I’m a little bit a dreamer and I believe in myself uh I also believe in the club uh I think we have the same idea the same mindset so um that could can can help um but I I I I I truly believe in the players also I know that you guys don’t believe a lot in these players but I I believe a lot I think we we have room to improve and um I want to try new things so you you guys think is not possible I think it’s possible we will see in the end right that there is Ruben am in his first press conference as United manager reiterating the belief that he has in these players and what I’m going to do in this video right is run through I’m not going to run through the full press conference and the full interview with Gary Neville it’s like 20-minute interview with Neville and a 20-minute press conference it’ll be a bit boring for you so what I’ve done is I’ve picked out four or five points in the press conference and a couple of important points from the Gary Neville interview that I think sort of explain why United fans are excited and also why United fans are allowed to be excited I’ve already done a video on that I think it’s slightly strange how people are sort of saying that you’re not allowed to be excited about Amon because oh you’re excited about Eric tenhagen looks what look what’s happened football brings you back in it does every time and Ruben and yep I’m ready to get hurt again anyway I want to start with this point here now this was a question from from a journalist look didn’t these players get 10 hard to sack isn’t that the reason he’s no longer at the club it is a belief am room said like the word you have to believe in I believe in these players and he reiterated this time and time again and from all the sporting fans I’ve spoken to everything I’ve seen so far from all of his uh media duties or or the first interview with the club that connection with the players is clearly the greatest strength of Ruben am and that connection with the players Sola had a connection you know every manager in their own way has had connection with certain players but not the whole Squad that is what Ruben am is going to be focusing on and this part down here I think is really important when he was SP speaking about have the players themselves lost confidence in their own ability and that point down there at the bottom about that mindset because that’s one of the most frustrating things that we’ve seen at United is how even in a game even in a in a moment in a game how they can just switch off awful in the first half come out second half firing exact same tactics exact same players Ruben’s got to get them playing like that from the very beginning and I really like this point here that he made so many people uh because Ruben am was being very successful as a young manager in Portugal all all of a sudden he’s a new Jose Mourinho anybody who follows his channel for long enough no I get frustrated when comparisons like that exist he’s the first Ruben am not the next Jose Mourinho and he just says here look I’m a different guy in a different moment football nowadays is different and I think I’m the right person for this moment because I’m a young guy and I understand the players so I try to use that to help my players and I said maybe it’s that empathy and connection that he can create with this squad due to his age that other managers have been unable to do is that going to be a reason I have no idea but he’s certainly a different guy I mean that how much is obvious and of course Ruben an spoke about his football you know go down here if you want to speak about the team and the way we play we lose the ball too often preach and we have to keep the ball better double preach we have to be better when we run back triple preach play as a team quadruple pre preach it’s all the things you want to hear and am just as much as he sort of reiterates the focus he and no reiterates the belief he has in the players he’s like we’re playing one way it is my way and something that he says quite often so far he was surprised at how much people were talking about the fact that United were going to switch a three at the back for him it’s more about the principles and in the Gary Neville part which I’ll run through next he he he speaks about how no I’m not going to change the the way that the academy systems play as long as they have these sets of characteristics the underlying principles where it doesn’t matter if you’re playing a back four in the academy as long as you play with these sorts of that work ethic in and out of possession then that’s transferable to a different system but if you don’t have those characteristics that’s where it will feel like a foreign team when you come up to the first team I thought it was a really good first interview first press conference just like it was a good first interview he has control he has charm I suppose well it does have charm has a great beard too Eric tenh hard’s first interview I enjoyed as well so that’s where I’m a little bit holding back but I’ve liked everything I’ve seen so far from Ruben am and in this interview with Gary Neville which was if you haven’t checked out it’s on YouTube um 20 minutes down with Gary Neville spoke about loads and loads of things and I won’t be able to cover them all in this video but the main one I want to focus on is when Gary Neville questioned him on casemiro and rashford and this is part of his response the main question here is has as a as a club have to set the standards right Gary was speaking about him about the players and said look I don’t think they should be going away having 5 days off and I honestly feel you can read through this quote here I honestly feel that Gary Neville and Ruben amm both have the same sort of logic in their head of the standards at the club have to be raised but they’re coming at it from two very different approaches one which is Gary Neville speaking about and that’s why I’ve highlighted that for me the big difference is time you had leadership and and it’s it’s kind of why I was so confused I thought just Roy Keane was wrong when he said about garnacho not celebrating when he scored a goal the other week because Roy Kean can’t empathize with what what is going on in gacho’s head in the same way that Gary Neville is not empathizing what’s going on upstairs with rashford and casemiro Ruben am is and it should be the the blame should be shifted it’s not about why the play is going away for five days they can’t possibly be flying away the question is why the club allowing them to have five days off therefore if the club is doing their job properly and setting the standards as Ruben am was saying then the conversation never exists it’s about root cause analysis you could on the surface level if you want you could jump on rashford’s back which unfortunately Neville did and others would have as a consequence or you can dig a little deeper and say well probably the club’s fault isn’t it for the fact that they play shouldn’t have had five days off in the first place and that’s the sort of shift in in in how you’re looking at it and that’s why like that part from Ruben am as well as this part here okay because this gives us a real sort of insight into how this new structure is going to be working and how it will work for Ruben amim he saying here at the start look that Dave braford he’s going to be the man in charge of making sure that this culture shift we’ve heard this before and it’s never stuck but it’s going to be Dave brownford job to make sure that the vision of that culture it all connects up at Manchester United clearly which quite interesting down here he’s speaking about Dan Ashworth right he’s saying it’s important when a coach says something that you have someone like Dan that says the same thing to the players that player then goes to talk to the agent and the agent will talk with Dan who will hear the same thing that connected thinking that connected voice that connected Vision that exists because tenh har every other manager previously had to be good cop and bad cop good cop when they’re working on the training pitch but if there’s any problems turns into cop and you still you point all the scorn towards the manager but now Ruben Aron is a head coach he going to be focusing purely really on the football and any problems past that go and speak to Dan Ashworth you’ll sort it with him and then Dan can be the bad cop and absorb that negative energy and an can just focus on what he needs to do on the pitch and this point down here I thought was a really nice point a nice point just a really good point interesting point that’s one that’s the word I want to use he was speaking about Jason Wilcox and he said it’s so important for me because we need to improve Carrington with the youth teams we need to create a profile for the type of players that you want in the first team we have to improve we have good players but we should be better from what I saw so as successful as our under 18s are right now Ruben amam is looking at the players that we’ve got in our Academy and thinking we probably need more profiles in there that match what I want in this first team and it’s interesting that you use Jason W Cox’s name there because Jason wox is proba I think we already knew this anyway but it’s kind of like the man on the ground at Carrington he’s the technical director the daytoday issues that may exist inside the training round or anything like that Jason wox will take those responsibilities and then pass them up to Dan Ashworth you can see the web of responsibility and how everyone as long as they’re on that same vision project 150 win the title by 2028 that Omar bar is set the positions of the people and now obvious and that’s a football structure support that’s what tenh har didn’t have and any manager post Fergie didn’t have and Fergie never needed and Rim’s got it and just to finish on this point here Ruben Aron’s speaking about Mason Mount and it’s so obvious that building proper relationships with the players is going to be the defining factor I think for Ruben amam because if he can do that and can you know what I’ve said as well creating that sort of not F well I suppose family environment but that Siege mentality at United of being able to close the doors of Carrington and every player is pulling in the same direction and anybody who’s slowing off others come around and they pick them up and they bring them with them that’s when United were successful and we’ve lost that and Ruben am of course I’m excited am I nervous about the new system sure am I nervous about whether this squad will be able to do what AM wants to do sure but do I believe him yeah I do do I believe that United will be a better Club over the next six seven months compared to what we’ve had in the last few yeah I do it’s going to be a journey but I feel pretty confident that there’s a connected vision from head coach the whole way through the club now and it’s all about transferring that to the players and ultimately we’ll see that with the performances and
