🕵️♂️ Transcript:
on Friday we witnessed the unthinkable Kyle Tucker traded by the Houston Astros has me wondering are we in store for more Unthinkable trades first regarding Vladimir Guerrero Jr the setup is here word over the weekend that he rejected a extension exceeding $340 million from the Toronto Blue Jays well hey isn’t that the whole driving force behind the Kyle Tucker trade that they weren’t going to be able to resign him so they traded him you’ve also got a ton of talk about Dylan CE the Padres is exploring offseason options which would include trading ceas and the Pittsburgh Pirates are open to trading Mitch Keller or Jared Jones The Jones idea boggles my mind so leave your comments Down Below on these three individuals specifically do you think we will see any of them traded this off season we’re going to dig into each of them let’s begin with Jared Jones on baseball trade values he carries a $4.4 million value you could do some serious damage to somebody’s farm system with this kind of value and I would argue the value is probably undervalued it should be higher when you consider how much control there is which we’ll look at in a second but the importance that Jared Jones plays with this Pittsburgh Pirates team and their rotation is Monumental like the next window for the Pirates to compete feels like it kind of rests on skes and Jones and Keller now Keller’s got more money attached to him so if you can find a take there uh that may be the Avenue but it feels like that’s the future now speaking of the future the Pittsburgh Pirates do have three of their top five prospects are pitchers Chandler Ashcraft and Harrington and their ETA for all three of them is 2025 but we don’t know how they’re going to pan out when they get there ask Atlanta Braves fans they have been told and and have had top pitching prospects for the last several years and they keep coming up and outside of Spencer schwellenbach and you had Strider um there’s been a lot of uh a lot of failure with those top pitching prospects if you’re Pittsburgh don’t you you tap this Source you trade Chandler Ash crafter Harrington the unproven Commodities at the top at the major league level when you think of Jones he’s under control until 2029 you can’t deal him right I’m going to answer for all three of these the question of should they trade the player before we do for each of them we’ll consider potential trade Partners first for Jared Jones I got four teams and when I put these four together the Orioles the Red Sox the Tigers and the Mets I considered is this team team in a winning mode they have a desire to make an October run and and potentially the World Series is that goal how’s the farm system look you have to have at least a top 10 or almost top 10 farm system if you don’t have the prospects to give up to get Jared Jones you’re not you’re not in the equation cuz I can’t see Pittsburgh spinning Jared Jones off for anybody with a considerable contract it’s just I don’t see it happening so you’ve got to have the farm system to get the job done the Baltimore Orioles are in need of pitching they just now here’s the thing about the Orioles they just swung a trade for Trevor Rogers at the trade deadline right they gave up stars and Kobe Mayo kind of wonder if the Orioles I posted it on the Community page earlier today kind of wonder if the Orioles are Mike Elias is in a is dealing with uh uh some some pride that he’s got to swallow here because he delts two pieces out of his illustrious system for pitcher and Rogers that appears to be broken are you going to deal more pieces for Jared Jones this would be a safer bet and if it cost mayo and stars to get Rogers oh my God what’s it going to cost to get Jones Boston just gave up a ton of prospects two top 100 prospects for Garrett crochet but believe it or not they could still swing this trade they have the pieces to do even this Detroit has the farm system and pairing somebody with TK scoble would be phenomenal and the New York Mets I think if they’re in the market to trade for a starting pitcher I don’t think they want to trade for a rental like Dylan CE and we’ll get into that in a couple of minutes when we get to the Dylan CE portion of the of of the video I I think the Mets would be looking for a player that they will have under control whether it be you know Luis Castillo’s contract or if Kevin Gosman becomes available you get a couple years to Kevin Gosman I don’t think they’re trading for a rental and Jones is obviously locked in until 2029 so these are the four teams considering the winning considering the farm systems that they currently hold they felt like the teams that could make a Jared Jones trade but do I think the Pirates should that is a question should the Pirates trade Jared Jones I think I’ve probably made it obvious at this point right my belief is no you do not trade Jared Jones you trade one of those prospects Harrington Ashcraft and I’m blanking on the other name it was Harrington Ash and Chandler how did I forget Chandler one of those three that’s who you’re dealing if you’re trying to bring in a bat because you’re looking for some pop you’re looking for Improvement on that side of things okay but go here don’t go to Jared Jones who’s proven he can do it at the major league level so again should the Pirates trade Jones no will they guys the answer for will they for all of these is completely up in the air and even if a team does make the trade doesn’t mean it was the right thing to do I believe this should be a no Dylan CE will dig into his situation next his value on baseball trade values is $ 33.6 million that is significant especially when he’s a rental we had $40 million for Jones 33.6 for CE I I think if anything that is an indication again of that undervaluation of Jared Jones Dylan CE is good but Dylan CE is a rental and Dylan CE is not an sp1 Dylan CE has shown that he can pitch to the level of an sp1 but he is unable to sustain it over an entire season he will uh spin out of control and spend uh you know several consecutive starts with you scratching your head wondering what happened to the guy from last month so Dylan CE is he on the Move here’s the situation in San Diego he’s currently listed as the S P1 let’s not get into that situation really the point to pay attention to here is that it’s CE King darish and then in this iteration of the rotation is Vasquez and Waldren this San Diego team if you trade Dylan CE and you’re trading him to rebuild the farm system your rotation doesn’t work and this San Diego team canot be non-competitive in 2025 too much money has been invested in really key players here with Machado and tatis you cannot you cannot go through a year with this kind of salary and not have a goal of going all the way and if you trade Dylan CE and you’re getting prospects back you got a problem and if you’re trading Dylan CE and you’re what are we doing we’re trying to bring in a bat well again we we’ve identified that that’s not really the area of need that’s number one so so what are you doing you going to trade Dylan CE and try to get two pitchers back okay well if you’re doing that then what what what’s going to have to happen from a value standpoint is those two pitchers equal the combined value of Dylan CE which means you’re getting two lesser than pitchers either way it doesn’t work I think if you’re San Diego you have to enter this season with Dylan CE and if things don’t work out you can trade him at the trade deadline but I don’t think you can afford to trade him before this season starts because this isn’t going to work and Joe musgrow for those that don’t know is not pitching in 2025 his season is over so you only have the one year of Dyan cease that’s the argument one year cease and we probably don’t have the money to extend him anymore with Peter seidler passing on the financial situation it’s different in San Diego now they’re not there’s an unlikelihood of them bringing him back long term so should the San Diego Padres trade Dylan CE well again before we give the final definitive answerer who would be in the market for Dylan CE we had the four teams for Jones and we’re only going to bring one of them back because I believe there are some teams that would value or not value would be okay trading for one year of Dillan CE because in some instances these teams would probably immediately turn around and try to work out an extension let’s throw them up on the board four teams the Baltimore Orioles are back the Baltimore Orioles could trade for a rental here and maybe try to get an extension done this time they did not get that done with Corbin Burns but you were dealing with Scott Boris there I don’t believe that Dylan CE his agent is Scott Boris I’m actually going to look that up real quick on the Fly I don’t think it is guys is it it is Scott Boris absolutely never remind that statement you cannot do that deal no shot are we doing a extension here so you will be if you are the Baltimore Orioles running it back you are going to have the one year piece maybe that takes the Orioles out of it but the other three teams I can see them making the move here regardless the Atlanta Braves the Texas Rangers and the angels the angels are here because they are trying to be aggressive trying to make some moves is there a tailor Ward for Dylan CE trade to be had you’ve got a Texas Rangers team that’s sure uh bringing back Nathan naldi is a good move and you got Jake deg Grom but if you’re the Texas Rangers and you’re trying to get back to the World Series you need to add more to this rotation relying on significant Innings from Kumar rocker Jack ligher or any of these other young pitchers that are still making their way up I I I think again if the World Series is the goal uh is probably not the best plan they will eventually reach an Innings limit and at that point you’ll be in the postseason and best case scenario they’re pitching out of the bullpen so I think the r could be aggressive and the Atlanta Braves they Tred to get Dylan CE uh last off season they could be right back in the market for Dylan CE this off season so we really highlight those three teams again the Orioles did the Corbin Burns thing last year would they do the Dylan CE thing again I think it really boils down to do the Orioles get desperate and feel like other options have been exhausted Burns has gone somewhere else uh they don’t like flare to come back Manaya goes somewhere else if all other options are exhausted Lardo gets traded to the Boston Red Sox then maybe the Orioles are in a situation where they they consider uh this as a a necessity but at the end of the day what do we think should the San Diego Padres trade Dylan cease I mean I’ve been I think pretty clear through this this whole portion no I do not believe they should they need him with without him they’ve got a two-man rotation with three question marks outside of King and darish if you get to the trade deadline and the season hasn’t gone the way you hoped it’s a whole different story trade him at that point but now before the season starts when you still are hoping to compete I don’t think you can I don’t think the return that you are going to get is going to be significant enough because you’re going to try to thread that needle can we get pieces to help us now and down the road and I don’t know I just don’t know if you can get both in a Dylan C trade next up is Vladimir Guerrero Jr Vladimir Guerrero Jr is here because again we had the report over the weekend that he has turned down an extension offer from the Toronto Blue Jays now his value it’s different he is not a pitcher pitcher is get get the premium uh his value is much more reasonable if you’re a trade partner trying to to bring him over at $16.8 million and part of the driving force here is that he is a free agent at the end of the 2025 season we just saw the Kyle Tucker trade go down and while it is sort of a motivator or a driving force for Toronto to maybe consider it I don’t see a world where the Blue Jays get a similar return I don’t I don’t see them getting an ESO parades type with three years of control uh they’re not going to get a top they’re not going to get that plus a top 100 Prospect plus a pitcher the caliber of hay wineski I I don’t I don’t I just don’t see the Blue Jays getting that same return uh Kyle Tucker is uh a tier higher than Vladimir Guerrero Jr overall with everything that Kyle Tucker brings to the game Vladimir Guerrero Jr is a feared bat but so is Kyle Tucker on top of it Kyle Tucker’s running Kyle Tucker’s playing right field uh Vladimir Vladimir Guero Jr is playing first base so it’s not Apples to Apples but it is kind of relative enough to where you start thinking about it and if you’re the Toronto Blue Jays you’re thinking about well we’re now facing a Crossroads and the future of this franchise feels like we’re running up against the wall here and we’ve got vlat we’ve got Bo I have been of the belief that you should extend vlat and trade Bo but things have changed the wotto sweep Stakes completely changed my opinion on the matter and I do I now do not believe that Vladimir Guerrero Jr whether that report of the extension is uh true and factual and legit or not I don’t think he will sign an extension any offer that is put in front of him kind of just sets the bar kind of reminds me of the WAN sto situation in Washington where Wan sto got a offer it was huge but he said no and all that did was set the bar it was going to be north of that considerably north of that because of how early on in the process that extension was offered it was going to be more than that whatever the blue jay’s offer vlat as the extension right now it’s going to be more than that when he’s in the open market and that almost sets the bar it’s almost a bad thing at this point for the Blue Jays to offer an extension because again that just it just goes up from there but the whole trade bow extend vlat do you need to flip that with B on the team is it a extend bow trade blatty situation should the Toronto Blue Jays trade Vladimir Guerrero Jr and if they do who is going to step up I mean the first team that has to come to mind is the New York Mets right but if you’re the New York Mets why would you trade for somebody that you can just go and resign in free agency next off season because that’s likely how this is going to go down anyway whether he is whether you trade for him or whether he reaches free agency or whether he stays in Toronto or is traded anywhere else he’s going to be a free agent you’re going to have the opportunity to grab him at the end of the 2025 season if you’re the New York Met so for the whole Vladimir Guerrero Jr trade partner process you have to you you you you you we’re we’re going to move on from the New York Mets because again I believe the Mets are a team you you cannot you cannot feel like we’ll just sign him next off season we have the means and we have the motivation we’ll just sign him next year you kind of have to feel like you would be a long shot to sign him when he reaches free agency so that is element number one the other element is you have to have an opening at first base or DH so let’s dig into it first team what about the Seattle Mariners now if the Seattle Mariners were to trade for Vladimir Guerrero Jr the Luis Castillo trade has to happen and I’m not saying it is a Luis Castillo to Toronto and Vladimir Guerrero Jr to Seattle thing but maybe it is and Seattle would send something else with Luis Castillo to make that trade happen maybe that’s the deal and if you’re Toronto you get your pitcher Toronto has been linked to Corbin Burns you get Luis Castillo Luis Castillo’s locked in for three more years with a vesting option for fourth year maybe Toronto would love that idea especially if they get a prospect from the Seattle Mariners as well and we know Seattle’s number one objective this offseason has to be to improve their lineup what about the angels had the Angels listed earlier for starting pitching they are being aggressive they want to win they want to increase their payroll Ry Moreno believes it’s time to turn the corner here I know the angels have noan Shan well they have a first baseman but Vladimir Guerrero Jr for one year even if there is no extension possibility here I think the Angels could do it it would bring a star in and this team pairing him with Mike Trout if you’re Arty Moreno and you’re looking for ticket sales that would definitely draw a pretty strong gate the Arizona Diamondbacks this would be a team with Christian Walker heading out the door this would be one hell of a replacement pair him up with one of his buddies lordes guel Jr and the two of them can go at it and you get one year of Vladimir Guerrero Jr would you do a Vladimir Guerrero Jr for Zack Gallant trade both of them are free agents at the end of the 2025 season Arizona you probably don’t want to do that because your rotation is kind of built around Zack gallon but could Arizona be in play and the San Francisco Giants now San Francisco is a team that I’m throwing in here I don’t I don’t think that they would uh consider themselves long shots for signing Vladimir Guerrero Jr but this would definitely be their best case their best chance to get Vladimir Guerrero Jr would to be in a trade and they have pieces that the Toronto Blue Jays would like they have some young pitching that they could include in a deal and would take this team again as San Francisco trying to climb their way back into the conversation in the National League West this would be one hell of a way to do it you signed Willie Adamas you extanded Matt Chapman and you trade for Vladimir Guerrero Jr you got Logan Webb you got Robbie Ray you got another maybe Splash that you make in in free agency for another starting pitcher uh go get Jack flare all of a sudden San Francisco starts to look kind of interesting here’s the question though should the Toronto Blue Jays trade Vladimir Guerrero Jr I think the answer is no I think the Toronto Blue Jays need to hold on to Vladimir Guerrero Jr and try to make one more run will they I don’t know it’s a whole another that’s a that’s a whole different question will they trade him if the return is there I think they will I still think it’s unlikely though because if you trade him you are going to take all of the blame for him leaving if you get to free agency and he walks you made a solid offer you matched the Mets best offer and the Mets came in at last minute and added another option that took the deal another 50 million and you lose out hey the Blue Jays could say we tried but from a PR perspective it would be an absolute nightmare to trade Vladimir Guerrero Jr so from a hey are we going to win next year mode and from a from a PR and from a business standpoint mode I don’t think they can trade Vladimir Guerrero Jr are you going to trade vlat and get a star back not if his value is6 to20 million As baseball trade values outlines and while that website is not the be all end all many times it’s close many times it misses miserably go look at the andrees gimenez trade uh that was a disaster for baseball trade values but many times it’s close as well well so if his value is 16 to 20 million because he’s a rental because he plays first base you’re not getting a star back for vlat what will happen time will tell those are my three or those are the three players that if you had told me a couple of weeks ago we could have legitimate trade conversations about I would have said stop it no way but we are here now with these three players leave your comments down below do you think CE vlat or Jones could be traded and make sure if you have not yet to subscribe and turn those notifications on I don’t want you to miss anything as we go through this offseason that’s it for me everybody I’m out of here hit that like on the way out and as always if it’s low let it go and if it’s High Let It Fly I’ll catch you next time
