Haven seing too much of AR out in the main Arena of late had one very good result this season semi-final of The Players Championship courtesy if that is holding a top 16 ranky at the moment but couple of earlier round exits in the Pro Series [Music] well decent opening chance here for our fan yellow’s all free and available just the black ball looks a bit dodgy he’s got a breakout ball near the eight ball but he’s going to have to turn up in quite a specific way just a technical issue here just getting the scoreboard and the clock out in the arena sorted our fans just going to go back to his chair for a moment spe just sitting looking on as well doesn’t really matter too much at the beginning of the match it’s bit annoying if you have a break like this when a few frames have been played cu the players have got a bit more to dwell on but right now no one’s really done anything important it’s not just the scoreboard but playing to a timed format the players obviously need to be able to see the shot clock properly right that issue resolved our fan will come to the table to have first look at these yellows resume 496 4926 should come up okay thank you time rning yellow so no issues with the yellow at the top of the table just in case of transitioning down some stage leaving an angle to get access to the eightball bit of an end of term fi today understandably end of the weekend and end of our final trip to Blackpool up here five times for the Pro Series this year on to some different venues for next year well he’s got an anle on the ball in the middle but doesn’t really want to have to take that first if he plays the one at the bottom it’s going to struggle to get back to the same angle if he can quite make the angle to any Cannon off this [Music] shot try to dig down with a load of side there but he’s the wrong side of this yellow just looking at the black leg it’s very close to that red and I don’t think even if he po those yellow and kick that other the red out of the way to free up the path for the black to double into the middle I don’t think it actually does double so I think the only shot you can play is run the run the yellow in and play the Black off the red into towards the bottom right hand corner [Music] okay looking at a double into the top right hand corner so this has to be played with a lot of left hand side to sort of widen the angle we’re going to see it before him that is wide sure angle was ever really there but what else did he have well when it was because it was touching the red I think if he went past it came back down into his bottom right hand corner it might have just pushed off there into that general direction anyway but Scott now going to B his time just a straight one cushion escape and it’s quite possibly he could cut this black in that corner it’s worth a try from his perspective airing on the thin side to give himself a chance of posing the black it’s not a high chance obviously it’s close great effort I’ll tell you what not b key ball either no it was a good result all around because ball over the pocket so some pressure on the safety and from being in complete control of the frames sc’s got a bit of a problem here going to have to play a good shot to get this safe ex oh great shot there from gasic played as a shot to nothing as you can see but it’s a kind of shot if you if you miss the pot you end up missing the position as well so it was important that he got that the two balls in the break area look like they’re not far off being a plant so there’s a rout to those it’s not ideal having the two balls at the bottom on opposite side Kion in fact things can get through behind the eight ball so that works as well it’s all about Landing nicely on the ball on the left hand rail that’s going to be the tricky one you’d much rather play the one on the left rail first not the one on the right rail cuz it would be difficult transition that way around didn’t have the angle to do that so he’s going to have to play it this way is he going to just play for the double on the one on the left rail or try and over that side of the table and drop in behind it [Music] [Music] that’s a good shot it’s never ideal to play the positional shot that way around because that middle pocket always played big and if he wasn’t quite close to it it then became missable about as well as you could possibly play it yeah very tidy from Scott Gilles speak this black for the opening frame W good finish in the end once our fan missed the eight ball could have expected Scott to be left a much easier chance than that had to pull out a pressure double to get underway and then a couple of other decent positional shots yeah lost to this man on your screen very good split but he’s a little bit peeved I think cuz he wanted an easier ball to set off with there’s that yellow hanging over that middle bag but he can’t get to it because of the red in the way you can’t get to the yellow at the top of the table cuz there’s a red in the way yeah reminder you can’t play Red onto yellow you Pop the ball that you color set that you hit first to take the nomination if you played red onto yellow it’s not a foul but it’s a lot of turn that doesn’t Choose You the color this could be one of those situation we just got to accept it take Reds because you can’t really play safe anywhere so take Reds which is obviously the hardest suit oh he didn’t want that tail of the off so far it has if you’re are fan here now you just we I’ll be very tempted to play that yellow at the top top of the table and try and move the black a little bit just bring it off that rail a tad well how many times does our fan come to the table with ball in hand then again if you do play that shot and move it move the black and white stay stuck to that rail you want to play with a bit of side so it just brings the cable spins on a little bit so he can see that ball over the middle bag or get far enough that you can cut the other yellow into that same middle yeah that’s really well done that’s that’s exactly how he wanted to execute that shot that’s as good as it could have gone you could also have ended up sticking the eightball in front of the yellow it’s absolutely perfect that it’s gone just past the pocket yeah those are the the little the risk you take just to get that away from that cushion I think it’s worth worth the risk yeah well especially with ball in hand where you can make the angle oh than he’s trying to nudge into the the red and yellows close together that didn’t do it but he’s okay because he can still play position onto that yellow and play into the top left so at the moment in time he he won’t be too concerned he just wants to make sure of his his root if he does play get to get on it you don’t want to be leaving himself chiny snooker bridging over the [Music] ball so he’ll be playing that yellow that’s next to the red now into the top left just want to run this in [Music] so he’s got his little bit of angle here just little bit careful of the just slide past it it’s quite close if you took go any deeper you you would have clipped it and left yourself a pretty niy shot having said that he could have done with another couple of rolls on the Cubo it’s going to be hard to hold him might to come back and play in the corner oh well that one wiped his feet but he did manage to hold for the black down it goes and half and dad now has a 4-2 lead against Scott Gillespie frames if you’re our fan now think right I need a couple the balls off this break I need to get my three frame cushion back here you know just over 10 minutes left on the match clock crunch that break made a ball and what have we got not bad not bad at all you take it there’s a little Bel to let you you know that it will be 15 seconds a shot for the rest of this match yeah that’s what that this match needs isn’t it to speed things up a bit give us a bit extra entertainment it’s been a very entertaining match just because the unexpected keeps happening it’s it’s been the tale of Scott gets in makes some kind of mistake and then our fan ends up having to take out a difficult clearance but gets given a chance for it shot yellow up up into the top right now might be tempted to play this just this yellow into the rail first and come off the red and go into the pocket just free that pocket up then for the other yellow that’s stuck at the top of the table you tried to play it straight into the red and this is why it was better to play that cushion first because you guaranteed to hit that red then rather than go into the red in a straight line which Alam was obviously rushed by the the shot clock and missed [Music] it SC using the extension now just to think through plot his roots around these Reds we’re going to see him get the whip out now it’s coming in towards the home straight in this match little bit closer than he’d have liked to have been to that [Music] red this frame is now crucial 54 or 63 and a chance to put some pressure on Ouran in a way that hasn’t existed at any point in this match pop this in red in the middle will come next just has to make sure he can see the the other red to pot into the bottom right and get the cuble up the table for the black so he needs to leave himself an angle here to screw this backou might have to take it a top he has done a great shot there just would looking at it if he played that slow into the middle he wouldn’t have left yourself I don’t think you enough to hit the hit the correct spot in the red to P it so this to leave himself this long black this will be two in a row for Scott Gillespie should he sink it very good from Scott Gillespie he was out of this match at one point he has dug very deep and now he is right back in this match so can he get himself back on level terms Scott Gillespie breaks off in frame 10 made a ball one of the fiercest competitors in the game Scott gillesby saw a moment in this match when it looked like he’d almost written it off in his head no he’s never giving up and now he’s really going to be sensing [Music] blood yellow balls in play [Music] [Music] [Music] see shot clock counts down pretty quickly is that a time foul I think that might have been this will be checked so the decision has been made it is a time foul and Scott Gillespie having ground his way back into this match and looked like he’s finally got Aran under some pressure just had a momentary lapse of concentration and it wasn’t at a spot where there was a ton to think about it’s just that 15sec shot clock can catch you out the most experienced players in the world under these conditions but can still cause you trouble this is a real relief for Ouran although it’s not done yet he really wants this Frame if he goes into the last three and a half four minutes of this match with a two- frame lead he’s going to feel like he’s in a more relaxed position but this is pretty binary outcome it’s either going to be five all or 64 it’s going to happen pretty quickly given this short shot clock so is this the shot is he going to take the long one off the table now just needs to screw back past the Y for access to the ball to the right center doesn’t need to do too much played it well this match has just been a tale of Aran being invited to the table with ball in hand in spots where you wouldn’t have expected it he’s very close as well to a time foul do just get the shot played in time it’s some real isn’t it this is more like the early days of ultimate pull when people weren’t used to that 15 seconds why you’d see this all the time he’s got to play another shot [Music] though well I tell you what this has been a nervy frame isn’t it just a bit big shot now this for [Music] 6’4 and it’s in and it’s in the heart of the pocket what a shot from our fan Dad see know both of these players well Nick it’s necessarily the the quarterfinal we’ have picked but only had a good run in the first event good form coming into this yeah for sure um a very solid win against Jordan Shepard in his previous match in the last 16 I think he won 73 and uh looking value as you say he’s had one Deep Run earlier in the season so on the ground scheme of things looking back over the last few years it’s been a pretty good season forly comes up against obviously a very very tough opponent here in Rona McCarthy and uh we did see oie play on Friday he wasn’t at his best um he’s probably going to have to lift his standard which I assume he has you know beat Jordan Shepard in the previous round you would imagine that he’s suddenly hit a bit of form which can often happen you know only he’s not one of the younger players in the in the um well I mean neither are to be honest they’re both in their 50s now I mean I can say that quite easily because so am I but got a lot of experience all around yeah on the table land in the commentary box yeah I mean if you think oie was probably at his Peak round about 2000 mid mid 2000s 2005 6 7 I think he won his European Championship 2007 but first thing this morning 73 so his fourth match he’s going to be hoping there two more after this now would I be right in thinking there was 20 years between KL Morris’s and Rona McCarthy’s World Championships 2002 2022 is that right Carl 2002 2000 was he 2000 so 22 years between them and he was the youngest ever world champion yeah would would Ronan have been the oldest yeah so they the book end those records yeah yeah 22 years between them and one being the youngest K Morris and he was 21 22 years old I think yeah incredible really because CO’s a few years younger than Ronan and won his world title 22 years before him well 24 years between ronan’s second one and Carl’s first one just shows how difficult it is to win those World titles both the fact that Ronan hadn’t won one before and the fact that Carl hasn’t won another one since that world title this summer was one at this venue World Championships held in Blackpool following series five and six back in June time one key factor in that World Championship win was that Ronan was playing so much pool that week he’s playing for Northern island of the team event and we just had the two pro events beforehand it’s probably understandably so with the young family and other commitments less of a practicer than a lot of the younger players but by the time he played that many matches he was obviously as warmed up as anyone I think he was just trusting a little bit to luck on that positional shot been difficult to not land on anything but I think it was in the plan to get quite as close to that bottom left pocket as he did he rattled the jawes he’s landed on this yellow to bottom right he’s also got the option of the one at the top of the table the top left but he’s choosing this one now he’s back in Prime pretty sure the AIL passes the red to Right Center so this should be a formality from here for a two- frame lead and it’s a lead you’d like to open up because probably has looked the steadier of the two players to three all with 15 or 16 minutes remaining it’s turning the whole match into fairly unpredictable [Music] outcome need to open the eight ball up to turn out okay like he was going to get stuck a bit awkwardly buy this red but get through to the middle of the cboard makes the positional shot easier now the fact that Red’s there is helpful part the yellow left Center just screwing into the red to hold position clearance from ran McCarthy two ahead now have any chance and a fairly open table if Rona makes a ball which he does then I mean we already saw him when he took the eight a second ago just killing the extra 10 seconds off the clock and he’ll be doing the same here he will be in no rush whatsoever yeah this is all done now because you actually have to make the clearance he could waste a minute or so just passing the loose balls see under no hurry whatsoever to hit this ball until we get down to a couple of seconds left that’s about as long as you’ll ever see Ron mcarthy died on a shot he was just waiting for the [Music] beeps it’s the right thing to do just to make sure it’s very hard to see any rout back fly but getting yourself into a winning position and opening the door to some miracle outcome for your opponent I mean actually this has come out as a really simple clearance from here so I don’t think he’s he’s still going to take the time I think this one is done [Music] so just the simple stuff to do now for RONA McCarthy had to fight in this match but he has had the better of his opponent for the most part of [Music] it I think it’s been a a really really good and clever performance from ran McCarthy very very deserving of the win another Deep Run for o Bell and uh he can take a lot of heart from that going into next season that’s a couple of good runs he’s had this [Music] year Well a very warm welcome back everybody the action is heating up as we have lightning Luke Gilbert taking on the Wonder Jack wheen and it is a disappointing opening break which means that it is the young Superstar Luke that has first opportunity here and S web and Nick fin with you on commentary and I always talk about Luke Nick in the terms of he’s the best player of his generation and I sort of Stand By it he is he’s not just the best player of his generation in my opinion he’s he’s one of the best players in the world yeah I’d agree with that he’s uh I’ve said it many times on coms before I love the the way he’s kind of grown into ultimate pull came through the uh the Challenger ranks you know served his time and I remember afternoon Sunday afternoon in stoon Trent where he’s bouncing around every table cuz he just squeezed into into the pro ranks in eighth place he was walking around cheering on Craig Wan wasn’t he needra to go well to earn his place yeah and uh and and here he is and he’s just gone from strength to strength yeah I I obviously I’ve commentated a fair bit with with Luke obviously you get to watch him play but when you’re watching them play you don’t fully know what they’re thinking you obviously can see their PLS and and their plans but you don’t always execute as you’re planning but when you spend time with him in the commentary box I I really love the way he sees the game how he think thinks about the clearances how he thinks about patterns and shot selection I just think he’s a I think he’s a really talented player key shot coming up here just got the wrong angle on this yellow he wanted to to try and leave an angle so he could come to the middle of the table play the right hand yellow to the right side pocket and uh and come below the other yellow to play it to middle but now he’s going to have to rout and it’s all about the angle here and he doesn’t have much margin for error because the yellow on the left doesn’t go to bottom left or bottom right doesn’t go to to left middle either if this is high it’s no good he can’t he can get across from there he may be able to screw on and off the side cushion I guess yeah well it has to go in off the eight1 doesn’t it so tough shot yeah one that wins the frame sort of quit on it a little bit I guess he was playing for the double rather than anything else yeah had to [Music] be no that’s high by quite some way as well so one loose position on shot cost lute cuz if he gets angle on the one’s top right he’s out you just come back anywhere near middle of the table you have the angle just to play short position on the one he’s missed as a double so one poor shot cost the frame or his chance at the frame certainly not a guaranteed counter here from Jack whe now it’s a bit it’s a little bit tricky that cluster of three Reds at the top of the table difficult to develop you’d love to be able to develop it from one of these balls over the middle but he certainly W going to do it from this shot he’s tried was a clever shot he tried to to Cann into the red and send the red up table to break them open now he’s looking at the angle on the one to top left but surely that’s too thin I mean you can load this up with with screw and right side may just be able to get across and flick them here’s your luck it’s still going to need some more work those two yellows they’re very close together may just be able to manufacture them into a plant later in the frame but I don’t think [Music] so he’s got the red to left Center and then he’s got the one to the bottom of the table and if he could plant these two he can come back up for them but I don’t think so he’s going to just flick across him and try and leave the cuq ball safe he’s open up the pocket he was trying to block the pocket that’s why he was digging so much to get the CU ball to the left hand side thinking there was a chance the pocket would be blocked yeah and then hope hopefully also trying if he gets lucky there he gets in behind the eight ball as well but neither came off oh he’s going to snoer himself no he’s okay it’s okay two chances for Luke which is rare at the pro level certainly in a quarterfinal of a pro series event does take the second one and he’s got the opening frame already had a lot of people um on the on the Tik Tok uh commentary yesterday on the uh on the stream asking you know how do I get involved how do I enter these tournaments and and some youngsters on there as well saying I’m 13 how do I how do I get involved I mean there’s so many upand cominging players out there that NE next gen I’m really looking forward to because there’s so much good talent you know 12 13 14 years old there’s so many good players around at that age that’s really exciting and it’s great to to have them playing within the the ultimate pole umbrella at that early age in in a formal environment where they can you know they can see a route to progression and they’re going to be rubbing shoulders with the professionals over those weekends as well which is fabulous for them yeah worth pointing out obviously the next J we’re talking about is is full no no harm in getting yourself on a on a waiting list again reach out to a up B for that but you know you could also enter the Challenger Series if you really want to be a part of it and you can’t get into the next gen um but it should be a lot of fun me Mev leading the way with the next gen you see a lot of Aiden The Apprentice on on Tik Tok oh Luke dear me not started here is [Music] he that’s loose he’s got a ball at the bottom of the table which I think he can get through yeah he can get through too but that really is [Music] loose and and that makes this ball missable because it’s in his mind that he’s just played a played a loose one and I’m not sure he’s on the one to the center again so one loose positional shots led to another yeah the cut back double it’s about all he’s got here I think which incidentally if he gets it would open the frame up but he’s got the option he could just tuck him behind that yellow play a little safety but with only three balls left on the table six Reds I think probably attacking from here double it is yes gets it what a recovery [Music] shot just got the wrong angle on the yellow I mean he’s kissed it out he’s just the wrong side of this yellow to be good could take it to middle and try and hold the cuq [Music] B maybe play a Canon or find yourself in the Gap what a shot that is that’s beautiful work of art that shot yeah yeah Best Shot he played this should s him down this really should I know he’s already one a frame but you know he was in trouble here and he’s found a way he’s found a way with a couple of really good shots also having made the statement of I want to be the number one player and then achieving it I just think adds even more to it set a goal and achieve it it’s brilliant yeah she’s absolutely come on the storm this season having a great [Music] season you can see what Jack thinks of it from the look on his face bit messy of the choice one ball to develop and has the angle to do it here in fact he landed way too much perect just needs to be careful of the Cubo here with the eighto guarding the yellow to the left he’s not guaranteed to be on anything Cannon this yellow out he’d love to land on the one he’s caning no good has he got it to top left does it just pass that yellow can he get through to the potty angle it’s pretty tight may just be there there always a danger with that shot as I say he was not guaranteed to be on anything did go oh I didn’t think he was on that one still got the chance then [Music] showed you there where he wants to be popped his hand down on the table [Music] and the reason he had to be precise there is I mean the natural shot is just to float across the right hand side cushion but the Red’s in the way and he wants to avoid that red so he’s just looking at the angle he needs just to leave the natural Gap I think he’s he’s still come just slightly slightly short when he placed his hand was more towards that white line he should be able to float up into this Gap from here perfect don’t think he’s going to get close to the eight ball trying to just hit the gap of the Reds let them separate and cball stays pretty much where the The Two Reds are I don’t think he can do anything more than that yeah doesn’t want a full ball contact cuz he could push the red towards the the eight ball and cover but I don’t think he’s going to just just as you say finds this Gap separates the Reds leaves himself a half ball pot executing well is Jack wheen it’s a very good game so far yeah first frame or two was a little scrappy but since they’ve both kind of got their Rhythm and found their feet out there the standard’s been brilliant the six W shoot shoot out well unlikely you know if the table ends up really messy it’s a possibility that’s a break w what a break that is very little chance of the table end that messy when he when he absolutely pummels it like that yeah and look at this is it’ll be deflating here for Luke Gilbert he’ll look at this looking for problems looking for issues first thing it catches my eye does the eight ball pass to the bottom left hand corner and it’s tight yeah I think it goes red anyway so no but I think the eight ball still won’t go oh I see sorry pass together yeah my mistake so might have to move that but he has does have the perfect ball to do that I reckon that passes I mean even if it does pass he may he may elect to move it anyway just because he’s got a couple of balls above he’s out a look now yeah I think that tells you that he’s going to move it I’m I’m surprised that he’s leaving it late to move it if he was you know cuz you’re going to be bumping into it you might not be on anything so must go he’s going to leave the red he’s going to leave the red over the middle till last to land on it got be honest it doesn’t look like it goes to me from the overhead just looked a little bit [Music] different Luke was hoping it didn’t go tap of the leg he now knows it does it still has to be made it’s not guaranteed but it’s uh he’s going to be right behind it and it is going to be this ail for an excellent Victory heart breaking for Luke really having fought and battled all the way through just wants some kind of chance he’s not going to get one look a little bit more room there and no mistakes for Jack W and he comes up with the goods he comes up with a brake clearance in frame 13 and the Wonder marches on to another semi-final [Music] Stevie demp is going to get first chance in this one and it’s Ste Jameson with you here on the com alongside Nick Finn good afternoon good afternoon set yellow balls in yeah last of these four quarterfinal matches and some would say save the best or last this is a a great lineup yeah it’s been a very very good series of quarterfinals and get the feeling that this one is a particularly meaningful one for these two players both of these guys would dearly dearly love to to win an event this year ending style slightly different reasons oh it’s going to be foul and Ste going to get hand the first proper chance yeah still it’s not exactly great is it yeah work still work to do having ball in hand yeah he can just continue to control can’t he he might play the L of turn here I think yeah I think just hide the yellow clears the the uh the red from the pocket hies the cube All In Behind These two yellows yeah just like that takes control now he’s got a few balls near that middle pocket that he can ED to have add up the situation at the bottom of the table as well so Advantage Stevie Dempsey in the frame [Music] [Music] still two problem areas for yellows think Steve you’re going to deal with one of those now just it’s not quite what he wanted um it works of a fashion because I think he’s now left possibly left the three plant may just be able to I don’t know that may be there just really depends on the angle yeah I think it it sort of works yeah I think Josh has just got to try and stay in this match here yeah he needs to needs to put some cover across that aall that’s okay that works but yeah it was Stevie was trying to leave that yellow out in the open so he could use it to develop uh his other ball now we find out whe that uh whether he can manufacture that plant some serious mileage still to come in this first frame of the quarterfinal that’s better that’s what he wanted just that to the left hand side of the pocket Josh has been made to work really hard here not exactly the first frame heer wanted think that’s for short must been touching b just rolls into the rail thing is for for Josh here if Josh is to somehow win this Frame it is it’s going to take a while he’s really really got to plug away at this to get himself back into contention cuz he’s a long long way behind in it it’s difficult for him to do that because he’s constantly got to think about making sure he doesn’t let Stevie in as well yeah desperately doesn’t want to open up the yellow just wants to make Stevie develop the yellow that’s next to the red the more he keeps nudging it the more chance there is that he’s going to push that yellow open did he get the cushion yeah looks like it but now that yellow is open I don’t think he’s quite got the angle but I was wondering if you could maybe find a way to try and pop that red over the top left corner pocket is there a way you can brush off the yellow and go along the top rail I don’t I think it’s too far away from the top rail keeping Josh out of the Kos and uh just push that yellow a little bit further along the rail so if he gets a similar shot to the one he had last time he’s that yellow will pass the red to the left pocket so just needs to make sure so much so he’s looking he doesn’t really want to play into this red was just looking at the one cushion Escape recognizes that Stevie has still got that ball tied up on the left hand side he’s going yeah I I can see why I can see why I think he almost got to the point where he’s like you know I’ve got I’ve got a half chance at going here if I if I take it and I get it you know I might be able to do something but I think that was all he was restricted to he might not have got a better chance was his decision making there Steve you still got plenty of work to do on the yellows that is a lovely shot though oh it could have come out nicer but I think he’s on the angle to develop it straight away if he wants yeah eight Paul is really his problem here as you say he’s got well he’s he’s got the angle now but he’s looking up table thinking about clearing these two at the top of the table I think the plan is to yeah I don’t think you can turn down this angle that’s the thing he’s so well on it you’ve got to take this now even though in an ideal world oh Ste sloppy nothing here [Music] needs to be careful here that’s clever oh I don’t think he’s quite covered the on to middle I think had that red traveled another roll he would have only left a horrible plant to middle but actually Josh can get through this Gap so swings to Josh now and he’s the one with only one bad ball look to leave an angle [Music] here yeah obviously you wasn’t didn’t have a good angle on the on in Middle otherwise you’d have tried to come above the red on the left hand side to come and attack that problem at the bottom of the table so he’s going to have to go up now and then work its way back [Music] down still doesn’t have the right [Music] angle he’s looking now move the one to Middle doesn’t have to do too much to develop that red only needs to nudge into it and he’ll he’ll leave the one the red above it into the middle so there’s a decent chance here just come down almost like a full ball contact I you’ve got fairly big Target even if you hit the gap between red and yellow you may it’d be hard for this not to come out May have a choice of two after this shot does lovely could take either here just depending on preference whatever he feels is easiest to get onto the eight [Music] ball the closer you get to the eight ball the straighter you land on it the easier it will be the target will be on the cushion just above the middle pocket just about there I mean he’s played that inch perfect 10 minute frame to open the account yeah and a big big frame win for Josh Kane it’s not the one that he would have liked I think everyone almost wants to start with you know a nice break and run get themselves into the game get themselves into a bit of Rhythm no rhythm here whatsoever just came back on the break was tuno up now finds himself pegged back oh how’ you like it ball in hand from B time running semi-finals ready to go on the conclusion of this game well it’s won’t be on the conclusion of this game it’s going to be about 5:00 this evening it’s going to be off and dad against Rona McCarthy Jack wheelen awaits the winner of this match extension extension [Music] C yellow balls in play [Music] for for [Music] [Music] just needs to manage this shot this is key [Music] couldn’t have come out much nicer for [Music] STD oh that’s a lovely shot yeah really played that well so well judged it’s a fairly natural line but picked it perfectly [Music] [Music] well 32 three in a row for Stevie D mentioned how big it could be to put together runs like this when it feels like everything’s a bit up in the the air with 4 minutes left on the clock if he’s just sat there thinking it’s not my day today then it’s game over but with 4 minutes left on the clock if he’s thinking I still got a chance and I’m in this which that’s where he needs to be that’s where his mind needs to be I’m still in this these yellows are unbelievable I mean the Red’s aren’t bad what a break that was to pull out from Josh Kane he’s got options here yeah Red’s is going to be a quick clearance here red balls in and uh you could easily be backing this right this is if ever there’s a game that has screamed at us from frame number one shoot out it’s this one just so you know coming up next it will be Amy beum taking on Cur lead D fantastic gaming prospect that one Amy getting over the line against Becky Watkins 6 h 76 wins the hill hill deci side it’s a tough one to take for Becky who was well up in that game but you can never count a champion out just drop this dead weight it’s good it’ll go direct but he can also use the yellow if he wants to just chops it in dead weight 2 minutes 40 is going to be left the clock you want really one thing I would say is if there’s anybody you’d want to make a ball for break here and run clock it probably would be Stevie Dempsey he’s exceptional with his clock he’s only he’s only going to be able to well especially now I mean there so many balls gone in oh well you can see that just the top left corner of the picture I just saw a bit of movement in Josh’s Corner he’s I think he’s given up the ghost he thinks it’s all over it’s not absolute gim me that he’s got that got that red on the on the side cushion he does need to do something with and he could play four shots here and take the best part of a minute off the clock Josh would still have a minute left and there’s only six yellows on the table yeah this isn’t done and dusted I’m almost certain St will leave that Red so last unless he feels he can really comfortably develop it I think he lands just above the yellow to the bottom left Corner Pocket last ball for the eight ball cuz what he’ll do there is he’ll hang it at the top of the table and we’ll make Josh’s counter clearance difficult if he does miss this is going to be an intriguing last minute and a half you’ll hear the beeps on every shot here and that’s by [Music] Design that’s perfect oh is he yeah he’s just below the straight that’s perfect just drifting behind this red on the side rail play absolute pocket weight and you fancy him to get it I’m not sure he can get across to too straight he just came too far so it’ll be the double so he won’t have that level of insurance but minute left he needs to punch this as well to straighten it up it’s just it’s just a fraction low this is the a ball basically this goes in it’s over and it Jaws w we Josh Kane time to get your skates on you’ve got 50 seconds to force a shoot out he’s pedestrian what’s going on Josh you’ve got 48 seconds my friend let’s get going someone put a rocket up in what’s going on here yeah you’ve got to go quick here Josh looks very calm and composed he must be aware maybe it’s just me that’s p well we certainly would be if we were out there wouldn’t we Josh looks he’s taking it in stride I mean he’s literally just sauntered out of his chair but he’s played this to absolute perfection oh my goodness we’re going all the way here we’re going all the way two shots away final 10 seconds need that C a stop behind the Reds and we’re going to shoots out 1 second left on the clock just came sa we’re to the side the 50 minutes and we will see who is going to be our final semifinalist with a six red shootout quickest time wins semi-final place up for grabs for the fastest time and just that oh that’s a great double he needed that to go in because if that hadn’t that would have cost him probably seven or eight seconds and this is going to be a fast time he may look back on that double as the shot that won it for Josh Kane oh cubal needs to stop that’s cost him a couple of seconds oh that really did that looked like a 21 second time there that probably cost him 3 seconds that CU track yeah he knows it it’s par but it could have been excellent yeah 24.4 was The Unofficial time we’ll get it confirmed it would it was around that sort of 24 second Mark maybe be wrong there but here we go 24.44% nice oh the the ball going above the middle pocket I mean he should be okay there yeah I think he’s got oh how good is that how good is that from Stevie Dempsey settles down and thumps in the final R what a six Sho at what a match and the hammer is an ultimate po pro series semi-finalist Once Again D Dy brilliant performance in that six red shoot out after a bit of a mixed performance in the match itself it’s fair to say I think now one win away from potentially getting that number one spot so a lot to play for for both of these ladies we’re expecting quite an attacking game Tony both of these two like to get on with it yeah great lineup here with May against kiry Lee probably theion well it could Grace any final it has been plenty of finals before as well so it will be very cut and thrust and attacking lost in the semi yesterday to Lucy Smith and maybe went for one or two too many they in the defense it was kind of just the way the balls went she forced into going for a couple of clearances that weren’t 100% jobs things have split out nicely just getting that confirm that if she does win this match that will be enough ranking points to get the number one spot she needs to outscore Harry Haynes by a couple of thousand and when we were talking about it in comes last night we thought that that would probably mean winning it but unexpected early exit from Harriet Haynes so just getting to the final will do the [Music] job this ball really nicely for Amy for this first frame these two both fantastic shot makers we saw some unbelievable shots from Kirsty last night in the final yeah she’s not afraid to go for a big pot that’s for sure both these players that’s their main [Music] weapon tough match to get to this for Champs had to beat Becky Watkins great clearance in the deciding frame to win that match there was a time when Amy was so dominant over the rest of the field that she was getting to pretty much every final and always being tested as much but there’s no reflection on her level that hasn’t dropped but there’s now so many other players that are running much closer than they used to I mean really it’s Testament to how well she’s played over such an extended period that everyone else’s got so good they’ve been kind of learning from her oh Cannon she didn’t need fortunately for Amy there just stopped in time so she will have a clear view of this black into the center well no mistake great great start from Amy Beach [Music] and strange sort of way I think the fact has become more attainable the point of last night’s final it seemed highly likely that she’d have to win both events to get the number one which probably just felt like it wasn’t that realistic whereas now she’s the only harri exit and she’s only one game away suddenly it’s one of those things once it gets within touching distance the the pressure almost ramps up when it’s just an impossible dream it seems a long Way Away exion by the way Champs are straight back in there cuz these Reds have come out nicely yeah this is a golden opportunity once again and what a score line this would be if Amy completes the Finish to get 4-0 up in this race to seven as we were saying earlier it’s not like there’ve been many one-sided matches in the latter stage of this competition don’t think that’s necessarily going to be the case here there’s plenty of time for Kirsty to get into it but it’s been a quick start from Champs I think for Amy this would be a great end to the season she won the first event of the Season probably assumed she’d win some more he can’t ever be sure with a field as good as this but she’s had quite few semi-finals since then disappointingly for her she has no route to the number one that she got she got the number one ranking last year and got actually into the main Pro Series as a result she wins today she’ll be went outright the the entire tournament she’ll be 500 points behind Harriet and Kirsty Lee Davis in between with 250 Points each way between them so the top three players would be divided by less than one match win which would be incredible after 10 events across the [Music] season they’ve been the players of the Season though Amy finished number one last season Harriet has held that provisional number one one spot for most of this season Kirsty has had this brilliant run to get her in contention so this eight ball for 4-0 down it goes and Amy beum strides back to her chair with another one on the scoreboard few bad things have happened [Music] made a ball off that break and R pretty nice to me yeah she’s ever going to get back into the match this is the chance she needs this ball spread out as well as she could possibly hope for after the break way she was playing yesterday there’s no way she isn’t clearing up from this position she was clearing up from way harder for me put the one over the B screw back and knock that black off the rail take these two [Music] Reds that’s a nice Gap to Landing yeah getting this one out of the way obviously not a big gap coming at it from that side did have two or three other balls she was on if she didn’t find the Gap but that would be a bonus if she can move that ball out the way no surprised to see it take a bit of time here this is a key frame difference between 52 and 61 well she isn’t quite on that ball or feels that she can’t get good position if she pops Parts it this is fine as well she can obviously take these two balls at the bottom of the table then go up the top I think she thought it was better odds of the finish by getting rid of the red on the right first because all she got to do is pull the Cubo back a little bit and she got the red in the middle here a bit further up than she’d like so now she’ll have to pop this in the middle and she’s going to have to probably take the red that’s on the right hand side next leave the one over the back I this is the thing cuz I think if she’ have took the one over the bag in the first shot K that black off the rail it was really really open sh good Q Power there she screws back around the two cushions uhoh come a bit too far there not sure she can pop this and just avoid those yellow and screw off the two rails and then play a double into the middle yeah that yellow in the middle of the ball cushion is playing pretty big now it’s not like she can afford to just take a medicine and leave a difficult black if she do get somewhere better than she is at the moment she’s not really going to have much of a shot at all well she has just taken a medicine she’s going to play it as a cross double that’s a good option because you can get the key ball out the way give yourself a decent chance at the Double [Music] good shot very good shot under the [Music] circumstances the ball along the bottom cushion q w up into eight wall [Music] well better that way around she’s made the pot at least now she’s got a [Music] problem she gets a cannon she holds for choice of the ball to the center or the corner now the only thing she’s got is a tricky three ball plant I think she’s having a look to see if the the two ball plant just creeps past that yellow near the bag might just slide [Music] [Applause] in that’s what she attempted missed it yeah she thought she could squeak it [Music] in so last chance Al for cury Lee Davis any mistake could be her last last in this [Music] tournament ball open so all the balls at her [Music] mercy of feel for her about the way this match is started definitely some self-inflicted mistakes but also some moments of bad luck o definitely some Miss pots he just wouldn’t expect and now there’s all here for Amy very hard to see a mistake from this position yes a bit disappointing for ciry Lee in this match it was Builders a Clash of the Titans sort of a f certainly made life as hard as she could for herself without being hampered like this she be a bit straighter but was able to get to enough of the key ball that she could play twice across the table to give him the same pocket so two balls away now from looking her place in tonight’s final good performance and a quick performance from Amy beum just getting a mini extension there just stretching across the table for this last yellow and it goes perfect C ball control we need the extension for this shot and this is for the match and a place in tonight’s final good performance from Amy she wasn’t pushed as hard as she might have expected to be some moments of bad luck from Kirsty and some self-inflicted errors thrown in welcome back out into the arena for the second of our two women’s series semifinals Lucy Smith last night’s F defeated the finalist takes on Mary tolber who has been a consistent performer on the women’s Series this season but this is her first time out in the main Arena at the semi-final stage it’s been talked about ever since she joined the tour as a potential tournament winner starting to come good on some of that promise it’s Mary that’s going to have first look here comes from a sneaker background so expect great things in terms of her potting ability and first shot proved it it’s been some weekend already for Lucy Smith final already semifinal chance to get back in there have another crack at it already a winner once this season Mark Shephard and Steven Jameson with you for this one Steven this isn’t the ideal spot that Mary’s played herself into here no not exactly Bor in hand perfect is it so a shot to play here for Mary oh very close you you have to make Lucy a fairly not large favorite but comfortable enough one just because of I think experience more than anything else from everything that I’ve seen of of mar I think she’s a fabulous player but big semi-final main Arena Lucy was out there yesterday in the final played two brilliant matches just for that experience alone you’ve got to have Lucy really as a as a pretty handy favorite here just how well to get back to this semi-final 64 down stage to Megan Proctor two first visit clearances to get back on level terms and not just that either she was 5-1 down to Marion Jude earlier in the piece in in the tournament ended up winning that one 76 she’s had a bit of a Marathon today so second crack at the for Mary no real issue with any of the yellows but now that Red’s over the bottom pocket the eight ball not so accessible needs to get off to a good start it’s always the case the player that hasn’t been out as much in the arena get your settled down early on nothing about her body language suggests any kind of real nerves though she’s got very confident demeanor the way she’s going around the table you can see from the way that she cues the ball that should give her in in its own way a lot of confidence comes from a Snuka background she’s a very good cist pots a good ball and you can just see by the way that she cues it’s it’s rock solid isn’t it and that should give you confidence yeah even before she’s played this shot you kind of know she’s going to hit it well so textbook isn’t it that’s a lovely shot very very good it’s also good thinking cuz she understood there that she was much better to play the skill shot off the yellow rather than pop the loose yellows and then play it off the eight ball that would have been a more difficult shot the angle that she had yeah and also it’s it’s a very good two-way shot there you know if she misses that does well if she gets the loss of turn rather than the combination or the yell blocking the eight ball and you got a bit of insurance stand in the frame don’t you this is a very very handy first frame visit from Mary tal having run a ground early on she got her second chance and my goodness me hasn’t she taken it this will be a nerve settler Good Start From Mar Tober settles herself into the match think she’s going to have a bit more in the posting Department than Lucy but we saw yesterday Lucy was doing so well was just persevering with that very gentle it has to be said break but break that just split everything up so nicely that she was clearing a good number at the first visit he look to play a the loss of turn maybe to the top left and keep the cube down low similar sort of position to this and she’ll win the frame then CUO in hand will be massive for Mary cuz that that yellow to the bot to the top right is on an island really yeah that’s why it’s so important for Lucy to hit this obviously she’d like to PO it but just not giving away a ball in hand oh it’s a brilliant shot oh that’ll work absolutely brilliant shot from Lucy [Music] [Music] Smith e [Music] [Music] [Music] this eight ball for a two frame lead it could have been Kinder it could have been a lot [Music] Kinder okay then this now is a massive frame for mer tala it’s the one thing that you’d probably say and it’s not to say that it won’t ever happen for for Lucy but as she as she grows in the game those sorts of shots it almost feels like she doesn’t necessarily trust herself to to make them it almost almost approaches it as if it’s a big shot you know almost feels unconfident whereas I think for example if that was Mary or one of the other top lady players taking that on I think they go well I’m in a bad position here but you know q q it really back yourself to make it yeah it’s like everything’s kind of hard work isn’t it she’s having to put a lot of effort into every shot I me she’s found a really effective way of winning but it’s it was maybe a more sustainable way when she wasn’t winning as many matches paradoxically the fact she’s now become quite successful she’s almost just got to find a slightly more fluent way of playing this is a good chance of Marion every Center because scoreboard sense three on and 42 is a big difference of the message it sends she’s been really good with this kind of shot this is quite a difficult shot when not just the pot but the F she’s got to force the key ball out quite a long way to get a decent shot the remaining yellow oh this is a toughy oh how good is that [Music] woof got to play another one though this one you don’t do anything with a cube though and you you really do fancy marry for these yeah I wasn’t ever missing that brilliant shot that that shot to the top right was particularly impressive because I I love the choice because ordinarily you you look at that and you think maybe you’re going to stun out and go off the right side rail to come back 4 minutes will we see one frame will we see two I think we’ll see three well she’s actually played a bit firmer that time and come up dry yeah there was a little bit extra in this wasn’t there you can go if you want but it’s tricky that red on the triangle line is is a horrible Ball is she going yellow is this a plant oh yeah okay yellow ball that’s a good opener she has got time here plenty of time for this Frame just needs to focus on making the clearance well the yellow directly below the cuq ball now is is her problem ball [Music] ‘s a chance but there’s a chance to get back on level terms oh she can stun into that red now or maybe drop down and move the black stand into the red it’s not come out I don’t think does that yellow pass that she’s closest to into the bottom right it does hold on to your hats here folks this is the yellow Lucy Smith has 2 minutes and 40 seconds to win the semi-final it’s not quite enough time to just waste time I think she has to go close to getting these and they’re not easy almost opts to deliberately try and mess them up and I think that’s a risk Mary certainly can po a yellow as you can see the edge of the bottom yellow case there for just putting a few loose ones at least lose up a bit of time I think definitely she does used her extension do see well couldn’t see the potting angle of the one near the pocket and now has turned into a bit of a messy situation it’s not a good spot for Reds to clear up but you don’t need to clear up you don’t need yeah exactly there five open balls here for Lucy Smith and she can call an extension which she has now done Mary Tober may get back to the table but will she have long enough if she does it’s going to be a razor thin finish to this match luc’s playing safe I don’t think that’s the shot it’s got to be tempting to PO at least three or four the open one yeah the clock’s your friend here if Mary makes this yellow out the snooker she’s in business and she’s close what a shot that’s so unlucky goodness me but she’s in bother here Lucy she’s got to make a pot here otherwise Mary can go aggressive how do you hide the C Ball yeah in a position she had access to all the balls now she had to play a much Wilder shot how’s this going to end up oh she’s in trouble this going to end up anyway Mary Talbert can you get out you’ve got 50 seconds oh she couldn’t quite squeeze that yellow in couldn’t quite squeeze it in I don’t know that was the right shot but then you can hardly blame her under the time pressure 30 seconds is Lucy going to survive yeah she is because long enough for [Music] Mary one pot will do it Mar tber can have a swing 20 seconds can you pop these three PS in the eight ball this would be an unbelievable buzzer beater not to be and Lucy Smith is going to get out of Dodge and win the semifinal Oh by a skin of her teeth what a match two really really good players Mary Talbert’s first ultimate P women’s Pro Series semifinal it won’t be her last as for Lucy Smith it’s backto back finals for her defeated Yesterday by kirley Davis Amy beum awaits in this one as Lucy looks to secure another pro series title in the meantime we’re back to the Men’s Pro Series and it’s the semi-finals next the players weren’t here ready to play which is what the issue was there anyway all that’s gone and we are ready to go in the semi-final now and it’s a good one as it is the world champion the two-time world champion R McCarthy gets us underway with an excellent break and he is taking on our fan dad who is having a very good tournament once again I do see aan come up with these deep runs he’s been through to a pro series final yet to get his first victory [Music] i’ be happy with that shot Ronan yeah good break disappointing first shot looks like he can get through here in which case it was okay wow shave the edge of it and now he’s back in perfect Shake [Music] yeah the current world champion rolling Back The Years rumor going around that it might be his last year playing Paul we’ll wait and see I think he loves it too much but he did hint at it at the World Championships I’m not sure he he knows himself big would no would it retire as world champion what about retiring as world champion in a Pro Series champion be pretty [Music] cool oh ke ball he okay not his normal uh qall control here so far to start this match but [Music] he’s been a bit around the houses on this finish Ronan but he’s going to get the job done in his opening frame yeah certainly is simple enough eightball then for RONA McCarthy to use the first two and a half minutes of this match nice and wisely and get the first frame on the board but in terms of the the oneyear list he’s down on what he achieved last [Music] year you have to say is as a tough a season as ronan’s had on the the pro circuit 95% of the players would take his year as he won the world title [Music] absolutely only 95 well I just don’t I I just think that it’s not quite what it once was that’s the only reason I I worded it that way yeah it doesn’t have uh the strongest field you could possibly have yeah I mean would you take Tom’s season over ronan’s yet Ronan won the World Championships absolutely I think everybody would well he won a few quid didn’t he yeah could make the case to get some sums on this obviously there was some big money being played for a few years ago with the Supreme series but with what Tom’s won just in English poll in the last two years maybe more than anyone’s ever won in a two-year period before I don’t have the full analytics and statistics of of the prize money over the decades but what he has won in the last two years is quite staggering yeah I I can’t say otherwise that’s for sure and it only stands the reason because the prize money is bigger than what it was when I say I played it was we got 38 P for we winning a proor no it Ian it was all right back in back in the day but it’s it’s certainly a lot bigger now love the back in a day eh Shadow f for every time I’ve said that recently that would have been a few quid back in the day we’ve reached the uh we’ve reached that point of the weekend folks yep hold on tight it’s going to be a fast ride we’ve got four more matches left this weekend okay important halfan now that he’s got good control here gets this frame on the board and gets going here don’t want to fall for behind against the the world champion needs to get going in this match [Music] [Music] sh [Music] [Music] very good this from our fan once he got it all nice and lined up it was there for him but he has made sure and he’s on the board daddy is up and running 3 to one plenty of time left in this match race to seven ronan’s break needs to turn up now now that he’s let Arn right back into the match and well that’s the best break he’s hit in the match see hit a very good break in the first one now he made other balls so the red comes back up but the red is on the eight ball spot so delicate operation here just to get the eight ball as close to the the spot as possible in a direct line as close to the Red without touching it delicate one but once it’s back does that ruin Reds and make it yows probably wants to be yellows anyway depends on the eight ball which is the biggest problem for yellows does change the layout though and Ronan now giving it his full attention going for his cut in a corner with the red try and kick the black and red apart well I think the red by the aall might go it’s very tight the one on the cushion that’s the bigger problem yeah it does go I’m I’m sure you’re right there that’s very kind of you to say well you know now and again i’ like to give you a little bit of encouragement does he try and move that red now he’s got an angle on with the ball in the middle no he’s going down in the down into the bottom corner with this so bringing the keyo back towards the bulk he’s played it very softly that’s now he’s left himself an angle now with the red into the bottom right hand cor and surely this time he’s going to screw the cubble into that red ball and bump it over the middle bag now he’s going back upstairs again he’s teasing me is he happy with the double well he said he’s had the angle to move that R off that rail twice and he’s refusing and now he’s got it again yeah I I can only assume that red didn’t go to bottom left the one by the eight ball so otherwise why play that shot that way he’s landed on it into the center pocket [Music] he wouldn’t have minded if that had dropped it’s going to be difficult to get above the center pocket here so I po this in so we can dig deep and screw with a little right hand side through the the gap of the black and the yellow he used the BL and the jaw that will do that will do not how he drew it up it doesn’t matter he BS over the pocket he’s perfect on the red it’s not how it’s How many [Music] yeah hand again apologize or acknowledge the the fortune he had well we we said that Ouran had a touch a fortune in a clearance earlier on in the match but we have to say the same thing again there that was pretty fortunate for RONA McCarthy 530 plenty of time and it’s not the best of breaks very gentle that it’s timid wasn’t it just mistimed everything yeah he did look very happy with that Rona because he knows he’s left a little plant down into the bottom corner there with those yellows and it’s giving Aran a free rain at least has to have a go is the plant on yellows you can Nick it if you could if he h it very thin and get the yellow to go back into that cluster pors that’d be great like that oh that will do he can as long as he’s not touching the one he’s next to he can clip that one in so he can go and that’s opened up the other yellow in the triangle area which which would have been tough now he’s not touching it just you can see a tiny little Gap there [Music] [Music] 4:30 left so Ouran dad has to ignore the clock for Ouran it is about making the Finish he cannot run the clock down enough to make it him be the only chance to have a a stab at these it’s a case of winning this frame in this visit winning the match in this visit still has to deal with the one in the triangle area cuz when he plays it he’s going into Reds doesn’t want to put the eight ball safe power now i’ have gone for Brute Force there that’s not too bad the eight ball goes in the center it doesn’t come down the table but oh this is poor this is poor though dear he’s going to get away with it a little bit cuz easily have slid off that and left it even worse this is now is still thin but as long as he’s catching the red full enough he’ll stay on the eight ball he’s fortunate that Red’s there because if it wasn’t it’d be going up and down the table twice he made the yellow he’s on it he’s on the eight ball not not exactly how he plan to get there he won’t care he will not care at all this eight ball to steal it away from Rona McCarthy and the Daddy has done it he’s come from behind and he has got the victory McCarthy breaking dry in the decider left the daddy the chance and our fan dad did the rest he is into a pro series final once again we’ll find out what he’s got to think about it and who he will play in that final after this short break Ste to break in frame number one [Music] [Music] [Applause] yellow balls in [Music] pretty excellent first chance for Stevie first shot into the middle was excellent when these three sort of naturally pick each other apart [Music] could go either way here but it looks like middle first for the [Music] hammer overcame Josh Kane in his quarterfinal did we saw that earlier on it was a right Royal Rumble really some great pool some terrible pool and a six red shoot out to round it all off well there wasn’t a huge amount of in that match from Stevie at least was really solid clean breaking dishes which is what we’ve just seen that was excellent from the hammer and he’s off to a great start he leads by a frame to nil cool that break’s returning that break is returning to levels that Jack Willam would like and it’s brilliant yeah fantastic break just look at the split Splats them open to be fair he’s not been rewarded with that much of a great layout we’ G with a thing cut into the corner with the red slightly better color and also been as Jacks first at the table he’s also going to be ahead anyway in terms of developing the balls that’s a super shot there only just though about as much as he could have he’s now got giving himself an angle here where he can put the red into the corner we we wanted to play deep screw shot into this into this yellow really pull the Q ball back hard and play that lovely Play Just Cannon it out off the cushion and he’s he’s on it as well just that red in the middle of the table now started to come into play a little bit I think it squeezes part yellow into the middle but it’s getting on it in that area he might choose just to roll this in and play play it next [Music] well it’s going to be his last ball that’s for short so wants to pop this red in come back three or 4 inches and then cut the red into the middle that’s perfect absolutely perfect I think you just drop this in very very softly and have the black in the bottom left hand corner he’s gone through for the middle had more of an angle than I thought he did and didn’t go goes of black jack wheeling again with a lovely finish so the hammer breaking off now frame 11 6 minutes 39 on the club and his break’s been really good for the last few frames and he’s on a red exension C thought for a second he might not be on anything but he’s just pulled up in time he may be on a yellow if he wants that he does yeah they are the better color purely because of the red that’s below the Black Bolt he has a free swipe at all of these yellows so probably down the bottom now get rid of those two yellows [Music] [Music] well we’ll be going up the rail next don’t he’s got a choice he hasn’t got a choice but this was his plan all along long lovely [Music] shot drop this in bit of check side as he runs the keyable through off the rail just Ste the keyo back for his L yellow tiny angle he wants so he wants to land if he could land this cuble bang on the blue spot or just below it he’s home and host you know that would be absolutely perfect yeah he’s good enough oh that’s great yeah it’s okay that’s [Music] lovely and down goes the eight ball Ste Dempsey once again edges in front he’s now on the hill we have 4 minutes and 23 left Stevie Dempsey gets a chance he can win the match oh he’s not got one o oh that’s painful that has got to hurt cuz just look at the layout oh that’s painful I don’t think you can quite believe [Applause] it Stevie depy quickly chooses yellows the balls are there for Stevie Dempsey to join our fan dad tonight’s final which will be on later be on after the women’s Pro final which will be coming up next after this yeah any beach in action taking on Lucy Smith back toback finals for Lucy it won’t be back-to-back finals for Jack wheelan if Stevie Dempsey gets these out the way only ball that can maybe give him a little bit of grief is the other on the B line really but I think he’s pretty happy with it may even well leave it to the last ball now [Music] make sure he plays the beeps on every shot just in [Music] [Music] case nicely shot nicely executed shot there from Stevie because the way just played that one so it floated the keyboard through that Gap it the sort of spin took quite late but it it made it come over to the right hand side to play this plant oh don’t bounce too far for Stevie if if you hit that a bit thin then it would have gone knocked it onto the by the jaw three balls away [Music] bit of a Grimace I wonder if he can just use that red if it if it’s if the Keo go guides into the red and he could he can just bring the keyboard down to have the black in the middle didn’t need it and he’s played a lovely shot great shot lovely shot with side there Dempsey now just this black for a place in tonight’s final [Music] and Stevie Dy punches his ticket series final for the first time in 2024 he’s left it late but it has been great for the hammer Jack whe Falls at the semi-final stage a fabulous weekend for him as he bids farewell to Ultimate ball and to English eight ball that will be it for Jack wheelen he signs off off in sty with two fabulous runs to final and semi it’s time to dance it’s the women’s Pro Series 10 final it’s Lucy Smith against Amy beum and it’s Steven Jameson joined by Megan Proctor in the commentary box Megan thank you so much for being with us tonight uh really good Final in Prospect and a glimpse there of the the Lucy Smith break which has been so effective all the way through this weekend it’s uh it’s a lovely soft dainty little thing but my goodness me it effective I know they just kind of ping open don’t they there’s defin there’s not much power behind it um and it just seems consistently that one will go in this top left corner it’s like the same break every single time isn’t it yeah and you look at the split that’s been left it was obviously dry for so Amy be’s going to have first go at these but it’s a really good split for for what you’re putting in versus what you’re getting out Amy beachim looking to bookend the year she won the very first women’s pro series title this season she’s looking to win the very last one yeah and she’s just coming off the back of uh a win last weekend or the weekend before in the Champs are Champs so she’s feeling good about a game which is good I think she’s had she’s had a couple of close runs hasn’t she comeing to the semis and then had an amazing result against Kirsty so think both of the both Lucy and Champs have had a bit of a break since the semifinals which I think both needed yeah definitely it’s been an exhausting day today I know speaking to the Champs on the sofa earlier after her semi final she was just so pleased afterwards just to take some time going get something to eat been a pretty growing day it’s a marathon not a Sprint in these series weekends yeah and I think she had she had two deciders hasn’t she in the last 32 last 16 so her games have gone to the wire which is probably why she’s felt like she’s just been back to back yeah I know her round a 32 match with Ash denore went down well it took about two hours I think which tells you all you need to know went down to the wire as she just knocked this yellow safe or does it sneak past she was pretty annoyed with herself initially but it doesn’t wobble past oh no it doesn’t it’s a rematch this one in this final of the semifinal from last night and Lucy won that match mainly through her counter clearing and that is not the shot she wanted to play had to get rid of this yellow cuz now Amy can just just revisit and go again get the CUO out might not be easy though yeah I’m just thinking she’s so close to it and it’s so like a dainty shot if she could screw directly down the line she’d have the one in the middle but how close she is she she can’t believe play that it’s a big bounce does that go past the yellow the top yellow no I don’t think so another plan yeah this is this is serious tariff she has tied up that red now yeah whether it was intentional or not I I think that’s actually come out okay for for Champs I think the top yellow goes to middle maybe I keep looking we can see the overhead in our commentary Studio overhead makes it look like it goes you think oh yeah that goes if you’re on it now you look at the main camera you think oh it’s got no chance it might even still go down to the bottom bottom corner Lucy know she doesn’t need to do anything drastic here and she’s let champ see the one yellow that she wants her to see she’ll have to move this now and move the red yeah it’s the one thing that I think Lucy does really really well is just not play within herself but just play her game just be solid make herself hard to beat and you’re hard to beat I think Amy’s a bit more sort of purist in that sense she she plays the table on its own merits and and looks to win as many frames as possible that’s I think Luc is a bit more sort of match by match focused plays the situation a little more although she’s not got that one M she’s got the cover on the bottom right corner I’m assuming from this angle it doesn’t look like one passes into the top right no I don’t think so hard to see it going anywhere near a pocket what’s Jam’s got in store for us yeah just tried to Swerve it around and play it off the red that was a very hard shot this will be a good chance for Lucy now just the one near the Black will be her a bit of an issue maybe because she would ideally like to have left this one that she’s playing to come down for that yeah for sure may look to use the red that she’s on to the left Center to land on it now yeah have two cushions and leave it in the same bag just under here slly yeah she got an insurance policy at the top of the table because there’s a red hanging over a pocket so you don’t really need to be too close to your work there definitely some long yeah that’s the other option of course but then you’re a little bit straight on it and you need to make sure that the eight ball doesn’t become in the way [Music] then have enough angle that’s a good shot [Music] yeah it’s just held up in time hasn’t it otherwise she would have been playing a very long card plant I think she’s still on this one to the top left and it’s still a good [Music] chance okay Mary Talbert in the semi-final did Lucy Smith first time seeing Mary personally and I was absolutely well I was very very impressed by what I saw I don’t think that’ll be Mary’s last semi-final yeah definitely not I I played her in the first event and knew that she was going to be going to go on and do some damage in this in this tour um she’s now focusing purely on pool as well um she was more snooker she’s got a very good club really close to where she lives as well and she’s really putting in the time so deserves everything that she gets she’s a very good player yeah went down to the wire Lucy earlier on Lucy just edged it with the clock running down for one n s enough start a couple of a couple of similarities really to their semi-final last night in a way I can tell you that’s not how she was breaking in the quarterfinals against me so I’d like to see some of the Luc I’m really pleased that you got that one in there I’m really pleased for you yeah it’s just not maybe I need Trish just reing for me qu finals I’m sure you can put it to her yeah they’re just not springing open like they like they have been doing for her and we’re going to have another what looks like long and tactical free yeah these have not been the sort of you know these haven’t been the splits that we’ve been used to seeing at all no not at all I know Lucy doesn’t hit the pack hard but it does look like she’s taking a little bit off a break as well um she’s not hitting them as F maybe yeah they’re just not hanging open that’s going a little bit wrong but again she’s got a color set that is favorable and now it’ll be about pulling back potentially trying to knock a red safe in doing so similar story to last frame to be fair really similar in that Luc has probably got a bit of an upper hand in terms of color but there’s not much in it so it’s who’s going to steal this one away don’t that was an attempt to the pot there wasn’t really gaining much from potting that I’m not sure if the the left yellow does pass cuz if it does this is a chance for Lucy it’s quite hard to see I don’t think it does I don’t think you can get the Cubo in there for the poting angle I think the Red’s two in the way oh foul oh did it get there I think it oh it just got there it’s Trish checking it I think I think D is just conferring with the timekeeper out there now she’s coming in for a review just to make sure it being a final it’s important these things are correct I think from my perspective it just got there I don’t think it’s bounced off I think it’s rested on the cushion which by nature of it is contact yeah I wonder if we’ve checked if it’s frozen ball CU then the answer’s there I’ll fetch tras I tell her one sec Le just played the shot though there that she keeps playing developing her balls push him on safe in this case it there potentially it could be a foul but she’s playing all of the right shots percentage wise we just have a quick look again gun at this yeah well it it does look like it hits doesn’t it yeah it does um no well there we go so it then just became that simple question of well was it frozen to the cushion and if it wasn’t it didn’t hit it yeah so there we go must just rocked back a little bit and there’s the fine margins so qqo in hand for Amy beum is a biggie not the end of the world if that stays up cuz you feel like she’s got a real upper hand now in this in this Frame yeah I think it almost felt like a bit of a free go that one that shot it did I think maybe that tells us a little bit about how Champs is thinking um because on another day she may have chose to take one in the middle develop a bad ball and leave that as a double um knowing that she’s a very good player and will’ll get that double more often than not so again playing the percentages playing the right shots playing what he’s comfortable with well they’ve both now got the same problem and no one wants to move it oh no one dares move it 22 in the final 15 and 1 half minutes and it is almost Who Dares go first if those Reds are a plant I think they’re just off and they’re off the wrong way as well they’re not off to move the bad ball they’re off if she played it now the white would go into the into it yeah this is interesting I think she might should be looking at the lot of turn here and the white naturally might just Nestle into that bit of an issue area in the left hand side oh she hit the knuckle she’s got lot of time but hit the knuckle not a terrible result L of time is the important thing the thing is you can almost en Champs position because you can you can make a read can’t you you almost know Lucy’s can not going to commit to anything to really push the boat out M you can almost use that to your advantage sometimes and almost second guess what she’s going to do off off the back of yours yeah see Luc is playing lot of turn here turn How brave do we feel [Music] Champs should be forced into into taking and going somewhere here if she if she plays one in the middle bumps out for the one into the corner to go into that yellow and red I think that’s the only option really there’s not much of a safety option here is there [Music] no I I she’s gone for that but I don’t think it’s the end of the world it stayed up and the reason why I say that is you’re absolutely right I don’t think there is much of a safety option here but you basically are saying to Lucy you know can you break that ball out and sort of almost play Lucy at her own game really that’s a good shot does make a difference if it’s touching or not if it’s touching yeah it does make a big difference don’t think it is her Trish call it which does make it harder delicate one that’s a good shot that looks so much easier she made that look so much easier than it was that’s a great part yeah that’s a brilliant shot the whole there [Music] [Music] now still a real shot to be made though and I think you got to play it now doesn’t want to flick the red wants to hit just near the jaw a good shot yeah really well [Music] played least it looks more and more more calm out there don’t she as you will the more you go out there and last tour got the event one and then two finals so far this stour you got to be a good player to make it back toback finals you do got be even even better to win one [Music] we say ball for the lead with 11 minutes to play sir of the pocket it’s not been the match so far that we may be expected has it but B have dictated that in a big way for me 100% yeah not guaranteed to be in a six red yet 128 is enough time for a count for a clearance or a counter clearance Lucy Smith on the break especially if we see the LCI Smith break that we’ve been seeing Oh I can’t believe that St These are nice all right then Champs you’ve got 1 minute and 20 seconds and these look really okay it will be yellows for Amy beum if you don’t want to do a six red shoots out Champs do a six yellow shoot out and get yourself a win that way oh that’s come out [Music] amazingly the yellow just Bel just below the yellow she’s going to play next is the key one I think she’s just going to find the Gap and play bottom right yeah can you come back up for it yeah 38 seconds yeah this is hard to get on do you just do you just play the double she may have to she’s got to hold for the double first which isn’t easy well she can have a swing at it I don’t think it’s got a natural pocket 16 seconds she can’t lose if she can find a way to make this she might win yeah we are going the distance just didn’t quite have the angle she wanted on the top of the two yellows to the the middle which meant she could play them back to back I think that was the key to a marking that one may be too frustrated the clock ticks down it’s six red shootout time for [Music] Champs a break very good break cuq ball running on the first shot isn’t ideal key to any good six R is economy of movement with a CU ball this is more like it it’s just wasted AIT of time there but she’s oh I’m telling you should practice this right just needs a plump that actually isn’t the worst thing that sort of come out like that oh is that a bit awkward no it goes so it’s north of 30 seconds a little bit of a Grimace from Lucy that could have been quicker six clean pots and you win that’s not bad you can play one shot to develop goes for the pop first takes the time to set and now you’ve got to move 3104 to beat I think this is good yeah this is the way right middle next and then the one into the bottom right corner two pots away it is going to be quite tight this for the title Amy be she bend the pro series season she won the first event she’s won the the last of 2024 I don’t think she knows yet that she’s w we sure we sure she’s won I mean I I was some tell her I was pretty sure going to bring in tournament director Neil Toms to make the presentation your pro series 10 Champion is Amy beum off and dad has been to a Pro Series final before when he did he came up short against the man that is hitting the break now sumon Webb and Tony Holgate with you really excited for this the final match Tony and it should be a record absolutely looking forward to this after that exhilarating women’s Pro final watching that six red shootout from the sidelines well done to Amy beum many congratulations and now it’s on to the last final yeah congrats to both players actually Lucy making two finals this weekend some achievement you know three three finals on the Trot essentially it’s uh quite incredible and winning the one last time we were here in blackpole so no doubt about it Lucy Smith is absolutely right in the mix but Amy Beach and show casing her class once again but here we are on the pro final and well it’s a really interesting match to talk about and call Cuz if this was 2023 that was an excellent shot by the way you get through that Gap the gis of bwith but if this was 2023 we’ll have another look at it we would be talking about how Stevie Dempsey is Riding High he’s winning titles he’s at the top of the game yes he’s the number two seed cuz he carries that ranking for the full year but it has not been the season that Stevie Dempsey was looking for and if he was to walk away with the title here tonight it would really put a gloss on the on the season and turn it from a disappointing one to a good [Music] one arand dad on the other hand is still looking for his first pro title with ultimate ball he has been close I referenced it he’s been to a pro series final he’s been to semi-finals quarterfinals Galore he’s back in a pro series final looking to go one better and lift the trophy well he won his semi-final half and out against Northern Ireland and now he’s playing a man from Over the Border in Ireland Stevie [Music] Dempsey he’s going to have his work cut out Dempsey towards what a second half of the match in his semi-final against Jack Wheeling we starting to find his break it was really really good towards the end of that match and he was picking out finishes from absolutely nowhere if it’s just a start that Stevie Dempsey would have wanted black goes up into the top corner and in she goes and Stevie Dempsey that gets his underwe first one on the board in this final okay Ouran gets a ball this time and his chance is glorious I think it has to be Reds there’s just no point worrying about the yellow above the eightball the yellow on the right hand side all the Reds go just wonder if he was considering the the plant first shot to bottom right just the way he was looking not that not a massive amount of room for the eight ball but enough not to really worry and I like getting rid of the red bottom right hand corner I don’t see that as a good last ball couple of couple of the Reds top right would work work quite nicely I me that’s why you want the CU for the black R basically where he is now yeah but he’s got he can come down the table a foot or you know foot foot and a half he’s got room it just it looks a little tight but he does have room could try and bump the one on the right hand side over the right center pocket yeah he is yeah I like that because that now becomes a good last ball maybe a hair straight yeah they like just a little bit vled just to pop that in the corner and just bring the que over towards the blue spot sort of area I think he’s fine as long as he pulls back what two three rolls more than he’s got now just go on and off the cushion okay you’re crossing the line a little bit but it’s fine you’ve got margin of error on the shot you’ve got you’re not really moving the C very far a player at Ouran level should be uh should be fully under control with it [Music] see ala now just seeing where he wants to be like you said Simon he has a bit of room to play with he can just dribble this keybo down a bit and that’s going to be [Music] fine yeah really nice visit to the table that for our fan we can all look at it and go oh it was a nice open open splitting it was but you know he had to pick a nice route there to make it easy and but he keeps breaking well though keyo was flirting with both middles there but results good though oh happy days well it’s good job he’ll probably want Reds because he’s surround them he’s got three of them all around the CU ball here but just look how open they are want to play the one in the in the middle first get rid of that one on the rail next as well well I don’t think he want to knock it closer to the cush but he has done where the red was originally you had a couple of inches away from it he could probably have played it with a bit more pace and now this has got to be very very careful and slow down this rail played it well though [Music] [Music] that’s okay little bit too far maybe of perfection but you can just roll this through and he’s not going to go too far away to cause a problem well no because the yellow that next to the red just below this when he pots it it’s going to hold the cuy for him yeah W need to now he just run this through I think and have the black in the other corner there’s actually a touch straighter than I first thought yeah me too another brilliant visit to the table from M and Dad this is some standard we’re watching for a final there is a major prize on the line here and both these two are playing like it’s just a knock in the club break finish for break finish blow for blow and 5 five both players need [Music] three that has to start with a ball no and dry for the first time in the match what a time for that to happen and what a leave this time Reds yeah right and you thinking well the black’s tied up the red goes off the yellow into that corner and that free freees the pocket up as well the other red that’s that’s dodgy that goes into the Left Hand Middle trying to look at the rout now the of these obviously this one’s going to have to be first here into the I don’t like the one top right first cuz that’s the one you use you want to play that one off the yellow don’t you yeah that’s that’s that’s my point that’s a developing shot for the for the eight ball yeah yeah didn’t like that yeah now he’s scratching his head I don’t know where the eight Wall’s going I mean this could be down to a little bit of um because he’s he’s not won a pro title before do you think it’s going now all all all sorts of thoughts go through his head at the moment well he’s got the eightball in play and he is on this red it does he’s he’s thin enough to be able to clip it and let the QQ ball run [Music] yeah everything still goes yeah it’s uh it’s an edgy one for him but he’s he’s every every time he’s still at the table it’s another 15 seconds as well off the clock that last R is going to be tough to land on even though it does go into the right center pocket yeah just got to be thinking about getting getting the balls into the pockets now [Music] that’s a nice decision leave the natural now he’s going use the yellows to hold as long as he doesn’t get a good fli a bad flick this going to be incredible for Ouran dad to live this final tour of the year look at that well what a display now and this is it this is it this is this is for the title forget about the clock forget about everything else he just needs to get to eight and he’s two pots away he’s done it and he will now know he will now know inside that a first ultimate Paul Pro title is his Ouran Dad no no can you believe it I don’t believe what you can you believe what we are seeing Aran dad had one hand on the title and now he has three and A2 minutes of torture that is quite incredible wow can’t believe the White’s gone in look can oh my word just cannot believe how it’s it’s unfolded it’s incredible 56 seconds to go what a break but there’s no ball our fan dad’s going to have a chance to win it it’s a tough one for a quick finish the yellows are spread far and wide on cushions and the Reds have two at the top of the table it’s hard to find a 4C finish here he’s I think he’s T he’s taking a six red he’s taking the six red he’s not he’s well yeah 30 seconds have a dip here not enough time to be counted you’re going to get just about got enough time it’s right on the brink and leaving the yellow down the table makes it so much [Music] harder and that will be that 10 seconds to go we are going to see another six red shootout for the trophy you cannot write this script AR and dad had it won he cannot believe the cuq went in they’re even talking about it now I mean we can’t believe it in the commentary box I’m sure you can’t believe it at home and it’s a good break oh he could have gone round to the center he’s had to wait quite a long time for the first shot yeah and that red coming under his hand as well slowed him down had but he can go quick from here he’s just had to wait might have to go long this is still going to be a good time you know if he doesn’t miss it’s going to be in that sweet spot for him yeah very good 23 The Unofficial time 2278 oh and they’ve stuck and they’ve stuck he’s going to have to open them up oh that might be a foul and that definitely is a foul and he is going to concede defeat here somehow some way steviec is a Pro Series champion for a third time he’s an ultimate P Pro Champion for a fifth time he goes TI with Chris meling only behind Tom cousins in the history of ultimate Paul it isn’t the most miraculous turnaround and a penny for our fan dad’s thoughts you have to feel for him the daddy gave us so much in this final but he comes up short once again he will be back but Stevie Dempsey is the champion again we’ll crown him next your pro series 10 Champion is Stevie the hammer Dempsey [Applause]
