little bit later but that’s okay shout out to BJ on this episode and you know why thank you KK we’re right back here on a Sunday night thank you all for staying up with us if you did we uh definitely are sorry for the late video but we’re uh still here Ryan and I still here to recap Ryan the final score Huskies 67 Providence Friars 41 moves to Huskies to 11- two to stretch this long start of Big East play in conference right but I want to talk to you about what you liked about the game what you did not I’m done with predictions like I’m just not really but I’m I’m done with predictions as far as on last checkins because again not even close from what I predicted I believe but when you look at it uh husky did pretty well looking at the team stats uh from three for three-pointers three-point percentage I think shade I would love to see her get a little bit more involved earlier in the game I think she had her first uh shot in the third quarter Ryan so what was your takeaways on this one I’ll turn it over to you on a late Sunday not only that uh I did like the obviously Providence and Connecticut did a job well done there were some Hard Solid screens made today uh and some players running through them to try to get the ball so that was something uh both teams played great press defense it looked like from the highlights um so Ryan again Huskies on field goal percentage about 41% 26 of 63 uh again not the score that that I thought or you thought but they won and that’s what matters most well it definitely could have been it probably should have been about the scores we predicted but uh yeah I I I really liked how Yukon came out Paige was on fire in the first half and that’s the way I think Yukon needs to start every single game they get these big leads and it’s really hard for whoever they’re playing to come back from that I mean 28 to6 lead at the end of the first quarter is pretty crazy I that’s pretty good I’m glad ay is is back healthy back in the starting lineup again and hopefully that can stay the that way the rest of the season she’s going to be a really big part of what Yukon does and I saw the swap today that gin made ice Brady started on the bench Jan L Alfie in the starting lineup I’m a big a you know fan of that move I think Janna didn’t really get involved I’m sure like how she wanted to in this game but maybe it’ll take some time for her adjust to get in the starting lineup but definitely need a little bit more out of Jana if she does continue to start um I think uh Ashlin shade kind of struggled with her shot today as well along with ay fud um but hopefully for ay you know kind of get back into the swing of things pretty quickly she’s been in and out dealing with injuries again this year but I think today was a pretty normal Yukon win good passing good ball movement on offense and on defense it was just suffocating interrupting the passing lanes and getting steals but I’m still concerned ER though about Yukon not being able to play a complete game they should have won this game by probably about 35 or 40 points uh just from the way that they started I I just don’t think scoring 22 points in the second half is going to be good enough against the higher level opponents and the same problem Remains the Same about Yukon not having a third consistent score it’s always Paige and Sarah like it’s been uh every game so far this year but somebody’s got to step up eventually and be that third scoring threat most likely it’ll probably be ay when she gets back into her Rhythm hopefully but I think we need more production like I said out of Jana and ice from J down low as well as ashin shade Off the Bench but I will say I was a big fan and glad to see KK Arnold get over 20 minutes in this game her and Ashlin made a really big uh defensive impact coming off the bench today yeah KK Arnold did a really good job on defense uh yeah and and you know you still have a a 44 41 ball game uh if you take them 23 points away that Paige Beckers LED with right LED with all scores for Yukon but and then I’m glad you mentioned that because obviously you take away Beckers and then strong uh double figures today and scoring points and you what you have a loss so yeah I mean kind of little bit concerning but the Yukon Huskies again Ryan are in the win column to start off this in conference play long stretch let’s go over to comments from the last video the last check-in versus Providence and Bon Riley said last season at this time Yukon had five losses so why is it this year any more unusual oh excuse me so why is this year any more unusual than years before I think it’s I don’t know Ryan go ahead I think it’s just the way I didn’t think about it like that but I think it’s just the way that they are losing maybe I know it’s close games but a loss is loss I think it’s just concerning because it’s coming against the top teams in the country it’s that simple yeah I like I said it’s the same story as last year Yukon just not being able to get over the hump of beating the the top 10 top five opponents that they face and so it is a little bit concerning but you know I think as we string a couple of these wins together should go on a pretty good win streak here against the Big East opponents and hopefully that’ll get the team ready for Tennessee and South Carolina and hopefully we can win at least one of those games it’d be great to win both of those games I know the team’s definitely looking forward to that one in South Carolina it’s going to be another great game but I think just for the team’s overall morale and confidence just to defeat a a really top tier opponent will go a long way Janet Adams good point Ry more scoring and rebounding in the paint will balance Yukon scoring making the huskys a more difficult team to guard defensively yeah I I think it’s it’s definitely been a disappointing start for Ice Break because she started most the last year uh obviously returning was able to stay healthy unlike most of the players like Jan L Alfie which you know maybe give Janna a little bit more grace because of course this is her first season healthy red shirt freshman year but you know ice and Jana like I already said they need to find something down down low inside the paint maybe start shooting a couple more mid-range shots just to try try to get something going on offense because that’s going to help Yukon a lot if they can start scoring down low inside the paint it’s going to go a long way to help Yukon kind of break out of the the the offensive slump I guess you could say of just having two scores every single game about one more Jason DMO I agree with both of you the Yukon wins but I surmise that it will be a bit closer then we think I believe Gino is going to be experimenting with some different looks and lineups to try and find the best option moving forward although a lot depends on whether a and Aubry can come back healthy and strong the Yukon we see today might be a totally different team a month from now peace yeah that is true and we haven’t really mention Alber Griffin a lot but hopefully she’s getting pretty close to returning uh so that’ll shake up even more things in the lineup and give Gino another option that he can play I I think it’s been interesting to to kind of see what Gino’s done throughout the season so far on the lineup you know Morgan Chelli started to play a little bit more Ali zabel had a good game today uh made a couple three-pointers got a couple more minutes and what she’s uh seen in previous games so I I think Gino’s still trying to figure out all the different lineups and combinations that he wants to use and of course with Aubrey Griffin coming back assuming she’s probably going to start on the bench for for most of these games going forward when she does come back just because of how long she’s missed but I I think Aubry is definitely going to have a pretty big impact whenever she is ready to return all right Ryan we’ll leave it at that and shout out to Michael Lawson he said Merry Christmas feel and Merry Christmas to you Michael and Ryan same name Ryan McLean said I’m going to this
