with trade talks intensifying around the NHL the San Jose Sharks have been linked to a top defensive prospect and they have one player that is dominating in the NHL right now making them look like the future of the league we’re going to get into this and more later on this episode before we start I just want to give a huge shout out to everyone that’s subscribed if you’re part of the 88% that’s not into the fact that Macklin celebrini is a dominant force in the NHL now just looking at mcklin coming into his rookie year what’s your first initial thoughts on how he’s been playing he’s been playing fantastic he has been honestly a dominant Force so far and yes he is playing on a team that isn’t that great and probably won’t make the playoffs and are you know at the bottom of the standings but for a first season I mean I didn’t think I had that high expectations for him but he’s drawing a lot of comparisons to even Conor Bard and at this point with what he’s done to this point in the season and also I I found that the fact that he came back from injury and he’s continuing to play well pretty impressive as well he hasn’t missed a step either so he has put together a really really brilliant first half of the season and I mean looking at celebrating I know a lot of people are going to get mad and I bu people I mean Chicago Blackhawks fans but looking at celebrating he genuinely looks like one of the biggest Superstars that’s going to grow in the NHL yes Conor Bard is one of those guys we’ve seen guys like Matthews and McDavid grow into this as well but I truly do think celebr could kind of pass Bard going in and some key factors in this is the fact of how domin’s been controlled enturies per game we can see celebrating and these were about a week old or a couple of games old so looking at these they may have changed a bit but we can see his controlled entries per game he leads the NHL with 9.5 mckennon’s just below him we can see Conor McDavid Dy thatle eel there’s so many big names on this and it doesn’t stop there looking at this Puck battles one per game cele coming in at number one with almost five buck battles win per game John T you can see ctor Ryan O’Reilly tro he’s looking like a selki kind of guy and I’m not going to say yes CBR is going to go out and win the selki this year but he’s looking dominant winning Puck battles playing the defensive end and once again it continues on N end rushes per game we can see Conor McDavid the fastest player in the NHL with 3.72 right behind him celebrating with 3.6 and then right behind that is a guy like barzel with two .6 the drop off is huge on this Darius looking at this does this get you pumped up of just the future for the San Jose sh and celebrating ceiling it does because you can look at the advanced analytics and it backs up the fact that he’s had a great season so far and some of these numbers are really impressive to be up there with McDavid for end to-end rushes and then the Gap from second to third to be that big is really impressive to me especially because it’s his rookie season like we’re we’re a quarter of the way through his rookie season this is the first time he’s played in the NHL right so it’s pretty impressive and you know even if you don’t look at the advanced analytics or even just stats in general the eye test if you turn on a San Jose Sharks game and you watch a little bit you can see that he is clearly already the best player on the ice sometimes between both teams right not just the sharks so he’s already that guy and he’s taking on a lot of responsibility I think the defensive thing like you mentioned as well is really impressive to me too because young players you know usually especially with high offensive side uh or a high offensive ceiling they come the league and obviously they’re really flashy but they don’t pay too much attention to detail defensively until a couple years into the career already he’s doing that with the sharks and they’re becoming a pretty fun team to watch honestly because of him and some other pieces that they added like Tyler to Foley as well so they’re actually becoming and Will Smith I can’t forget about Will Smith he’s an exciting young Talent too but um Salini has brought something to the sharks that is just fun to watch they’re kind of on the upward you know uh climb from the rebuild I think at this point in a way they have a lot of really good young pieces they just got to put it together over the next couple years so uh he’s been fantastic really really fun to watch and the stats back it up like even Puck battles won right like that’s impressive especially for a guy his age so he’s putting in the work and uh I think you know soon one day that they’re going to be rewarded for it and the Sharks will once again be on top of the NHL and I mean just looking at their lineup they still have so much more young Talent zand’s a bit older butland looked great you can see guys like Will Smith who had an awesome pass that we seen last game two Mario for this team looks like it’s poised to become one of the top teams in the NHL I’ve actually looked through their right at a bit and I seen some blackhaw fans coming and say hey how did you guys get a rebuild to work so well when they look at the sharks or at the the Blackhawks and it seems like Bard and them are struggling we see the Sharks coming out they look like they’re having fun they’re winning a few games and they’re also competing with celebrini being a top talent but looking at this the biggest thing they do really need to work on is their defense yes they have some veteran pieces yes they picked up a guy like Timothy Logan from the Toronto Maple lefs they brought in Cody CCE this offseason Mario Ferraro has been at peace with this franchise for a while but it does start with a few trade rumors coming out and this was per Frank Sher Val where he’s talking about David Ur and he says I don’t think you can count the San Jose Sharks out now looking at e he is a prospect sixth overall pick in 2022 by the Columbus Blue Jackets looking at this darus do you think the Sharks would be the perfect spot for a guy like Che to kind of land and grow I think that they’re one of the perfect spots there there could be a couple spots that would be really good for this player and the thing for me is he’s a really young player still so to put him on a contending team doesn’t really make sense to me because I don’t know if he’s going to make that much of an impact yet especially because he hasn’t developed yet this is not a guy who can come straight into the NHL because obviously he’s bounced between the AHL and the NHL and obviously I think as well you know he’s playing in Columbus that organization has been not great the last couple years right it’s a little bit of a mess there and obviously some of it is not their fault but most of it is their fault and uh it’s really hard to develop in a organization that’s been run like that and obviously having the struggles on Ice that they’ve been having as well so uh he needs probably a change of scenery at this point in time I mean he was only a sixth overall pick just a couple years ago there’s still a very high ceiling here I think if he was to be developed properly and you know an organization took care of him but I think the Sharks makes a lot of sense he can come up with all the young players as well he can you know potentially be a number one right shot defenseman one day that’s kind of what he’s been projected to be so you know eventually if you look at the Sharks lineup currently I think a lot of these players especially on defense will be shipped out at the trade deadline or at some point for you know younger assets they want to get even younger and I think they can get a lot of assets for them so they don’t necessarily need to trade off because again the criteria for this trade has changed a little bit Columbus has changed what they they want or what they would accept for a player like e as well so um I think that the sharks are in a situation where they can get some more assets and sell off some of their defensemen or even forwards at the Point some older players uh get some Assets in return and maybe flip it for a guy like eoch and then he can start to develop with the rest of the team and they could have a really scary team in a few years so I think it’s a really good spot honestly for E because again there’s no pressure either you can come in and kind of develop with the rest of the guys so uh it’s a good spot and an interesting fit yeah the biggest thing with eoch and you kind of brought it up was the fact that Chris Johnson did come out and they said originally Columbus wanted another Prospect a sort of kind for kind type of deal but now it seems like draft capital is something that they want want instead of the prospects so looking at the Sharks draft picks we can see they have three first round picks over the next three years you can kind of pause you can look through this but we know Mike Greer is not afraid to make some moves we’ve seen asra traded for a first round pick this was not the Shar first round pick they did move on from a different first round pick to acquire a young piece so if they go out if the Sharks want to sell a couple guys maybe it’s guys like grin maybe there’s a couple guys like Tyler defley who maybe will stay with this team for a little bit they need to keep some bets around but looking at this team there is a lot of players they’re going to move if your check’s not gone by then I would not be surprised if they just said hey instead of going out and taking a risk in the draft why don’t we flip some of these picks none of their own hopefully other picks they acquire for a guy like EUR but just looking Darius do you think it’s going to cost a first- round pick to get EUR Che or do you think if they put out multiple draft picks instead of just one first they could acquire a guy like this I think it’s possible but I think if you’re the Columbus Blue Jack is cuz you have to think on their side of things too this is your first over or sorry first round pick just a couple years ago so if you’re to trade this player for anything less than that it’s a colossal failure because you weren’t able to develop him to this point because obviously I think three years in you would hope that he would be at least you know playing in the NHL regularly right now and he’s not so I think for the Columbus Blue Jackets it’s an absolute failure if you don’t get a first round pick back and I think it’s probably going to cost that but there’s a lot of you know upside still this is a player who if you take care of him I think can be a really good player in this league there’s a lot of question marks around him yes but I think it has a lot to to do with the organization what they’ve been doing with him so far so I think if he went to a better situation uh it might be a bit of a better story and sometimes that cost the first round pick and it’s going to get quite interesting we’ve seen multiple reports I mean the Canucks looked like they were anony them the Oilers there’s so many teams calling about your check but apparently the San Jose Sharks are a team and on them so keep your eyes out for that but sharks fans what’s your thoughts about celebrating his dominance what do you think his ceiling could be do you think he could be better than Conor Mard someday cuz I’m saying it right now there is a high chance that I do think he can compete with them maybe they both become the face of the NHL and what’s your thoughts on probably or on possibility of acquiring your check and what would you like to give up for him but
