’m not going to diminish an important you know end to the season and doing well in the league I I think that we it would be foolish to dismiss that I would not be happy under any circumstances if we finish 10th in the league however Spurs I think the one thing that and it keeps getting said and it’s becoming a bit cliche now but it’s true the thing that keeps getting said about Spurs is that on their day they can beat anyone we’ve already proven that this season which in many ways you know sets us up perfectly for games like man united tomorrow and in the Europa League as well so for me like every Spurs fan I think all we want to do is get that duck off our back win a trophy have that feeling again that we haven’t had since 2008 that real Elation that is unlike any other feeling in football um because I think that’s the one thing that will totally change The Narrative of Tottenham hbur football club and the direction of where we’re going now I know an said today you know it’s not about just winning one trophy for the sake of it you he wants to set the team up so that we win a trophy and we’re ready to win more and more after that words to that effect and I think that’s right but what a difference it makes if Spurs can go and win trophies now the carabal cup is is important because it was the last trophy we won and of course we’d all love to win it again but personally for me I’ve got my eye on the Europa League as the one that I want to win more than anything because for Spurs to win a European Cup for it to be the third time that we have won that competition and it automatically gives you a Champions League spot and that European and pedigree is just another level um you know I I would take any Trophy this season don’t get me wrong but you know I would love to see that and I think that really would change The Narrative of Spurs and it would get rid of that spursy tag and I think that that’s the thing that can help us kick on and also as I know we’re going to go on to later with transfers if Spurs win a Europa League the type of players that are going to want to come to Tottenham is going to change because we’ve won a European trophy we’re in the Champions League suddenly Spurs looks like a team that can prove that they are winners and I think that’s where we’re at at the minute and that will always hold us back compared with some of our sort of uh big six Rivals is the fact that we have to now go out and prove that we are a team that can win and not just compete so for me trophy over a league finish any day of the week but that still doesn’t diminish how important the league is Josh you see on um I know you can’t always gauge it online but you see a lot of Spurs fans winding and moaning about tottenham’s league position at the moment of course it is very very tight in the Premier League at the moment you could you know one weekend be 12th and then uh suddenly you know the next weekend or the weekend after you could be up to you know fifth so it’s very very tighten there at the moment is it the case that Spurs fans at the minute will still be happy with what’s happening um during the season regardless of league position if Spurs remain in Cup competitions carabel cup FA Cup Europa League because is it in your opinion is it now about putting that trophy in the cabinet and also what I wanted to ask is if you had to choose one of the cups that is the easiest you know and and I’m not saying trophy the easiest you know easy to win because we know they’re not but the easiest competition to win you know with the least amount of games surely is the carabell cup well the carabal cup you have to end up well it’s it’s highly highly unlikely with the carabal cup that you’re going to um get through to the final and win it without playing the best teams in the country we’ve already played and beat Man City we’ve now got man united it could be Liverpool or Arsenal or whoever next um you know it’s not going to be easy at all um sure there’s there’s fewer games but also if you think about where we’re at as a squad right now with the injuries and problems it makes life quite difficult in that regard because we don’t know where we’re going to be at that point and and and it ends quite soon look if I was going to prioritize one I would say the Europa League purely because a European Cup the glamour is totally different with that and I would say FA Cup second because of the history of the cup and it means that we would be one ahead of Chelsea because we’ve both got eight so us above Chelsea again which would be great but then carabal cup I I don’t want to be snobbish we don’t have that luxury as Spurs fans we’ve not won anything since 2008 I will take anything that we can possibly get um and anything beyond that is a bonus um but what I would say is that with the Europa League and well with any cup competition it’s luck of the draw really carabar Cup’s the one that tends to always result in you playing top teams throughout the competition but then as the FA Cup proved last year we ended up with Manchester City this year we’ve got Tamworth so who knows how the draw plays out we could end up with a really easy route to the final not having to play a single good team and we might get lucky where there’s some cup sets and we end up playing I don’t know no disrespect to them but Watford in the FA Cup Final you know it’s it’s highly unlikely that situation plays out but that’s what the FA Cup can give you whereas the carabal cup there’s always a higher caliber of teams there always usually look at the finals for the last God knows how many years it’s bar I think Swansea versus Bradford city um it’s always been near enough big teams I mean it feels like that competition has been Chelsea versus Liverpool forever now that final so um and then the Europa League it’s the same thing now that there’s no dropdowns from the Champions League are really fancy Us in that competition again you may end having to face Manchester United at some point um but that’s another one we should be looking at and actually there should be not an arrogance about us but certainly a confidence from the squad the manager and you know everyone around the club to think you know what actually let’s back ourselves here I think we are on paper one of if not the strongest team in the competition on our day so we we absolutely should go for that but look to summarize I take any trophy I think you’ll all be the same yeah I I’m definitely uh there and I have been for for some time time now um we certainly don’t want to be drawing Watford in any competition because Ricky Norwood would never get there and uh with with the other thing Josh that you mentioned about the Europa League now the three away games in the Europa League that I’ve been to so far this season far and suar a difficult game although we got the win uh Galatasaray that um that crowd intensity uh that was mental um very very tough to go to a ground like that and and get a result uh which of course we lost rain last week exactly the same uh so I feel like any of the away games in Europe are going to be very very difficult um going forward but let’s hope we can go all the way to the final Craig how many times have me and you spoken about this about trophy is it about league position I’m sure to the football club league position is absolutely everything trying to get in the Champions League or the Europa League but do you feel the the majority of the fan base now is about a trophy yeah think so I think I think a lot of people are realistic as well in that I kind of agree what an says it’s not the it shouldn’t be your goal just to win a trophy and that’s it we all know that you know it’s but it’s what that trophy gives you as a club gives the players gives the fan base um it’s been far too long I I mean you know if you imagine the last time we won we weren’t doing this we weren’t doing podcasts and all that I mean yeah you know I don’t think I was even on X or Twitter as it was back then back in 2008 i’ only just got a phone a smartphone where you could get Facebook and stuff so that’s how long ago it was you know it’s it’s it’s mental and what that whole has what’s that going to be like what’s the podcast going to be like if we win I mean it just all it fascinates me to think about that because it’s been so long it’s just it just seems like another lifetime it seems like a lifetime away you know Jonathan Woodgate headed against um it almost got the ball actually got whacked against his head and it went in but you know we we we’ll take it like just said I would take anything look nobody’s going to remember who won the caribel cup two years ago you know you know what I mean nobody’s G if we won it nobody’s gonna care but Spurs fans will care Spurs fans will care that we’ve got a trophy in the cabinet and that’s what it’s all about that’s why you go to football that’s why you support your clubs to for that glory and we’ve been starved of it and we know that we know the tags we’ve been labeled with the spursy tag and you know the finals we’ve lost and where we’ve fallen short in semi-finals big players not turning up blah blah blah we talk about it all day but Manchester United yes they’re going through a change uh with with amarim and and the players are up for it by what I can see and I’ve seen Manchester United playing they’re not nowhere near the team they were a few years ago 10 years ago so I think we’ve got a good chance as anyone to beat Manchester United tomorrow night and then it’s just the luck of the draw who you get um for me I would prioritize a cup over a league position because I think the league just generally you generally end up in the league where you deserve you can sneak a cup you can get a a an unsavory Victory against somebody by a bit of luck or whatever you know there’s just if you get through tomorrow there’s it’s three games it’s three games and you’ve won so you you can you can do that you can’t fake the league but I’m with Josh as well why not go for the Europa League as well I think we’re almost in the in that well we’re not in the top eight obviously but I think the two teams we got left to play has kind of worked out quite well for us they’re two teams we should be beating um so I think come the end of that the league phase competition I think we’ll think we’ll be in the top eight of course Rangers play the team above them who I can’t remember who is it Manchester United possibly are they playing next think yes yeah I think they are um so so obviously one of them’s gonna well somebody’s going to drop points so we beat hoffenheim we’re in that top eight so and then again all bets are off it’s just the luck of the draw so we we are more than capable of winning a cup but I’ve said that before loads of times the players just need to perform Craig can I ask you about an poog because um of course against Southampton and St Mary’s the away end it was electric the whole game and you know they were they were really supporting our boss an BOGO and you know it wasn’t only what two weeks ago uh on the south coast at Bournemouth when we lost one- nil um you know he had a lot of confrontation with the uh with the Tottenham albor way and then isn’t it weird how football can change within a couple of weeks and the mood can change what have you made of the criticism recently on an because I feel feel like the fan base is very very mixed on Posta cogo but as I said great support for him on Sunday night I think he goes handing glove being a football manager if I’m honest I think what an didn’t like was the personal stuff that people were yelling at him and you know he’s a human being at the end of the day um so you know you you’re going to buy it back when somebody shout something that you like that I mean he it’s not just him it’s look the the fans turned on Mourinho pretty much Nuno almost from the start the only one who hasn’t and even he had it a bit towards the end was pochettino so it’s it’s understandable the the football that an plays he’s going to get a few people moaning about it and not stick with it but I just think society today everybody wants everything now and as soon as something goes wrong it’s like move on get the manager out get a new one in that’s not going to work you know how long much longer are we going to do that I know I get it you’re going to be frustrated at certain performances you’re going to get more performances like that one um at bul if you’re going to get ones like the one at Brighton it’s it’s going to collapse sometimes it’s just when that happens we don’t want that to happen in a key Cup game for example you know so you you you’re just G to have to stick with it how many times I come on here we just got to stick with it it’s it’s part of the process and I think fans have probably turned a bit after that buou back toward swung back towards an um because I think fans have re reevaluated their expectations and re-evaluated what’s going on within the club yeah and is it is it is it all an’s fault you know are there certain issues above an that Josh could certainly talk about all day uh and I agree with with with certain huge aspects of that that we need to be better in that got the the board need to back him and back him properly and don’t but don’t forget an of we all know an doesn’t necessarily like the Superstar players however I’m sure if he was gifted a monster number six or a a superstar and they said look we can get him he’s in the budget we he wants to come I’m sure he wouldn’t say no so they are under no Illusions the hierarchy at Tottenham that the fans aren’t happy that song um it’s quite catchy isn’t it the kosi one and I think that’s going to be uh Ali gold said the same I think that song’s going to be here to stay for a while yet you know um I don’t think that’s one that’s just going to die out so the board should be under no Illusions what the fan base think it does seem quite strange at the moment because there is a lot of pressure I feel on the board there is pressure uh externally you know with the fans on an progo some of the fans you know I feel like half the fan base is with an half the fan base can’t wait for it to uh go peir shaped and you know want another manager in that is certainly not the route that I think that the club need to go down um I feel like some fans get on the backs of players extremely quickly and there does seem to be a lot of uh arguing uh amongst the fan base at the moment you know particularly after that Chelsea game you know even when I was filming the players coming off the pitch there were two guys next to me um nearly having a fight about just a difference of opinion about POA cogo and you know some of the players performances so it is very mixed at the moment but I just feel like time and patience is needed and if anyone wants to listen to a good rant from Ricky Norwood uh we put it out on the channel the other day as a separate piece it’s about 14 and a half minutes long you know we know Ricky can talk but it was a really really good piece on why people should just have the time and patience with an progo because even I feel like we can’t keep going round in circles again and again and again um you know let’s you know we’ll come on to transfers shortly with Josh um Melvin let’s get your um thoughts on um what’s more important to you is it league position is it a cup is it about time Spurs lifted a trophy yeah I mentioned this on the podcast a few times my first season supporting Spurs we won The League Cup and that was in 2008 and I haven’t seen a trophy since so so in in our Fair season yeah so the League Cup in a way is special to me because I did see the um the other League Cup but I was quite young in N I think 1999 it was but yeah I definitely in the camp where I think this game against United is extremely important because it will it will make certain aspects of season quite different I think all of a sudden you’ll start to think okay in January we’re going to be in a semi-final there’s two legs and you have to think what’s the club gonna do in January and I’m sure Josh is gonna talk about this later it will all of a sudden be like how ambitious is the football club what are we going to do in January to make sure we improve our league position finish our our our chances of winning The League Cup our chances of winning the Europa League what are we going to do in January all of a sudden the ambition is on under question let’s see what we’re going to do in January I’m excited for for the game and and and I really really think it could you know not make our break the season because we’re still going to have I think a pretty good season but I think the fans will will have a cup run I would love to have a day at Wembley I would love to get to the final it would teach our young players a lot I think it will go a long way I remember under pochettino in I think first or second season I forget we got to the League Cup Final and lost to Chelsea in the early days of of pochettino we did we did get to a few finals even under Harry redn we got to a few finals and and I know we couldn’t get over the line but the League Cup is very important for the fans and um it’s just been too long I think the football club really needs really needs a trophy even the fans really need a trophy and I think even us as Tottenham fans I haven’t seen the amount of people that would turn up to to to the high road if we win a cup I would love to see that road jam-packed with people I don’t I don’t even know you know the power of of my own football club I haven’t seen you know the stadium facted of people celebrating winning a cup so to to to to try to sacrifice you know a league finish for the cup for me is is crazy I don’t agree with it I never agree with it I think this game is extremely important we’ve beat Manchester United this season Once and I think we can do it again and to think one game and all of a sudden in January will’ll get van van back we’ll get Romero back we’ll get rich Alison back we’ll get Odo bear back we have many many injuries and it would show lots of character if we could do it with an with an with an injured Squad because drasin is playing well you know we have Ben Davis who’s who’s injured at the moment but he’s been playing well Archie gray is settling quite nicely it it’s it’s a game to show real growth and if we win if we win against United it will be it will push on the season quite nicely Melvin would you go as far as saying this is our biggest game of the season so far I I po goo was asked this question and and and he’s quite consistent in his answers but in my opinion in the moment this is a really really big game it’s a really big game I really want to win this game because a cup run makes all the fans excited and happy I remember my happiest time supporting spares was that Champions League run it’s just one game after the other I know it’s a different competition and the champions league is absolutely massive but for us for a club who hasn’t won a trophy in so long to get to a final with this young Squad would be massive even a semi-final I would be happy with but we’ll take it game by game it’s a very very big game I’d love to beat you know amim just it’s just I’d love to be United again you know these are Big teams that we playing like Jos said you never playing small teams it’s it’s it’s a good competition to get far in well the teams have met a total of 174 Times Manchester United winning 90 of them Tottenham winning 41 and 43 three of those matches finishing as a draw um of course Spurs beat Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Premier League back in September what a great win that was now there is no V in this quarterfinal at the Tottenham hbur Stadium on Thursday um it will go straight to penalties if it is a draw after 90 minutes uh the last time we faced Manchester United in a penalty shootout was in the 2009 League Cup Final losing 4-1 on penalties um and you mentioned there Melvin about the uh going through to the semi-finals if Spurs were to go through to the semi-finals the draw is straight after the game um now the semi-finals two legs four weeks apart week commencing the sixth of January and week commencing the third of Feb now Josh before I get your thoughts ahead of this game let’s hear from an PO cogo on the team news ahead of this game against Manchester United hi and what’s the latest with your injuries please um I guess uh from the other night um destiny um no injury but he’s still a bit sore from the game um so not rolling him out but we’ll just see how he is obviously with with the turnaround um uh B is obviously available after being suspended on the weekend and I think everyone else says is um do you know when vanen might be back yet uh vanen Romero sort of still um kind of chugging along look I think both to be fair will be in the new year when um again not not not as significant injuries as last time with Mickey um but um obviously with um yeah having a setback um medical team’s just going to you make sure he’s right to go um so both of them sort of ending a year at some point and Mikey Moore Mike is back training so um hopefully not too far away I think the next Cab’s off the ranker kind of Mikey um Ben Davies potentially next week and then Rich charlson maybe first week of the New Year Josh let’s come to you um on the team news there an polu um said that a lot of these players are coming back for January now of course we will talk in depth about our key targets for the January transfer window but from what you’re hearing there from an po cogo does it mean that we’re going to have a less busier January than we first thought with all these players coming back well I think with Tottenham hbur football club you never know with this chairman you never know I I I would expect to see probably one or two players come in I think they would be absolute fools to not bring in one or two extra players especially as now Spurs I think guaranteed at least a knockout game um and it shouldn’t take an awful lot for us to get into that top eight and and skip the playoffs um of which then the Europa League Squad uh you send in a new Europa League Squad there’s opportunity there um look the amount of games to come the FA Cup Europa League League games um carabal cup semifinal and final if we’re able to get there there’s too many games to to risk this happening again and I think Spurs probably will have leared their lesson i’ well I’d imagine at least would have learned the lesson from the shortcomings of the squad in this opening half of the Season we’ve seen how threadbear and how Grim it’s got with the number of injuries and there’s nothing to say that that won’t happen again before the end of the season and I certainly don’t think an Costo would be happy to see the squad this thin again should we get more injuries so I I would expect to see one or two players come in for sure I’d probably if I was going to guess a number I would probably say two players come in um but you know also at the same time andie’s going to keep tight lipped I think about the business in January because if he starts answering questions about players that Spurs are interested in potentially suddenly I think the opposition club that owns the player bear in mind we’re talking about players that do not belong to our football club they’ll suddenly say right here’s the price tag let’s double it or we’ll bump it up significantly now Spurs are interested so they’re never going to do that and there’s also a respect thing going on here as well you’re never going to talk about players that are not yours I never like it when managers do talk about players that do not belong to the football club I think maybe the only acceptable way thing to talk about would be for example if Harry Kane wins a trophy at Bayern or whatever and and you get asked about that I think that’s fair enough but um yeah I mean it was more of the same from POS KLU I I wouldn’t expect anything different and I’m not disappointed with that I thought actually it was a very good press conference and he answered the questions particularly well I mean he’s usually good value after a win anyway um but yeah spur Spurs I think should learn well they have to learn their lessons but I I do think that they will bring at least one or two in Josh how are you feeling uh you know we do score predictions right at the end of the show but how are you feeling about this Manchester United game because when you look at Manchester United’s results at the weekend Guaranty theti had winning 2-1 which is absolutely huge for them you know people can talk about Manchester City’s form but we know what a derby is like you know form goes out the window um you know in a derby it is completely different they’ve got a superb result at the weekend Ruben Amar of course has uh replaced Eric tenh har he’s been in charge for seven games four wins one draw two defeats two of those wins come com in the Europa League um what have you made of Amarin so far and uh as I say how are you feeling ahead of this one well I mean it’s a cup game I think an summed it out perfectly when he said it’s going to be a tight game I’d imagine it will be um I certainly don’t expect man united to roll over and have their bellies tickled in the way that they did to us at Old traffic earlier this season I think we’re in for a much much tougher game there’s always you know the saying the new manager bounce they’ve G and won a pretty tough game in the Europa League at Victoria pilson and then they go and win at um theti had as well amorim’s not a fo either I think he’s a very impressive young coach he’s already beaten Spurs I think it was one all in the home game and then they beat us um at their place when we played them in the Champions League so amarim you know I think he’s rightly earned his plaudits and he’s rightly earned a move to a club as big as Manchester United um it it all depends on who plays and who doesn’t and can we stop Amad Dio because Amad Dio seems to be the man on fire at the minute I mean he he’s always look a player with immense potential um but I know lots of United fans who are saying you know why is Amad not playing why is he not understanding Ten’s decisions but he’s straight into the fold for Ruben amarim and he is on fire at the minute Rasmus holand who I think has been pretty disappointing or certainly underwhelming as a signing is now in amongst the goals again I think even xery has started scoring again so they’re not going to be easy but as I say it’s a cup game and Tottenham can beat anyone on their day I certainly wouldn’t pick man united as favorites I think I’d struggle to call this to be totally honest I wouldn’t be surprised if United won I wouldn’t be surprised if we won I wouldn’t be surprised if it goes to penalties it really is one of those games where I think with the city game I always had a bit more confidence with this one I I can’t call it we just need to show up we need the fans to show up and you know hope things go our way it’s going to be nice watching a game of football you know at the highest level without V I think um yeah we forget sometimes how good the game was without V and I’m sure there’ll be um one or two moments tomorrow where we wish there was V exactly right but um I’m just buzzing for it I can’t wait um and and I think we’ve got every chance that’s for sure on Wednesday of course Spurs boss and progo took part in his press conference um he anwers some questions about this game against Manchester United and he was also asked about uh Marcus rashford of course this is a player that we have been linked with in multiple transfer Windows um on Tuesday Marcus rashford did an exclusive interview with journalist Henry Winter about possibly leaving Manchester United um now the journalist did actually ask an fogu about this this is what you had to say yeah well we got ourselves in that position so we’ve earned that and um yeah like you said it’s a big game um quarterfinal of a cup competition and um looking forward to it it should be uh should be a cracking night Manchester United there’s a bit of noise around the club at the moment regarding Marcus rashford there’s always noise to be a man united man come on where you been but particularly he’s admitted he’d like a new challenge what have you made of that and how big a threat than no interested see he’s a main United player um very good player you got plenty of good players um so but uh I manage my players and uh I guess um you know other managers will manage their own players but in terms of Mark’s situation have no real desire to examine it any further okay thank you don’t care Craig do you care about Marcus would you like to see him in a spur shirt it was just weird the way he called him Marcus and not rashford it’s like he knew him it does that to everyone I was gonna say I’d have to look back does he is he on first nam’s terms does he called him first name always would I like Marcus rashford um I see a lot of people dismissing rashford I I still think there’s a player in there I think he’d actually suit this system pretty well I can see Josh shaking his head but I I is he better than teimo Vera yes so um if you if you’re looking to upgrade on Teo Vera then Marcus rashford I I think he’d be a decent decent uh purchase to be honest and he’s English of course so that would help with the with the English quoter so um look remember when he was on the players just don’t like Deli allei perhaps an example where things do for some reason fall off a cliff but I just think uh rashford the last few years hasn’t had he hasn’t been playing in the right system he he’s there’s obviously been issues with the managers I don’t know what he’s had going on in his private life whether he’s said uh stuff going on outside football that’s probably taken his eye off the ball so to speak but if you was just offering me a marus rashford was up for a decent price I would personally take him at Tottenham would you Chris I would but I don’t think his personality would fit what an goo wants at the football club but I am with you Craig I feel like there is a real player there and I feel like there’s a lot of ability I feel like it’s an attitude um issue um right now and I feel like amarim has done exactly the right thing him and gacho of course were left out of the squad uh last week and there is a reason for that um but it’s interesting let’s actually go to a clip from uh Ruben amarim talking about rashford and and we’ll come back to you Craig hiu um first of all just wondering what your reaction is to Marcus rashford saying that he’s ready for a new challenge uh I think he’s right we have here A new challenge is is a tough one uh for me is the biggest challenge in in football because because we are in the difficult situation and I already said that this this is one of the biggest clubs in the world so this is really a new challenge and the biggest one and um I hope my all my players are ready for this new challenge so you didn’t interpret that as he wanted a new challenge elsewhere and have you spoken to mark about the no no not yet not yet it was yesterday I gave a day off to the to the lads so um he our player and he is ready to to the next game do you having left someone with his big bigger profile as Marcus do you have to then talk to him about his future and your future or do you just kind of go on the training pitch expect him to be there and whatever happens behind the scenes in terms of whether he’s part of your squad or not just happens I spoke with a lot of players uh individually and um during trainings um what I want is to take the best off of Marcus rashford as the old the the players so I I don’t talk about the future I just talk about the present I want the best of each one of them and that is the the key point for me I just want to to win in to help the team to be to be better so we are better with Marcus rashford and that’s simple and we try different things to push Marcus to the best level that he shown in the past so that’s that’s all so it sounds from what you’re saying both then and Simon’s question that you’d be quite happy for Marcus to stay here and be part of you what you’re trying to build to buy into what you’re trying to of course because this kind of Club need needs big talent and is a big Talent so we just need to perform um at the highest level and that is my focus I just want to help Marcus when there is a lot of concern over a player’s future like Marcus what what impact might that have on the rest of the squad how how concerned are you about the other players what message do you need to get across I think they are more simple than that they they focus on on their job everyone they are um all the players I was a player and we are a little bit uh selfish so they are focused on in their job to win the place in in this team so I think the is not even an impact in the team and in terms of of Marcus and and gacho are they both likely to be involved against spur tomorrow we have one more training but is the same situation of all the other players if they they they if they train well uh then I have to make a choice uh we will see in the in the end of the training would you expect a response from both of them on the park to sort of make a point of course I I expect the best of uh each player every day so we’ll see after the training okay Ruben I know you need to have that conversation with Marcus before you you make your decision at the weekend’s game but um if you if you do find out that a player wants to leave the club would he be a part of the dressing room would you want to play like that round until January this is this is in the future my focus is that to have all the players in the best that that that they can can be to prepare each game so we are talking about if if if there is no if in this kind of Club it’s just Tottenham and let’s focus on the game Craig let’s stay with you what do you make of this situation because you know when you look at rashford he’s 27 he is a senior player a new manager comes in surely these players should be looking to impress the new boss you know I I just see it as a little bit embarrassing him and garnacho who’s meant to be one of their star players at Old Trafford you know left out of the squad because you know supposedly they’re not training very well yeah beggar belief in it that you know we all dreamed of being a football most of us dreamed of being a professional footballer and to not go out there every day and give it 100% in your training to do a job that you love and always wanted to do your whole life I’ve never quite understood that if that’s the case um look he has had these issues in the past 10 hog obviously had had um had problems with him didn’t he but on his day Marcus rashford he always seemed to score against us I mean I remember that semi final wimbley I think it was when he scored the only goal of the game when um it must have been under poch was it in the semi-final when he put Ving goal was that when rashford scored against us might might be getting that wrong but he always seems to score against us and um look for if you know a few years back it was a regular England International was the one of the first names on the team CH of course yeah and a bit like Del Alli to that degree he form and everything else is is dipped and dropped off and he’s not First Choice anymore um but like I say I’ll go back to it I think he on his on his day and we all know what he’s capable of whether Levy would pay his wages let alone I don’t know if he’s got a year left on his contract or a year and a half come January I don’t know I don’t know what his contract situation is but the wages I would imagine would be a massive problem because if he’s on 300 Grand like I saw somebody put in the chat there I I mean we ain’t paying that that’s for sure no 100% so so yeah I mean if if a deal could be done I wouldn’t be against it for rashford Melvin let’s come to you how are you feeling ahead of this quarterfinal Clash at the totam hbur stadium and also what have you made of Manchester United um in particular since Ruben amarim has come in yeah I mean they play a different formation now and um they’ve had some injuries when we played them and they’re you know they they managed to beat City I know it was an convincing Victory um and they they you know it was a real smashing grab they really got two goals in the end and and kind of not stolen the result because they in in a way they did deserve it in the end but city city struggled to score struggled to break them down and I feel that the game could be quite similar for us they’re going to play with five at the back you know two players in aarte and um and Mayu or potentially um I don’t know who they’re going to play in the middle but it it depending on the lineup but because the Mason Mount got injured but I think they’re going to try to to play quite defensive try to be solid because they’re not playing at home they’re playing away and obviously we’re going to try to attack so they’re they’re going to try to Counterattack us like they did with City they have they have plenty of pace they have plenty of strength with Hiland at at at the front and um yeah the after a victory like that the Manchester Derby they’re going to be quite happy and quite on a high coming to to us yeah but in a way it could also play against them because it could also be quite false you know it’s it’s in a way I’m still confident that we can win because I I think we have much of more stable foundations in in the team in in in a style of play I think we’ve been playing this way for much longer than them even qu ruin has only been there not even a month I believe how many games has he played it’s going to take time for them to to learn learn his new system learn his new formation even though they have good players at at United I think I think us playing at home we quite strong I think the atmosphere which polu mentioned in his press conference I think should be good on the day I think it will be good um sometimes quite Hit or Miss if we get an early goal you know the crowd will be on it I think like Josh mentioned the AA fans are incredible I mean you could hear them through Chris you with there I mean you can hear them through the TV quite clearly you could see what they’re saying every single game and um and the home atmosphere has been been you know struggling a little bit you know the results don’t help and um sometimes the stadium you know you try to get Chance going you try to get you try to generate an atmosphere it helps when the team’s winning when the team is scoring and um when we win when we score you know the atmosphere is booming and and and it really helps with the team but when when we can seed goals when we’re losing games it really can go quite the opposite and have the opposite effect and um an early goal will will certainly help and um I think postu will try try to to get the goal quite quickly I think the instruction will be quite similar to Southampton I mean don’t don’t let them score don’t let them get in this game I think the first goal if we get the first goal I think we’ll win the game because they will have to come at us they will have to lose their shape and I think that really suits us it’s going to be interesting to say who’s he’s gonna play because team o Verner played well at all Trafford believe it or not I mean you were there Chris he he played well I mean he caused mazra lots of problems I know we had vanen and UD doggy on on the left hand side and and it’s scary to see all three of them coming at you at the same time but the lineup it’s going to be interesting Johnson played as well and he scored that game it’s going to be interesting to see if Johnson’s going to start if K or or is he gonna go with kvki again I mean how strong is he gonna go I I don’t I don’t believe son is gonna play the entire 90 minutes he’s been managing his minutes well is basuma gonna come straight back into the team because who who’s going to be who’s going to be dropped I mean the players haven’t done anything anything wrong Fraser Foster has been impressive and um and he’s showing his wealth of experience I mean he’s settling he’s settling quite nicely even dragin is is playing quite nicely in in at the back so there’s lots of things to be to be positive and and happy about and um it’s going to be in a way he does have a selection headache because if you drop berville he’s going to be dis pointed if you if Archie gray is going to be he’s is he going to play center back again I I guess he has to is is is verer gonna have an impact coming off the bench if we need to there’s lots of there’s lots of things that could make or break this game is medicine gonna have an impactful game again like I said before if medicine plays well we’ll win it’s just some just simple as that is papar going to score against United again there’s lots of things that could happen then and um is keski going to keep his fine fine form it’s lots of things in the cup that could happen that’s a good point melin what version of these players are we going to see in such a big game a huge game at the Totten HB Stadium on Thursday and you mentioned teimo Vernon’s good points there but of course uh you know I was also at Glasgow last week you know seeing that performance which an polu described as unacceptable um Josh I’m going to give you a couple of minutes to think about about a predicted 11 uh what team you think an poog will put out against Manchester United um while you’re doing that um we’re going to hear from Rich um from uh United TV giv his thoughts on the new manager given his thoughts on United season so far and his thoughts on Spurs he’s only had you know five six games but already I think Manchester United fans are looking and seeing we can see a difference we can see improvements we can see finally plan and finally a manager’s actually come he’s had a different way of playing a different formation and he hasn’t compromised what he did at sporting he’s trying to do the same thing albeit with a squad that isn’t really shaped for that formation at the moment he’s not compromising on what he wants to do and as a Manchester United fan that makes me quite happy with this appointment because we wanted a manager that’s going to come in and try and rebuild Manchester United and try and recreate what he’s done at sport in Lisbon admittedly there’s going to be more pressure it’s a difficult league so aims for this season I’ve seen a lot of YouTubers that have written the season off I don’t think Manchester United can write a season off there’s still a lot of things to play for even the carar cup which talking about tonight there’s also the FA Cup there’s the Europa League which again I think Manchester United and Spurs may but heads in that competition we’re probably both in the top five teams in that competition I would say so there’s a good chance we do meet again in the season so I think realistically Manchester United should be looking to improve in the league they should be looking to slowly move up the league and at the moment there’s a lot of teams separated by what four five six points so realistically I would say Manchester United should try and finish at least in the Europa League positions that’s that’s like fifth sixth seventh and try and win either domestic trophy Europa League would be fantastic it’s going to be difficult but I think Manchester United should should try and at least carry on where Eric tag left off in terms of at least trying to win a competition each season that’s something that as fans we want to see at least try and win competitions don’t write anything off like we don’t want to be like an arsenal we don’t want to get drift through not winning just focusing on the league you can’t just focus on one competition you got to try and pick up trophies where you can and that’s kind of my aim for the season um regarding like Spurs this season I think they fall into the cat again of a lot of teams there like Aston Villa possibly Newcastle maybe Manchester United as well as teams that are a bit hit and miss I’ve seen Spurs be fantastic and you’ve just you just completely destroyed Seth Hampton I mean everybody everybody does destroy Seth Hampton but still you know it’s it’s a really good win the fact you you finished them before halftime is is pretty impressive also you took Villa apart but then there’s been a few slips where know Spurs of lost games where you you kind of expect them to win maybe the ysch one was a bit of a surprise but I think Spurs they’re doing things the right way in terms of as a fan it’s you quite like seeing attacking football and the I can see what anre is trying to do a bit more solidity at the back maybe a little bit more balanced in Midfield and the Chelsea game was just one of individual errors really which was a bit disappointing because I was quite hoping that Chelsea wouldn’t get much out of that game so I think overall it’s a tough season for for an I think the caribo cup the Europa League there’s competitions where Spurs could be looking to try and get a trophy and end that trophy drought so I think Spurs fans are right to be cautiously optimistic but again it’s one of these Seasons where there’s a lot to play for but a few bad results you could find yourself mid-table a few good results you could be pushing for top four it’s a really difficult one to call for Spurs season thanks to Rich for his comments there um we’ve had some great guests on actually in the in recent podcast so thank you so much for that um Josh let’s come to you it’s interesting what Rich says there that you know when you when you look at Eric ten Hog’s uh time at Manchester United they still won trophies you know some of these clubs they don’t seem to be doing well in Seasons but they still seem to pick up trophies which probably makes it a little bit more frustrating for for Spurs fans absolutely um this is a thing that man united do it’s in their DM I think that’s the difference between the two clubs is Manchester United is a winning Club even in their tough years they’ve still won a Europa League they’ve won um you know fa cups this is this is and they won the carabal cup as well so this is what happens at Manchester United um and this is why I think it’s so important that Spurs win this game and win this competition because that hopefully is the spring board for us become a club that even when we’re not playing at our best we still pick up trophies that’s what the game’s all about that’s why we all pay our season tickets or pay to go and watch you know the club that’s why we clear our schedules and make sure that when Tottenham is on we’ll have no sleep nothing else is as important you know and and it’s all in that hope that we can win something so they’re going to be a very very tough team to play tomorrow uh very unpredictable I think they’re gonna make life quite difficult with that sort of back five back three whatever you want to call it um and it’s down to Spurs to find a way to win the game um I don’t suspect that they’re going to just sit back man united I don’t think that’s Ruben amorim’s style um and that might suit us but if if they do then uh then we might have a a far more difficult evening ahead of us but look I I I still maintain I think we can and should win the game tomorrow um it’s just down to the players to to deliver on the night Josh if if if you’d like to give us two predicted lineups your predicted lineup the one that you would like to see an POA goo put out and the actual team you believe that an POA cogo will put out against Manchester United you know what you you asked me to think about this before and and to be honest there’s not really a lineup I would like to see because we kind of don’t really have much choice at the minute um if it was down to me I would say let’s assume that oogi can play because he said he’s in contention so it means there’s a chance I would probably go I go fer Spence dragas in um gray bu doggy saw Madison kulusevski Johnson salang son that’s what I would go with strong and then to have the ability to bring on someone like Pedro porro at right back or to bring him on even on the wing I think could be quite handy because sometimes I do watch Pedro porro and I think he would suit being a Winger he would suit that man united system and the amarim system a lot better in many ways I think actually um as a wing back what I think he’ll do I think it will be porro starting over Spence and I wouldn’t be surprised if vuma also starts the game tomorrow as well um so yeah that that would be what I would do and what I think will happen with Andrew’s system though Josh it is so important isn’t it the subs are so important to give that burst of energy oh absolutely and and that was one of the good things about the Southampton game was the fact that Brennan Johnson was on the bench and um as was Pedro porro so we had the ability to bring these players on and that that’s a luxury we haven’t had for a while and it makes you wonder again why on Earth Jed Spence wasn’t given an opportunity sooner um but knowing that that’s the case so yeah that that’s that’s what I would do I think it it’s really really important that we have some energy because if if things don’t quite go to plan we don’t want to turn to the bench and have absolutely no game changers at all or nothing um and and for all the faults and all the uh you know the stuff that we say about te o verer and his very obvious lack of quality we have also seen him come off the bench and make an impact at times and that can’t be dismissed as yeah a terrible a footballer as I think he is there are times when he has come off made an impact an impact in our last caraval cup game against Manchester City he had a massive impact scoring so look yeah that that’s what I reckon will probably happen tomorrow I’d imagine basuma gets back into the uh the team um but yeah I don’t think we can afford to go anything but full strength you guys think about your score predictions uh we’re going to play a last clip from uh s from stretford post uh giving his predicted lineup uh for Manchester United my predicted lineup I would say man united will go with massia as a left back in my opinion I think the center backs will be the three of course there’ll be Lia Martinez Deli and Lenny yo will be in that Center back partnership on the right wing back would be Maz ruri I think it could be doot but I think he’ll go Maz ruri um actually I’m going to change I’m going to say doot he’s going to play doot isn’t he he’s going to play doot as the right wing back in Midfield to be C and Mayu for this game um on the left V man on the um striking attacking Midfield positions it will be Fernandez in my opinion and it probably will be Ahad um up front will be xery xery will play and Rosas Holland will miss out on this game today or tomorrow should I say of course guys tomorrow goodness me so um my prediction prediction for the game I’m going with Manchester United winning the game by two goals to one that’s my prediction I hope you don’t mind me saying so but I think man united got this tomorrow I think man united got this tomorrow I don’t want to sound too giddy touchwood I think we got this tomorrow take it easy guys I’m s Warner of stretford post guys so you can follow me on stretford post all over the internet on YouTube street for post Instagram Street for post Twitter Street for post of course guys so don’t forget to follow don’t forget to subscribe thank you very much interestingly the two Manchester United fans that we’ve had on as guests this evening have both gone for Manchester United wins um Craig before you give me your score prediction for this game uh which Manchester United players worry you well I think we’re going to absolutely piss it tomorrow because he’s obviously not playing a goalkeeper so you know that that’s brilliant um I think saying Craig just he didn’t mention I just thought was bizarre obviously going with tin um who worries me um um uh is it di Dio the Le the lead you was talking about earlier I don’t really know many Manu players now used to you know when they were in the 90s you could almost name the whole Squad couldn’t you they would seem to be on the Telly all the time everybody knew um I whand doesn’t really I think he’s a reasonable player but I wouldn’t say he scares me I don’t think there’s anybody in that team that I really really concerned about not like in the old days I really not scared of any player in that team I actually thought Garo was one of their better players obviously the one the creative one is Fernandez whe whether he plays him obviously the captain You’ think he probably would um obviously got history with him as well but I I this it’s just a there’s nothing in that team really that we should be concerned about I I’m not you know that thought of I remember the days when Manu used to come to Tottenham or certainly when we went Trafford you knew kind of what the outcome was going to be I just think we got a genuine chance in this game does doesn’t really bother me Manchester United I put them on the par they’re a good side obviously but I put them on the same sort of par as um that the sides that are scrapping around for the Europa League plays he’s probably like us in many ways you know so certainly nothing to be scared of definitely at home Craig score prediction I’m going to go 22 and Tottenham to win on penalties J know I was going to say exactly the same thing it’s so weird how we are always very similar in our predictions yeah yeah I don’t want that by the way I don’t want that at all yeah I I I feel like it’s down to the crowd I think if the crowd can really get behind the Spurs Boys on Thursday night you know it could be a glorious night and I love the fact that the uh the first leg in the semi the second leg of the semi-finals are so far apart because like Josh said earlier you know it’s a chance for us to get players back uh you know build that Squad up again and be strong and uh you never know um Melvin let’s get your uh you know feel free to give us predicted lineup if you don’t agree with Josh’s and give us your score prediction no I actually agree with Josh um I think on every single player um I don’t think he will start Spence I think um as much as I I think I’d like to see Spence again I just don’t think I think he rested porro for a reason you know I’d love to see Spence play Liverpool I wouldn’t mind that just throw him in the deep end to see what what he’s gonna do but but I play pedoro and I think that’s the lineup he will go with he’ll go strong we’ll have some options Off the Bench and um prediction wise I think we’re going to win 3-2 I think we’re going to be end to end I think we’ll concede um I don’t see us keeping a clean sheet I I it’ll be very difficult I’d love I’d love for us to keep a clean sheet I think we’ll score goals they will score goals I think we’ll both attack we’ll both try to go for the win and um and I think we’ll Edge it because I think we’re more settled Squad and we have a good attacking output and we’re scoring goals and Josh finally with you score prediction I think 2-1 the Spurs tomorrow I think it’s going to be eerily similar to the uh Manchester City game I think we’re going to start quick and then possibly be uh biting our nails by the end of the game just hoping to hold on um that’s how I kind of see it going um but it could be it could honestly be anything it’s interesting isn’t it us four Spurs fans have all gone for a Spurs win the two Manchester United guys have gone for a Manchester United win so we’ve all backed our CL uh let’s hope it’s a great game on Thursday um now before we do go um Josh is going to give us a very comprehensive update uh of the January transfer window uh players that we’re interested in players that we could possibly sign throughout January and players that could possibly leave Josh I’m GNA hand it over to you well where do we start Spurs have been linked in the last month alone with uh well over 25 players uh an fost saying in his press conference just today that uh he wouldn’t have time for anything else if he was going to have a look at all of those players so we know that a lot of it will just be nonsense at this sort of time of year approaching a window there’s a lot of talk from Agents trying to push through moves for players um I’m going to be very careful when talking about some of these players I’m going to firstly go through players that we have been rumored to be linked with and a little bit of background on some of those including whether I would take them or not and then um I’ll talk about some of the players that we do have uh that may leave the club or their Futures might be in question as well as players I think we should be targeting but let’s start with goalkeepers now of course frasa forer has been stepping in for the injured Vicario doing a pretty good job but I think it’s widely accepted that Spurs are looking for a a goalkeeper um or in the market or at least open to a goalkeeper so there’s been three main names linked with the club one being James Trafford uh from Burnley 22 years old um he’s got pretty good stats when it comes to shot stopping he’s young he’s English he kind of fits those bills uh and I think he would personally be good in terms of providing competition for Vicario I think probably the natural progression next season would be Forster becoming third choice um I I don’t think we’re going to get a goalkeeper in this January and I think the club will probably also monitor the progress of Josh Keeley who has been doing a fantastic job at Leighton Orient as well but that’s one that’s been linked as well as Anthony Patterson the Sunderland goalkeeper again he’s pretty highly rated he’s slightly older 24 years old um but Sunderland fans seem to be pretty happy with him he’s another one that would fit the bill in terms of being English uh I think this is a sort of recurring theme a little bit um but I must say the times I’ve seen him he looks pretty good but then again the Premier League is a is a different beast and then a bit of a left field goalkeeper that’s been only recently linked with us is John Victor the 28y old BOGO goalkeeper he’s been described as a man Mountain 6 foot five um and he played a massive role in BOGO Sera success in Brazil as well as winning the copper libertadores as well which is no mean feat this some uh he’s certainly a winner if anything else not quite broken into the Brazil team yet but with Allison and Edison I think that’s going to be pretty difficult then in terms of Defenders um one man that’s been linked with us recently Omar Alder the paraguayan international at H Tafe so believed he’s got 13 million just over 13 million pound release Clause he’s a center back that can also play left back um now I had a look at the stats comparing him to our center backs and he’s pretty good for those that do like the stats he’s very very high up in terms of take On’s Progressive passing uh kind of moving forward his overall defensive stats are not the best but at 27 years old and at that price tag he seems to have the hall marks that would suit an ball and there are rumors that an postao likes him whether they’re true I have no idea he’s a player I must admit I’d never heard of until I saw these links so um God knows how how he would do if he did come to the club um but there are a few players that I certainly have seen a lot more of one being David hko the 27y old finard left Center back who can also play at left back that’s another recurring theme we seem to be linked with center backs who can also do a uh a job now he’s a bit of a goal threat he scored uh several goals already um over the last few years including that um The Equalizer against Manchester City in the Champions League again versatile good on the ball has a bit of experience he won the league under arest slot uh he was fantastic for him in that fine or side he’s one that I would personally love to see at Spurs as I think he you know it’s a it’s a real upgrade on Ben Davis again it’s not to criticize Ben Davis I just think longterm we need to be looking to have four players that can really compete and someone that can give van Deen a run for his money and as well as you know we know he’s got these hamstring injuries someone that can really um step in so hanko I think would be a great option um he’s been talked about around about 35 million pounds which wouldn’t be out of spurs’ price range as supposed for a player like hko who is playing in the Champions League um I think where we are in Europe whether we’re in the champions leue League or not might define whether we can get a player like that who’s also been linked with other clubs like Liverpool for for obvious reasons another one Ilia zabani the 22y old Bournemouth Center back Ukraine International now for those that like the stats they don’t read particularly well but I think he’s the perfect example of why you watch the game with your eyes and not with stats um every time I’ve seen him I I’m very impressed he seems to be sort of every improving um really comfortable uh on the ball of course with andon Iola at Bournemouth you know he’s used to playing out from the back which is good to see um and and great for an ball and he’s pretty dominant in the air as well I think that’s something we really have lacked is that Center back that really can command I think drasin certainly has given us a little bit more but um I think that’s something that we can say is perhaps a criticism of of all of our center backs is they’re not quite as dominant in the air as we’d like to see zabani certainly is so he’s one to watch I think again with all of these Premier League players that we are linked with price tag is always going to be slightly difficult there’s always we know what it’s like buying from a Premier League club you know whereas you might find an alternative for cheaper like alderete zabani at his age and with his kind of constant improving for Bournemouth uh he’s one that I’d imagine would be quite expensive he’s been quite heavily linked with Chelsea amongst other clubs as well another one that’s slightly odd uh Pascal strike the lead’s captain has been linked with us uh recently left-sided player um he’s been impressive for leads um and when I’ve seen him he’s looked pretty sturdy but at the same time you know even today there’s been you know reports about leads saying are they too nice I’m not sure that this one makes a lot of sense um certainly not of a quality where I think is he better than Ben Davis I don’t think he is so personally not one I would take and just today we’ve been linked with Milan scrar again of course we were so heavily linked with Milan scrar over the years when he was an Inter Milan proven winner he was described by Antonio con as monstrous he’s now 29 he’s a winner of course um he’s having he’s having a frustrating time at PSG he’s not playing an awful lot he’s not First Choice um but I think he’s a pretty classy Defender um both my myself and my dad um follow into very closely my dad grew up watching into all the time in Italy so always kept an eye on them and and he was a was an amazing part of that in title in heide under con um and there’s been talk about 15 million pound price tag I think in so many ways he would make sense um but he he doesn’t perhaps fit that bill in terms of being that diverse left-sided Center back but what he does bring is a wealth of experience um a big personality and and a lot of quality and at 15 million pounds if the price tag is to be believed I think that’s a no-brainer um but competition with uh some Turkish clubs I think Galatasaray are quite interested in him moving on to the midfielders where else to start but Johnny cardoso the betst and USA international uh 23 years old very defensive minded and of course Spurs have a clause to buy him for 21 million pounds part of the agreement in our sale of Giovani Lelo everyone that I know that watches La Liga I don’t really watch an awful lot of La Liga says that he’s a particularly impressive player um and he’s one to watch um really really dominant in the air uh in the air on the ball he’s not really a progressive passer certainly more fits the bill of that out andout six so with that deal um that we do have for only 21 million pounds and his age uh I think this is one to watch not in January because he’s come out recently and said uh that he has no interest in moving in January he’ll wait until the end of the season but he’s one that I think we absolutely could uh could sign in the summer I’m not entirely able you know I can’t say whether he’s top quality or not because I’ve not watched enough of him but he’s certainly one I’m going to keep my eye on to a couple of players that I have seen a lot more of David fratesi the inter Center mid 25 years old box tobox good on the ball I think this one’s probably quite unlikely because first of all I think you you do see Italians rarely go to the Premier League or rarely leave Italy full stop um and for a lot of reasons I just don’t think it makes a lot of sense I think he wouldn’t cost an awful lot of money but I don’t know if inter have to sell um but also I think what we all want to see in a center mid is someone that is is a dominant six and I’m not sure that fresi quite fits the bill to me he just seems a little bit too similar to some of our other midfielders papsa basuma perhaps you know I’m a big fan of fretes I think he’s a very talented player both for inter and for Italy but it’s not one that I could see happening um but whether ptii is still involved in some capacity which I believe he is uh you can never rule out a player from Sera and to another player from Sera one I think is highly unlikely now but a player we were very heavily linked with in the summer that’s Atlanta’s Edison um truly outstanding footballer I watched the Atlanta Real Madrid game and he was for me the best player on the pitch incredibly good boxto boox he’s great on the eye um Man United and Juventus have also been linked with him recently um and the price tag that’s being talked about rumored to be around 42 to 50 million pounds so again not impossible but not one that I can see Spurs doing in January at all and I certainly think he will be a player playing Champions League football next season regardless of whether it’s for Atlanta or or elsewhere and I think with Atlanta in the title race in Sera I I don’t see him going anywhere at the minute they’ve also started well in the Champions League so you can effectively rule that one out straight away a couple of other ones slightly odd Andreas Pereira from Fulham is one that’s been re linked with us um I think this is certainly more of a rumor 28 years old um I think we’ve all seen plenty of him at Manchester United and at Fulham pretty tidy player Premier League experience he scored of course at anfield at the weekend I like him but again does he offer a lot more than our current midfielders I don’t think so so I’m not entirely sure where this makes sense um again it’s not a player that I’m opposed to per se but not one that I would prioritize in any way shape or form um Andy duth the 21y old lws midfielder is pretty tall pretty strong I must admit this was a YouTube jobby for me today uh he appears to be very strong left footed um reminded me of dembele but then again when you watch a YouTube compilation I think a lot of players look like Musa demele so I’ll take it with a pinch of salt but one thing that certainly did strike me was how dominant he was how big he was and how good he was shooting from distance I was saying and I have said on the podcast many times how I would have loved amadu Onana and he has a lot of similar traits to amadu Onana and lon’s um are no slouchy in French football either and at that age um maybe it’s one to keep an eye on because Spurs seem to keep going for young players so um certainly I think he could play that six role um and he’s one that I would probably keep an eye out on whether it happens in January or or Beyond he’s he’s a player that I wouldn’t be surprised if he continues to be linked with the club if he carries on playing the way he is another one Angel Gomez again former Manchester United completely rein venting himself at liil they’ve been magnificent in Europe this season um and of course breaking into the England side um the one thing that worries me is his size he’s obviously very small but he’s incredibly Nimble I think the ball seems to stick to him like glue and he seems to keep things ticking in that Midfield I certainly think that there could always be room for a player like Angel Gomez in any squad especially um with that sort of element of Reinventing himself the chance to bring him back to the premier league and prove a point I think there’ll be other clubs certainly interested with him but from a selfish perspective I’d love to see Spurs have more England Internationals I think all of you guys probably agree as well so he’s one that I would definitely like to see at the club whether it’s you know there’s any truth into it who knows at this point but he’s a a player that I certainly suspect will be linked with the Premier League for some time um and certainly if not in January into the summer as as well but just given where Le are in the Champions League at the minute I I don’t think he’ll be going anywhere um and nor does he need to right now at 24 years old the last midfielder I’m going to talk about is Rio hatate the Celtic player of course scoring in the um Scottish cup I don’t know what Scottish cup it was there’s so bloody many of them um but scored one of the penalties in the shootout against Rangers of course he’s played with an POA cogo he’s won lots of trophies I know people will automatically criticize and dismiss the trophies that he is winning because he’s at Celtic however uh for a player to have played with an for an to know and trust that player he’s got an immense work rate every time I’ve watched him I’ve been impressed with him and he does like a goal or two as well um he’s one that I could certainly see happening and I think if a club like Spurs going with a fairly reasonable you know transfer fee I think Celtic would be hard stopped to uh to keep him then of course Marcus rashford let’s go to the forwards let’s get this one straight out the way I think it’s impossible with his enormous wages all of his off field troubles I mean he’s from from crashing his car to going out on on nights out when he shouldn’t have been it’s been really sad actually to see Marcus rashford um not quite hit the heights that we all thought he would earlier in his career but let’s not dismiss what he has done this season seven goals and three assists he’s only 27 years old but I I think where he does fit the bill in many ways just those wages I don’t think I can see that happening and also Manchester United they really gonna sell to Spurs I I don’t think so um so I think that’s one that we can probably categorize as just a classic um a classic you know rumor that we we get link with these types of players you know every so often when the form is bad we need a long-term son successor so uh I don’t think he’s the answer now someone who I think could be the answer is Omar mamush the Frankfurt forward 18 goals and 12 assists in just 23 appearances this season he is seen very much as The Prince of Egypt to Mo Salis King very much the heir to the throne in Egyptian football and he is from what I’ve seen of him at least incredibly talented two-footed quick great finisher incredibly versatile I think we could definitely play him off the left as well will he cost a lot probably because of the form he’s in uh and I think actually probably the the biggest task of getting a player like omo marush would actually be the fact that there is so much competition for a player like that that that may well drive the transfer fee up you know I’m sure there’ll be the likes of Bayern Munich Dortmund uh Liverpool other clubs interested Arsenal I think have also been linked with him he’s playing Europa League football for Frankfurt and he’s just a magnificent player on the eye so one that I definitely think could thrive in the Premier League and one that I would love to see at the club uh Matas CA from Wolves of course Prem proven eight goals three assists just 25 years old same as marush absolutely electric at times but also other times not so much I think it’s quite hard to judge uh him this season with how bad wolves have been but one thing you can say about wolves is he has been the standout for them of course in a bit of trouble recently for misconduct after the IP switch game uh the only thing I would say on Matas kuna don’t think it’s possible in January nor would I expect wolves in a relegation battle to to sell him I think regardless of whether they stay up or not he will not be a wolves player next season I just think that it’s one of those players that I can’t see the price tag being anything less than that of similar to Rich Arison around the sort of 60 million pound Mark you just see how these transfers go um is he the answer to replace son potentially he’s been good off that left are there players I would prefer to him probably but again if kuna comes to the club he’s not one that I would be disappointed with at all and the last one that keeps getting linked with Spurs window after window it’s been Relentless I think it’s been the same for about three years now is Jonathan David also at liil 17 goals four assists this season including six uh goals and three assists in the Champions League including the qualifiers I think uh it’s four goals in the Champions League proper I mean he’s rapid he keeps improving year on year he looks set to improve his goals tally uh on last season and could be available for free in the summer so with that being in mind that’s one that maybe could happen in January because because a lot of clubs will once to try and get ahead and try and agree either a pre-contract or or or just get him and Lil might want to cash in but I think in the form that he’s in I think Lil would possibly take the hit Jonathan David again is he better than Dom sanii well it’s pretty hard to tell he’s not played in the Premier League before but I certainly think they’re a similar level um I think they were challenge one another and he is a different type of Striker absolutely rapid so I certainly think that that would give us a bit of diversity a bit of a bit of options in the forward line so Jonathan David is one that just keeps getting linked will he be the Leandro damau of of recent times potentially we’ll have to wait and see but with 17 goals already this season I certainly don’t uh think that Spurs will be top of the list in terms of his preference to move I’m sure he might see himself going somewhere slightly higher than Spurs but he continues to be link nonetheless in terms of Spurs players uh Rison rumored interest from fluminense I think their president came out recently and said that they’re interested Saudi interest remains um there seems to be just constant rumors about Saudi Arabian interest with him I just wonder if Turkey might become a player in all of this because turkey seemed to be doing a lot more in the transfer window um I think it’s going to really depend on what happens with his injury I don’t think the club would have discussions with him about his future until he’s fit I just seem it seems a bit odd that they would do that and I think also Spurs to be honest need to get him fit and firing before the end of the season if they’re going to recoup any sort of fee for him because at the minute it’s not looking good so um it’s one of those that hopefully he gets fit I think all of us would like to see the end of Rison at Spurs just because of the constant injuries but I think think that that’s one that is more likely to happen in the summer hopefully he can get back and fit he can play a big role until the end of the season and then we can get some sort of good fee for him uh I I think it’s highly unlikely that he’s going to move in January especially when he’s not fit another one to look at is Tyrese Hall um hardly featured he hardly been in the squads in fact for Spurs even though he was uh one of those real shining Lights of the under 23s last year and everyone sort of thought that he would get a chance this year um I think that’s one that would probably get a uh a loan move away um and actually I see a Rangers Fan commenting just now maybe somewhere like that would be a perfect low move for a player like Tyrese Hall I’d love to see him get some minutes away teim o Vera um we all want to see the back of him I think that’s fair to say but what I’ve been reading in everything that I’m seeing is that leig will have the final say over his future they have to agree to a deal to terminate his loan early which given how poorly he’s been playing it just seems frankly impossible um to me I guess an’s public criticism of him it just felt like one last rally and cry to get something out of him I think we can all see that there is something in him but he just does not seem to be able to get it out of him I mean we everyone in everyone wanted te o Vera when he was banging them in for leig the first time around um but I I just don’t know what has gone wrong sort of mentally for him to be kind of in this position um so again as frustrating as it is I think we’re going to be stuck with him until the end of the season I would be shocked if Spurs do buy him permanently or or loan him again after this season um and another player I think to watch out for is Eve basuma I don’t think again we’re going to we’re going to get many players out um but Eve basuma is one that I think a lot of people are growing frustrated with I think that um an’s reaction to his um woeful tackle against Chelsea kind of summed it up and when I watch Eve basuma I kind of think what do you actually offer us as a football club and he doesn’t offer a great amount okay he’s quite good at shooting from the edge of the box but his discipline I mean he was just suspended then from the Chelsea game for um after the Chelsea game for for Southampton he is a player that increasingly seems to be a liability and I think he’s one that we certainly should be cashing in on when we can and then of course finally Sergio regulon no future at the club that’s very obvious we’re not going to extend his contract he’s not going to want to extend he’ll be a free agent in the summer if we don’t agree a deal for him now I think spurs’ preference would probably be to try and take a hit and accept a little bit of money for him in January if not we’ll lose him on a free he’s one that I I would say with 99% certainty leaves in the summer and just finally um a word on Ashley Phillips now with all of the sort of defensive troubles that we’ve had and the injuries it’s been um you know asked the question of you know will we go and bring him back to the club I’ve seen conflicting reports but the latest that I’ve read is that we do have a recall clause on his contract but he’s only played 11 games at Stoke and he certainly not pulled up trees so I think to be honest for a player that young I think we should keep him where he is and allow him to continue his development I’m not sure what else we’re gonna gonna gain by getting him back I’d much rather see us go out and get a center back but on to players that I actually like and think we should be targeting uh at the minute I think it’s clear we need a left-sided player I really like Leaf Davis at ipswitch one goal two assists since coming up to the Premier League he’s got a wicked left foot um at 24 years old as well I think he’d fit the bill good competition for oogi but he is Newcastle mad He’s from Newcastle Newcastle fan you know if Newcastle have a sniff I think there’s only one place he’s going but I certainly like him nonetheless uh another one Anthony Robinson would cost probably quite a lot 20 uh 27 years old of course getting two assists at anfield he’s rapid he Prem proven um I actually think there’s a case to say in fact a very strong case to say he’s better than a doggy uh and is that what we need to do I think actually there’s certainly an argument to say that I think we could improve on a doggy and maybe that gives him the uh the lift that he needs I think he could certainly benefit from real competition there uh and Robinson would probably be my number one player if I could bring someone in um at left back uh another one another Premier League left back Milos kirz linked with Liverpool Bournemouth um 21 years old very very impressive every time I watch him awful awful haircut not that I’m want to talk um but he is very very impressive every time I see him uh priz tag sort of rumored around the 40 million pound Mark uh I think he’d be great at Spurs again arguably better than Udi at this moment in time will Spurs spend 40 million on a left back when we have oud doy I’m not I’m not so sure um so as much as I like all three of those players will we get any of them I’m not entirely sure it’s more likely to be an 18 year old we’ve never heard of but hey ho that’s to hbur football club um a couple of midfielders Carlos bber of course who doesn’t want Carlos believer incredibly talented 20 years old Brighton it only means one thing huge money um I think he would solve a lot of problems he’s absolutely rapid a goal threat as well um and in that six room to develop but will Spurs go out and and spend crazy money I I I highly doubt it we seem to be that one club that never gets that top Brighton player so can Spurs do something different who knows I’d love him nonetheless uh and another one Tani reinders the 26y old AC Milan um midfielder I’ve spoken with Melvin a lot about Reyers um he is just so great to watch on the eye he’s uh not the most defensive minded but he’s pretty well balanced but also he’s uh a bit of a goal threat as well I think seven goals and three assists for Milan this season Dutch International um I think that him with kevi and saw in a Midfield or benon or what a Midfield we’d have if we could bring in a player like that I’m going to try and rattle through these quickly because I know I’m banging on um Brian and buo is I think an obvious one for us rightwing 10 goals two assists in the Premier League this year um always scores against Spurs so that’s probably two three goals less that we con seeed every single year he’s got a great shot on him uh keeps improving rapid would give us a lot more I think than Brenan Johnson currently offers and he’s a very different type of player certainly would run at his Defender um again price tag he’d probably be I’d imagine around 50 million pounds but I’d absolutely love him at Spurs I think he’s just that right amount of age where he’s ready for a step up and I think Spurs would be a great option for him of course Liverpool also linked with him um with all of the sort of speculation around Moos Salah I’m going to throw out three leftwing options uh all probably unlikely but players I would like nonetheless and no I’m not going to mention karet skela or Nico Williams I think as much as I’d love both of them uh they’re just not going to happen completely impossible given the way that Spurs operate unless some miracle happens but actually Jamie gens 20-year-old at Dortmund X City Academy nine goals four assists English really really impressive at Dortmund seems to be getting better and better long-term successor to son is what I think we need and he certainly would give you that uh Anthony Gordon at Newcastle I think he would be far out of our price range but again I’d love to see us have more English players um and I think he would offer a in terms of his pace and his Premier League um experience again that’s only something that I could see happening if uh Newcastle are forced to sell for financial reasons the other one I just want to throw out there not really linked with him at all but Mikel o aabal the 27y old ra sadad Winger of course the man that broke English hearts in the Euros final he already played 41 times scoring 13 goals for Spain six goals and two assists for him this season clearly a winner lots of experience playing in Europe’s top competitions just bringing in someone with that bit of caliber I think we we would massively benefit from and just finally I’m going to throw in a striker shout Liam dap uh absolutely bullied us when we played ipswitch young 21 big presence good on the ball um and gives us something slightly different to sanki in terms of the uh the way that he attacks Defenders it’s slightly different again fits the quota probably wouldn’t cost a huge amount of money but someone that I think could definitely compete with dom sanki now of course just to summarize um you know I think Spurs do need proven starters we need players to actually improve on our starting 11 not just provide competition that is the thing that Spurs need to do to take us to the next level uh will we do it well we’ve got Daniel Levy as chairman so you never know but hopefully we will have a active January as I say i’ imagine two players probably come in will we get any of the players that I’ve mentioned probably not because it’s Spurs but here’s to hoping anyway but either way that’s that’s the Roundup Josh thank you so much I said comprehensive wow what a what what an update what a what a array of players that you’ve mentioned there um we’ve all got one question each for you um in terms of numbers an poog will obviously want to strengthen his Squad in the January window realistically Josh we know how difficult January can be how many players do you think we will bring in how many players do you think an po coo will want uh in this window I think there’ll probably be an element of not wanting to spoil the apple cart um certainly at this moment of time and I’m sure that like anything bringing good players in can unsettle certain players but actually I think that’s what we need at this moment in time we desperately need leaders we need people who know how to play progressive football so you know some of the players I’ve mentioned certainly the Bournemouth Lads and hat you know know how to play that type of football uh and I think that’s massively important we need players who can hit the ground running but also I think really we need uh we need players who are going to give if a want of a better term a kick up the to some of the players in this squad who haven’t been pulling their weight they far too many passengers at the start of this season and we’re relying on players to step up of course uh Archie gray and Lucas bergal kind of change things slightly because they may decide they don’t need a midfielder that would be the Spurs thing to do we don’t need a midfielder because we’ve got players fit again meaning that gray and bergal give us enough cover I still think Spurs are going to want to bring in one or two players do Sim similar to what we did in January last year of course everyone I think was taken by surprise with how quickly we acted and I would like to see us uh act quickly again but to really put a number on it we we’re we’re just guessing at this point because with Spurs you simply don’t know um Josh the last two January transfer windows we bought you know famously kvki bonor dragin who are who are impactful signings do you think posto will have a list and if if we cannot get these targets he will say I’ll just play the players we have and Bin it off for the summer well I think the thing with Spurs and this is the the cycle we have to break out of we’ve got one of two problems one this reluctance to end uh or break our wage structure which is always going to hold us back because you immediately rule out the top top tier of players um but also I think there’s an element of um we do need impactful players I think you’re right and I I would expect us to do sort of similar to last year um but I I think hatate is one that I I really do like um and and I think a lot of fans here are are talking about this as well now in the comments you know liking the idea of someone that can come in and and make an immediate impact I think he will have a list of players but the thing that we have to get out of the habit of doing is getting third fourth choice all the bloody time um we need to be a club that has our Targets in mind and goes and gets them and I think we’re starting to do that um but we need to continue to do that especially in January I don’t want to hear the excuses of oh it’s tough to get players we’ve got more than enough money to strengthen this squad in January um but whe whether we do it or not you know it remains to be seen we all know the excuses that the club will come out with if we don’t but just with where we’re at competing on all four fronts still um yeah we we desperately need reinforcements we cannot allow what has happened to us in the first half of the season to repeat itself and for an boster cogo to be talking about having to rely on the 18y olds to step up because we cannot play anyone else yeah thanks for the update um Josh really really good and comprehensive of all those names you said and there were many the one that interests me the most actually um was Omar M um I’ve heard him mentioned before I’ve I’ve I’ve seen him you know just clips on YouTube the old thing but I mean how How likely do you think is they’re going to go for somebody like that I mean his numbers are very very good and from what I know of him he would fit the system um is it just paper talk do you think is that or is that one more likely than not if you can even say that well there there’s been loads of reports about spur sending Scouts to watch him not just this season but last season as well um I think the big thing with Omar marush is the secret is out there now he is a player like Victor jarez last season now everybody knows who they are and everyone sees the quality and wants uh wants a piece of it uh one of my one of my best Mates is Egyptian and uh he’s he Egypt mad and the stuff he comes out with and says about Omar mamush um you know when when he’s that excited and and I don’t think Egypt fans have a huge amount to be excited about all the time um that says something um I think of course there’s that kind of natural feeling that we have that players that play in the Bundesliga should in theory suit the Premier League little bit better than players perhaps from La Liga or other places um because it’s a more physical League look he’s got all the qualities that Spurs need he’s quick he’s two-footed in many ways he reminds me of son he’s been playing more of a striker role this year but I certainly think he could do a job out on the left as well um the issue is the competition as I say the secrets out there and when you’re producing the numbers like like that you know 18 goals and 12 assists in just 23 appearances in the Bundesliga and Europa League I mean that’s just absolutely outrageous numbers he’s already one player of the month in the Bundesliga this year um so uh certainly whereas Spurs had an interest previously and and may still have an interest um we’re now going to be competing against probably some of the biggest clubs in Europe who are looking for that top player that can take them to the next level and and certainly I look at a club like Arsenal with all the complaints that they’ve had about Martinelli um of course Gabrielle jayus somehow scoring a hattick tonight seems impossible that that that would happen but there we are uh still you’re feeling that they need an attacking player I just think that there are other clubs that may have just as much of a need as us and the only way you’re going to get a player like that is by going out there early offering whatever wage practically that they want and seriously first of all no messing around on the transfer fee they name the price you pay the price and you offer wages that the player can’t refuse because clearly what is on offer at Spurs is the opportunity to be son’s successor and spend you know the next five 10 years at the club as that you know star man but son is still the captain he’s still there at the club he’s still vitally important so you can’t offer that to a player right now so I just wonder if that might put a player like marush off he might want to go and be a nailed on starter straight away and if he feels he can do that at the Champions League club then then I think he’ll probably opt for that instead but one to watch for sure I don’t think it’s entirely unrealistic it’s not in the the sort of garez Realm joshh thanks so much for for that very comprehensive transfer update we’ve got to have you on again very soon to do exactly the same thing because of course the transfer window now opens uh in less than two weeks time so it is coming round pretty quickly uh of course we’ve got a number of games coming up before that though um Josh thank you so much um for your time this evening uh you’ve been absolutely great uh where can people find you on social media and Melvin thank you so much for your time let’s hope that after Thursday’s game we’re all smiling on the Spurs chat podcast again uh let’s hope we can go into the semi-finals now um let me just tell you and confirm that Arsenal are through to the semi-finals as Josh said uh jayus scoring a hat-trick against Palace at the Emirates uh at the time of recording this podcast uh Newcastle brenford is in the 9 4th minute and Newcastle winning the game 3-1 oh actually it’s just fulltime it is now uh a result 3-1 to Newcastle so Newcastle are through and the Southampton V Liverpool game they are in the 83rd minute and Liverpool are 2-1 up so it does look at the moment like Arsenal Newcastle and it looks like Liverpool will be going through so it’s going to be a very very tough semi-final uh whoever goes through Manchester United or Spurs let’s hope that of course it is Totten mosar football club thank you so so much for watching everyone um we always try to record these preview shows of about an
