look yuk we thought had a pretty much free trip to the finals of this one getting that very weak Colorado Michigan State Memphis top half of the bracket and Dayton should not have lost that game to North Carolina Dayton should have found themselves at worst in the third place game this is a a very strange matchup but you know it’s going to be a fun one which means that we’re going to have fun games all all over the bracket Maybe other than Colorado and Iowa state which is a conference game but not a conference game this is a fun Maui tournament we’re excited about it Yukon needs to bounce back subie what are you looking for out of Yukon they gotta pick up the defense that’s the first glaring issue uh and even Danny Hurley said that once you parse through all of his quotes about refs and woe is me which he’s been this way it’s just that he’s one and he has two national titles and he very well could get three maybe not this year but some point down the road like this is who Danny Hurley is but even he has come to the realization that this Yukon team doesn’t defend very well and if you dive into a little bit more guy I was watching their last two games they just I feel like they don’t move laterally very well which is funny like Rick patino last year talking about his St John’s team he basically said we’re not athletic whatsoever we don’t move laterally well and I’m seeing that here with Yukon they just don’t keep dudes in front of them which is kind of odd especially for a Danny Hurley coach team so you got to look for defense first and foremost second of all foul trouble has kind of plagued them in the last couple games I think Alex cariban and their loss uh their their previous loss to Colorado had a little bit of foul trouble in the first half I think he picked up two fouls which really the problem has been Samson Johnson and terce Reed I’m getting to Samson Johnson yeah like I trust Alex caraban to stay on the floor Samson Johnson though dude what are you doing and even in the minutes he’s out there he’s not really producing he’s get he’s picking up FL like technical fouls he’s fouling out at least terce Reed showed up in that first game right um but Samson Johnson you’re a senior like you’re supposed to be a leader so and you’re supposed to be a rim protector you’re supposed to help out with that defense simply hasn’t done it so I think what I’m looking for with Yukon is right off the bat a lot more of a defensive identity hopefully at least like guy these are tough man these mte are really difficult because you can’t you might be able to fix in the regular season some issues from a previous game because you have like three or four days of practice you’re right back at it you’re probably tired physically but also mentally they might just want to get the hell home to stores I don’t know they’ll bring it on the defensive end but that’s what I’m at least hoping to see what about you well yeah I mean look Dayton is going to be their hardest game I think by a long shot this tournament I mean Dayton you know they’re they’re up on North Carolina who’s a top 15 team in the country by 21 points with 16 minutes to go they just were super unlucky that Elliot cadu was in foul trouble because the second he left the game North Carolina you know stormed back I mean you in the sleepers media Discord which you should join it’s how terrible Elliot Kau was and oh Elliot kadoo the second he got foul trouble they’re right back in it against Dayton then you play Iowa State for my money they’re my national championship pick going into this year they’re pre my preseason number one after they lose to Auburn I think they fall maybe to number two maybe still number one I mean that was really a toss up of a game and Daton made that game a coin flip as well this is I think by far the hardest game that you you know Colorado is 15th out of 16 for Big 12 teams and lost to Michigan State pretty handily a Michigan State team that I don’t like I think they’re fine right I don’t think that they’re anything special and you lose to Memphis who’s probably better than both Michigan State and Colorado I mean they they beat both of them so I’ll say that they are better um and I think Dayton clears Memphis by a significant margin I think I I you know it doesn’t it doesn’t look good unless Dayton doesn’t play how they how we’ve seen them play which is very well you want to talk about uh Dayton Iowa State right right today I think I think if Zed key doesn’t have that flagrant foul towards the end of the game that’s probably a game that the Flyers win or at least you know look it’s a five-point margin at the end of the day I think without that flagrant foul it’s probably what twoo margin onepoint margin or a Dayton win or overtime right there are a bunch of little breaks that went different ways and you you know it that’s basketball but I think that very reasonably we could we could have seen Dayton in this championship game with the way that they played against North Carolina and then the way that they played against Iowa State and now you have you know two teams who very plausibly could have been in the championship game playing in the Seventh Place game I don’t like what I’ve seen from Yukon at all defensively you’ve gotten in foul trouble mahany has looked abhorent offensively and he’s not good enough defensively for him to to be worth playing I don’t see a world in which Dayton isn’t the the consensus pick I mean as crazy as that is to say consensus I like I like Dayton a lot I I don’t see anything in their game that there there there is to suggest that they’re a better or that they’re a worse team in this tournament than Yukon I mean what is your final score prediction presented by take Yukon 78 to 72 I think this is going to be another actually let me amend that okay I’m gonna take Yukon 7868 um the reason being is because I trust Danny Hurley to write the ship if you can’t give him a leash or if you can’t if he can’t earn your trust after two national titles right and they have some adversity now but I think it’d be foolish to think that they’re going to lose three straight I just don’t see that happening and I think Anthony Grant has some coaching decisions and has proven with some coaching decision uh that there’s there’s stuff to be desired um so I’m going to take in the coaching match up I’m going to take Danny Hurley to write the write the ship and get his guys to pick up themselves by their bootstraps and go win this game uh I think we’re going to see a slightly better defensive effort still giving up 68 but I just don’t see Yukon leaving Maui 0 and three like that is an insane stat to me and so guy you’re right like looking at the the previous games Yukon has struggled with Memphis who I I do think we’ve severely underrated and it’s easy to pile on Memphis and Penny Hardaway especi like it’s very chic uh especially because he got rid of whatever half his staff or whatever it was two prior season it didn’t look great but now theado who a lot of picked in the seller of the Big 12 Ted Bo can do a little coaching but I’m not excusing that like those are two games Yukon you would expect to win meanwhile Dayton did hang tough with two final four contenders and I love Iowa State as well and they were leading by decently significant margins all of that is true but I just keep coming back to the to this am I comfortable with saying yukon’s gonna go oer in Maui I’m not comfortable with that um I think they they write the ship a little bit there’s still going to be a lot to be concerned about most likely going home but they’ll get this win I think just a reminder you don’t talk that bad about Anthony grant that man is a national coach of the year in the 20192020 season you can talk about Obi topping all you want Anthony Grant also brings home that that uh award I here’s my thing just with Dayton I think if they go 0 and3 in this tournament I I really just that is the most undeserved eighth place in a tournament we’ve seen all year I mean they’ve played so well and Yukon just hasn’t and when you’re asking me to pick between a team that does well and a team that doesn’t and a team that has looked good and a team that hasn’t and a team that has had a harder schedule against a team that has a has had a weaker schedule there isn’t a world in which I can as as an analyst pick a pick the team that’s worse even if they look better on paper uh I just think that I look Yukon is probably favored the Vegas line is probably you know supporting them I just really like this Dayton team and I really don’t like the way that yukon’s looked I’ve been I’ve been the Yukon positive ity guy on on the previous View but I think it’s going to be a close game and Connor Hope Has His stat that he tweeted out against Memphis that he talked about in our preview and recap against Colorado Dan Hurley isn’t good in close games uh it I just think that Dayton has this and I think it’s going to be a close game don’t get me wrong I think yukon’s going to give them a run for their money they’ve lost their games by a combined what is that three-point margin give me Dayton 81 Yukon 79 I like that I mean I despite what like they’re two winless teams in this tournament obviously Dayton’s looked a lot better but again I just keep coming back to the point where I just can’t see this Yukon team uh dropping a a third game I don’t think Danny Hurley will allow it here’s what I will say though dayon deserves a win subie I mean they’ve looked so good against so much harder competition I totally agree I totally agree So you you’re reading my mind on this preview Guy this is for Dayton fans I’m very comfortable very comfortable saying you will beat Marquette on Saturday December 14th oh I like that subie I like that subie I’ve seen enough I’ve seen enough from Dayton to say yes confidently they will beat Marquette um you just got to take one more lump I think okay predict both of these seed seed lines come March man oh gosh I mean we’re already talk by the way Dayton’s lost these games I’m not a big like oh they played them close they played them tough like let’s not forget Dayton has lost these games uh come just just saying what team has looked better you gotta use the eye test man that’s true so Dayton are they a top 25 team absolutely okay so I would say Dayton’s they’ve looked they’ve looked very good but I think when it’s all washed out I could see them as a top 20 team so I’ll say Dayton’s gonna be a five I like that Yukon right now not playing like a top two team for sure but I do have again I think people have way too crazy reactions here in November I’m not burning the house we haven’t even eaten turkey yet and we’re burning the house down on Yukon I’m not doing it guy all right so I’m gonna say Yukon is gonna fall somewhere between like a two or three seed still I agree with that I was gonna put Yukon on my two line at this point well then that’s fine that means they’re a top eight team oh yeah know no I I think I think that they’re they’re very good I just think that right now something tells me that uh Dan Hurley might not be feeding him turkey for Thanksgiving I think he might be he might be feeding them some uh some raw chicken they’re going on a hunger strike dude he might make him like take a boat to the mainland and then walk home to stores they’ll probably have him row yep all right anyway this game will be entertaining at the very least we’ll
