welcome back all right more news of the day for all you find people on the internet for your Tuesday December the 17th uh starting at the top of the board with the New York Rangers and coo kako so he was a healthy scratch in the last game and he disagrees says he was not the worst player on the team leads you to wonder if you asked him so who is the worst player on the team let’s go ahead and start some finger pointing he might get an interesting answer but the New York Rangers there’s definitely some fractures going on the best way to fix this is winning um we go through this every year where there’s teams that you know there’s some talk of discontent in the locker room and content discontent here and there winning fixes a lot of that so if the Rangers can get back to that starting with a win tonight in Nashville some of this discussion should go away but if they keep losing these discussions are going to get worse and the problem for the Rangers too has been that in the last couple of games especially there there just doesn’t seem to be that intensity there doesn’t seem to be that effort that you need if the Rangers are going to pull themselves out of this mess so maybe tonight kako has a big game they’ll be without panan he’s dealing with an upper body injury I think this is the second straight that he’s missed so he’s not playing in Nashville tonight it’s an opportunity for others to to step up and and produce and so we’ll see how that goes for the Rangers tonight but definitely some issues there and uh it looks like V and Nan’s making his debut with the Rangers tonight so yeah it’s going to be an interesting game for the Rangers tonight they’re in Nashville that’s a game that looks highly winnable but recently those highly winnable games for the rangers they they just haven’t been winning them uh Ryan wowski fined $25,000 for inappropriate conduct so basically yelling at the Reps and whatever might have been said in Saturday’s game against Utah that was an intense game especially towards the end there were some calls that San Jose wasn’t happy with both calls that they got as well as calls they didn’t get uh on Utah so um yeah it was it was an ugly game here and there uh the $25,000 it’s a substantial fine because coaches aren’t part of the Union I don’t think their Their fines are have anything to do with CBA so that’s why a coach will get fined a heck of a lot more than the players do which is kind of messed up when you think about it since usually the coaches get paid less than the players at least the star players in the NHL right so at any rate yeah rovski $25,000 fine at times teams will pay those fines as well so um maybe that’ll end up being the case for for San Jose but either way it’s it’s a fine that’s out there uh the New Jersey Devils have activated Curtis Lazar off injured reserve uh this has allowed them to wave Justin Dowling uh dowling’s a player I kind of missed down here in abbottsford but I I don’t think the Canucks put in a claim and then try to get him through waivers down to the miners because New Jersey could just claim him back if that was the case uh I would think Dowling probably clears though he is a bottom six forward with NHL experience you just never know uh the Colorado Avalanche have waved Chris Wagner so Wagner probably clears ends up being sent down to the miners but does he have some experience at the NHL level yep could a team take a chance on him absolutely so that’s another one that we’ll wait and see tomorrow on what happens keeping in mind that tomorrow we get into the roster freeze so we won’t be seeing players on waivers starting on the 19th because there’s a there’s a roster freeze you just you can’t do that uh good news for the Washington capitals and the reason for a capitals Jersey here is city council has approved they were expected to approve this but it’s still it’s good to talk about uh they’ve approved the transformation of Capital One Arena so they’re going to basically transform the arena and the surrounding area is the plan and try to make it so that you know Capital One arena is more of a a destination for people uh one transformation in terms of how Arenas are planned out now with the NHL is we seem to see these these entertainment districts and the neighborhoods around the Arenas being changed and made so that yeah you can go down and hang out in that area before the game and after the game and there’s always stuff to do in that area I I want to say that started with Nashville uh that Nashville was one that people talked a lot about and and how much there is to do around the Arena Las Vegas you definitely have that with Vegas with where T-Mobile is it’s right in the middle of the strip so if you’re vacationing there uh you can walk to the arena and then you can walk to almost any show you want to watch in Las Vegas from there as long as it’s on the STP of course but um it it is it is definitely I think beneficial to do it this way rather than the way it was being done before where you just plunk an arena in and you spend a whole bunch of money on it and hope you see some of that money back so the Washington Capitals initially had talked about moving and of course that fell through so and and I don’t mean like moving a distance it’s it wasn’t that far away but that that plan fell through and now the the backup plan which I think is the better plan uh has been approved by city council so I don’t think there’s any more hurdles now and Washington’s going to have a refurbished Arena although the the owner in making the announcement said pardon our dust meaning they’re going to be doing uh Renovations and stuff like that you’re probably going to have to find your way around it um as we’ve found every time we go to Seatac so it’s just that’s kind of the way that works now um now inter waiver news Devon Shore cleared waivers from Minnesota but according to Michael Russo he’s staying with the team at least for now uh and there’s always that chance too that a team waves a player just so they can you know say all he’s cleared waivers and then you you might move the player down say a week later or just later on you don’t have to wave them again uh sure decent bottom six option and so he’s staying with Minnesota for now we’ll see how long that’s the case uh Peter morazi’s close to a return for Chicago sounds like he’s probably going to be good to go for the next game will not play tonight against Washington so they probably want to take their time with him there’s no reason to rush him and so morzak being out for now gives solder bloom a chance to play and keso as well so uh yeah marzik uh definitely a player who’s missed when he’s not in the lineup for Chicago and hopefully that changes soon Rasmus Dalene is expected to take part in a full practice for buffalo on Thursday and he could return to the lineup for buffalo on Friday so that’s good news for Buffalo they definitely miss delene while he’s out uh dolene is a player that I think at this point he’s almost underrated because I see so many people talking about Dalene and I he’s not that great and he’s not that good and I’m thinking have we reached that stage where he’s underrated I think he’s an excellent defenseman I would not say that dalen’s underrated at all I think because he plays in Buffalo if anything he’s he’s underrated uh if he plays in Las Vegas Toronto Montreal one of those big locations I think he’d be greatly beloved by fans but either way uh him being back in the lineup on Friday for Buffalo should be good uh Buffalo of course uh in Montreal tonight trying to stop a 10 game winless skid which has garnered a lot of attention from fans uh from media as well as I think from the rest of the National Hockey League uh Anthony duclair for the New York Islanders has been medically cleared but but he won’t play today versus Carolina hurricane so I guess they want to get him into a couple more practices have him uh make sure he’s a 100% good to go or maybe they just don’t want to throw him in there against Carolina Carolina’s a tough team but at any rate uh duclair being back will be good for the New York Islanders uh he looked pretty good with them before the injury so getting him back will help the attack and yeah duclair I think is is should be able to pick up where he left off should be right at home with this team um Lou larell for all the negativity I see towards Lou he still puts together a team that ends up being pretty competitive sure they get lots of points in extra time but somehow they they very often end up above the playoff line and maybe that’ll happen again this year we shall see let me know your thoughts in the comment section below as always
