got Bob Harris joining me on the r wire podcast as we start our Thanksgiving week festivities here on the rire fantasy football [Music] podcast hey everybody Welcome to the rutwire fantasy football podcast I’m Jeff Ericson here with Bob Harris from football guys uh you can find him on Twitter at footall diard Bob welcome to the show as always how are you I’m doing great Greg thanks for having me on always one of my favorite days of the year yeah uh this is awesome I love having you on you I love talking ball with you I can talk 365 days of the year with you it’s awesome that way uh but this is crazy this is Thanksgiving week it’s it’s a tough for it’s tough and fun for us in that work fantasy football because we get all this inventory we get these three games on Thanksgiving Day we get Friday accelerates our posting schedule our our talking schedule and all that uh but at the same time hey get more football exactly so like the three game Run on Thanksgiving is like seems ideal I have remember what it was in three games uh but that night cap is nice we’ll try out the uh Black Friday game this year uh see how that goes I think the the big complaint and I know this is an issue for you as well uh we have a narrower slate on Sunday and they divide it poorly yes 73 three uh just come on guys well even like la like last week There’s last two weeks we’ve had three afternoon games just give me that one more just give me like the quad box that’s all I ask I feel like I feel like though Greg Greg Jeff I feel like listen to me I feel like we’ve sorry about that I feel like we’ve gone like uh you know like total junkie here with the red zone channel it’s like forced us to like like one game is not enough anymore it must be more and then like now it’s like three is not enough at the same time I feel exactly the same about it but you know I’m also again old enough to remember when we used to have to watch them one at a time yeah that’s true that’s true uh and then like one time like one week out of the year I do my first pitch Arizona trip and I don’t have red zone or anything I’m stuck with whatever’s on network TV and I’m like oh what is going on here what do I do how do I keep track of everything it’s so funny then like okay I guess I’m going to be on NFL plus a lot this week this week I try to catch up and oh yeah that’s okay too it’s fine you know I don’t have to have my perfect setup every week is that the same deal that you do though like you know as you’re writing during the week you’ve got all the games running kind of in real time one at a time and watch them then you know after watching them in parallel you do them serially throughout the week yeah yep that that’s my uh method there no I I will at copas some sometimes I’ll watch the condensed games as opposed to the full game the coaches version and all that just I have so many hours in the day and I move a little slower than I used to too uh so it’s okay um but that that’s the way it is uh let’s talk about this week There’s there some really tough decisions this week uh starting at quarterback I want to start off with uh Jaden Daniels you know has are we is the cliff King Kings bear experience starting to get found out are they starting to come get you know is this a are this a different offense than they was before is the injury a big de deal here because the last or four weeks this Washington offense hasn’t been the same I think the kingsbery answer is the is the easy one right that’s the one we because we’ve known it we’ve seen it over the course of time we’ve also seen though you know rookie quarterbacks Kyler Murray had a great deal of success for a couple Seasons but but sustaining that success in his offense seems hard because defenses do figure it out also defenses have probably to some degree figured out Jaden Daniels strengths right and they’re working to those and I think the the downturns kind of coincided with the injury as well um but I think right now you know if you’re playing him you’re playing that first month of the Season you’re not playing the reality of what is now there also been some issues on the offensive line his tackles have been beat up I think that’s been a factor now we’ve got the Back Field beat up the receiving core is not really robust you know you don’t you know like Noah Brown is is like given some volume but but is he really a a dangerous high-end threat or the kind of consistent producer like how Perry mcen is even the consistent producer we all want him to be at this point so I think there’s like a lot of EVS or a lot of uh items that are that are that are holding Daniel’s back right now like he’s a fantastic player he’s going to be phenomenal over the course of time I think right now as you’re sitting here you have to you know you have to play the reality of the moment and I want to say since week seven what is he like quarterback 17 or 16 or something in that range right I think you need to I need like the upside is there right like look you’re talking the guy who still might play or not Anthony Richardson every given any given week because of that super high-end upside and maybe you need that some week right maybe you need a swing for the fense play I think you still think of Jaden Daniels as that but just realize he hasn’t hit it for a while yeah he hasn’t uh and I don’t know if the ribs are part of that still he was willing to run a little bit more against the Cowboys this last week we’ve seen in previous weeks but also there’s three quarters of the pretty stagnant offense and then all of a sudden a la fourth quarter of Madness in that game uh one really horrific horrific prevent the win defense there by the Cowboys play I I still don’t understand how that play happened how many times do we see that though over the course like how many plays in that game alone like the kavante turban spin that that he was spinning against nobody and it seemed like the most effective spin of the day five yards away from anybody that that you know seems like that’s the NFL I know you know we’re doing the show on serus Mike Dempsey and I during the games and it seems like they’re usually a tale of two halves the first half were all oh damn I wish this was a good game and the second half they just light up and and how many times do you get it on X or you know Blue Sky wherever where you know someone’s lamenting your your takes on a player and like I just try to remind people you know they play two halves of football I know you want to get in on this like in the first quarter but might be a different story when all is said and done I think we’re seeing some of that a lot yeah last last Thursday you guys got the awesome snowfill second half we had the first half there which is I mean there were some moments but that second half was crazy Bonkers I mean there’s so many things to react to there where we were getting kind of some crazy you know some just eh stuff there it feels like that that’s the case uh we we you and I you know we both have shows on serus back toback on Monday and Thursday nights with that Standalone game and sometimes you know we get some really crazy good games but uh you know like like Ravens Bengals okay we both got to enjoy a lot of Bonkers to that one that was super fun but for sure I I think like the perception is maybe because we’re working like there there like a lot of bad games I don’t think they’re as bad as we think they are because we’re probably on the air and we’re having to talk about them in the moment I think this year more of them have ended up being pretty pretty exciting even Al Michaels seems like he’s getting into some of them yeah absolutely and you know the thing is I everybody that’s the other thing I I miss out on everybody complaining about El Michaels because I I I I can’t have the volume on I’m broadcasting there you know you know I don’t I get to miss out on the Manning brothers and that’s a bummer uh because I think that the Manning cast I I’ve enjoyed it when I’ve caught parts of it there uh belich che’s appearances apparently been very good I’ve missed out on all of them but I think belich media version of belich is you know so much better than the coaching version of belich inside the NFL you know the our show Ryan Clark and long Chris long and and who else uh ooo uh it’s a pretty entertaining show and you get some pretty uh pretty interesting views and a little more behind the scenes than obviously Bill Bel was giving you I’m waiting to see if you know has the game passed him by from like the coaching angle or is he gonna get back into it that’s going to be interesting to see what he can do if he does get back into it i’ kind of like I’m kind of I’d like to see how it played out if you yeah me too I I’d like to see him and Vel both get head coaching jobs next year um I think the window is now you know this this offseason’s got to be it for him it’s now or never for him so rael’s going back to the Bengals right when they fire Zack Taylor yeah maybe um and I would I wouldn’t mind that uh you know I I I go back and forth on Taylor because some of this is clearly not his fault like not signing Jesse baits two years ago still hold that against the front office there because it made such a difference hey we drafted baits before we can find the next one or maybe you can’t maybe you didn’t I don’t know but same time H every September they’re just not ready to answer the bell and I don’t know the not paying javar Chase I mean like you know is it not like for me like every day you wait it gets more expensive yes lesson yeah right like you would think I I would have thought they would have got something done I mean I know the Bengals have a have a you know like a reputation as being Chief skates but they’re really not they paid up some big money I mean Joe burrow there you know they made him one of the truly highest paid players at his position and and I think theyve they’ve done that before with players I just was surprised they’re they’re dragging their feet or waiting it out maybe it just has to do with the other contract gued money deal yeah it’s all about the guaranteed money and the complaints that he’s not liquid enough and I don’t know if I I I buy into that but you know with with the guaranteed money you have to have that cash up front um and so that’s always been something that’s held them back and doing that’s why T Higgins is going to be playing for another team next year and it’s going to stink it’s G to just because he’s going to be great for maybe for well maybe you know like the grass isn’t always greener though you know these the new destinations don’t always work out fantastic for some of these assets I’m like I I relive my you know the you you go back this far like the Alvin Harper move from from Dallas to to Tampa Bay was one of the first like big flea free Agia flops you know in at the wide receiver position just seems like sometimes the you know like the success you have is in part you know like not taking anything away from the talent of the individuals and all that but the the scheme you’re in the play calls the quarterback all these factors right so you’re not necessarily like I get it you know getting the money is all is all important but from our perspective sometimes the leaving the most ideal location doesn’t end up with the most ideal results oh 100% agree 100% And that’s definitely true all the time and especially initially it takes a while right look at Kurt Cousins this year now Grant he’s coming back from an Achilles too but you know those first couple weeks clearly wasn’t like in sync with everybody you need those reps you need that time to kind of get that to work together I want them to get that money I do I want I want I want them to get paid with the Bengals though I I I love te I want him to stay but it’s probably not gonna happen but all right uh Jordan love it’s hard to be a fan Jeff that’s for sure I take I I take a different approach I hate all 32 teams equally uh so I don’t have worry about that with the fan part Jeff I understand man a lot of people just root for their fantasy team they just root for their bets and that is fine you can you consume the NFL the way you consume the NFL it’s all good for that uh Jordan love we had a question on there uh earlier uh at the start of the the podcast uh Jordan love versus Jaden Daniels I wanted to talk about Jordan love anyhow because he’s not playing at the level he was at the end of the year last year he’s making that at least one critical mistake every game the Packers are doing all right but it it’s not really what we paid for and not what the Packers paid for when they send him that big deal gets the dolphins on Monday on on Thursday night uh you know dolphins are an ascendant defense right now it’s I think it’s kind of a tricky game it is for sure and you’re right I love I mean like last year from what week 10 on he was quarterback three behind Lamar Jackson Josh Allen that was it so uh and clearly he’s not there the interceptions you mentioned I think did he throw one last week I think it been had been like eight straight games with an interception um and so it’s been a struggle and I think part of that is not having that through reli well part of it from our perspective is there’s not a single wide receiver you can invest in and take advantage of there right it seems to be mix and match and we knew this going into the season when they kept telling us we don’t need a number one we have all these guys well they do have all these guys and if you multiply them together they’re almost a wide receiver one but I think that’s something maybe they need to address o over the off season and and look I think love is going to be very good I don’t think he’s as good right now as we saw him at the tail end of last year obviously I don’t know that he is as good as we saw him at the tail last year part of that it’s going to be the resources they put around him right fortunately right now they can lean into Josh Jacobs who seems to be more than more than capable of carrying this offense you know on his own and then making a few plays here and there but when you have like receivers I know you know Christian Watson was the player I invested in like ninth round pick there was two guys I was drafting in the ninth round Christian Watson or Jameson Williams one of those has worked pretty well one of those is not right and and so we heard all the talk you know well he went to see the scientists and they fix the hamstrings they did this year he’s gonna go back to the scientists and they’re gonna work on the hands yeah oh my gosh that dropped right before halftime last week oh swung so many fantasy matchups could have ended that game basically the week before yeah go ahead well yeah but think about how he started his career what was the first play you remember of him Viking y bouncing off his hand so but you’re right last week we saw we were tantalized we got that taste of what could be and so uh we need that a little more consistent basis but the same with Jaden Reed like you know the the you know we kind of had the hopes that he was going to be the Wisconsin Debo as Michael F Florio our friend in NFL Network calls him and and they just can’t seem to get anybody going with any consistency it’s more of a of a a whacka situation week to week which guy is going to show up and and you throw in you know the Davian Wick week here and there or the Malik week on occasion I mean it’s it’s pretty hard to predict so that makes it hard to to leverage the other half of whatever Jordan loves doing and right now you can’t play the Jordan love side of it either so it’s rough you haven’t played in serious seum host League until you’ve picked up and dropped on Tavian Wicks I’m I’m convinced of it there I’ve gotten whipsawed by that guy so many times this year it’s crazy you know he had the two you know he has the massive game when nobody starts him then you know you have one of the receivers missing next week against the Rams and he gets nothing absolutely nothing and that happened to be the Tucker craft week you know against the Rams instead it’s like okay okay fine Tucker craft went off I get it but it’s so he’s not playable every week like Tucker craft needs the the big play component to happen to make him worthwhile as well so it’s been frustrating for anybody who drafted anyone in the passing attack for this offense none of us are getting what we expected and that’s even paying the ninth round you know reasonable cost for Christian Watson I expected more yeah did Tua Tung of ioa turn the corner last week against the Pats did this is this Miami offense starting to click or is this just a game where everything kind of worked out right both um everything definitely worked out right last week but I do think they’re starting to his rde and they’re hitting stride for two reasons one is Devon Anan is is delivering it you know nearly Christian mcaffry like levels at least for our perspective and also just volume wise and that’s always the key for me is you know players volume is tied to success so closely and and so like I think that’s that’s been a big factor of jnu Smith’s you know figuring out the cracking the code on that by Mike McDaniels how to properly use jnu Smith we’ve seen the last month or so has mattered but that’s also relegated well for you know due to her circumstances kind of out of their control with two of being absent that the jayen wad Tyreek Hill Investments haven’t worked out for us right uh you know week one was great and then it has not been great and now it looks like it’s going to be one or the other along with jnu Smith like is the co-star to the John Smith show I was talking to Matt Walman earlier this week and that’s how we were describing it you know like John Smith gonna be star and so there someone’s gonna be the Star Ski to his Huts right and like and it’s gonna be one of those guys but you don’t know which one but I do think like Tua has has moved into like probably would rather play him than Jordan love this week for sure but I think like we’re getting to the point where weekly every year we go into drafts and we we find ourselves going man this guy has all these weapons why aren’t we drafting him higher you know and I think Tua kind of falls into that category except we all were kind of a little bit more in on him and it didn’t pay didn’t pay off but I think it might pay off down the stretch I’m still not eager to force him into starting lineups he’s more of a you know quarterback two and superflex for me but I think you could play him any week and like like have reasonable hope that you get some decent numbers yeah this is this might be his trickiest week of the remaining schedule uh you know at Green Bay and we all know about track record with him and Dees yes yeah and it’s going to be cold it’s going to be in the 20s on Thursday night uh maybe some light snow some you know little you know it’s we’ll see about that aspect of it there but it’s it’s not going to be ideal uh and and Green Bay is actually yeah that’s the other difference this year with between last year with Green Bay going back to Jordan lovees they actually have a legit defense this year they do uh they don’t have a Joe Berry defense um and so maybe some of this is that Jordan love was in a bunch of shootouts last year whereas now they have a road in running back and they have a good defense so they run the team differently because of that too so it works out pretty well that way uh we are going to go move on to running backs but before we do that uh we are sponsored by the good folks over at DraftKings pick six here’s a quick note from them we’re proud to be brought to you by DraftKings pick six so many NFL offerings each week over at with Bob Harris football Die Hard uh you can find his work at football guys you can hear him on Sirius XM fantasy sports radio uh with uh his good buddy Mike Dempsey our good buddy Mike Dempsey uh every uh Monday Wednesday Thursday nights uh on the channel Friday night too uh Friday night Saturday night too yeah and I I did the uh contest with you guys a couple of weeks ago as always that’s always super fun I love doing that by the way it’s it’s one of my favorite things of the year the one that is the highlight of our week every single week nobody likes that more than Dey no one loves winning that more than Dempsey every week but but you know you kind of got to play the long game as well from our perspective yeah and it’s fun watching the the hosts and the the listeners come in and being a little more mercenary yeah and just the whole thing the future yeah forget no moral Hazard here let’s just go get the best I love it all right James Connor was really stifled by this the Seattle Seahawks last week uh which is a shame because prior to that he had been you know the Cardinals have been just this shredding team he’s been great he’s kind of one of the engines that drives that Arizona offense when we last saw him prior to the buyer they were killing the Jets uh just like a perfect offensive game and then they just got shut down by Mike McDonald’s crew in Seattle what do we expect in another tough match up this week against Minnesota yeah be hard to run again the Minnesota defense is interesting because the secondary is super generous but the the front half is is way tough tough on the run and also tough on quarterbacks I mean the the pressure if the quarterback can beat the Blitz and beat the the Brian flores’s you know schemes uh then you’re going to have some success so I’m a little worried about uh Connor this week and I think you know we’re seeing a little bit of Trey Benson and get a little taste of what you know the future looks like there and and maybe the Cardinals are are too I think you know what I keep going back to Jeff’s last year’s you know late season run by the Cardinals you know Kyler Murray came in like what week 10 and played reasonably well in an offense he’s never played in right he’s been an air raid guy since he was in diapers and and here he comes in and it’s a more traditional offense that Drew pening runs but by the end of the season the last four games they were one of the best offenses in football yeah and I don’t know if we get the same kind of buildup this year if the schedule will allow it uh but but I do think you know once I get past this week I’m a little more confident in James Conor who has just really been an overlooked commodity during his entire time in Arizona he’s consistently highend finishes super solid I know people the perception is there are injury issues he does Miss some games here and there so I don’t want to say you know I tend to be injury agnostic I think everyone gets hurt it’s the NFL right and so you know you better built a roster that can help compensate for those weeks when your top players are out or on by or whatever uh so I love Conor and I love I like I like this offense I think we all wonder if you know what is the real Tyler M who is this guy uh and and that seems to be a little defining factor I was I was so encouraged the way he came into that offense though and clearly worked hard at it like he he was not playing Call of Duty the entire time he was he was off he was putting some work in on that offense because he hit the ground running pretty good so part of it is always like you know we you know we just mentioned it with Jaden Daniels I mean it’s not like defensive coordinators go to bed they’re they’re a exactly right trying to figure these things out so I I think Tyler Murray seems to be the I don’t want to call him the weak spot of that offense because he is a strength but he is the he’s the thing that slows them down the most and I think it’s not James Conor I think James Conor is basically the the heartbeat of that offense when he’s on point everything else works better and I don’t know that he will be on point this week yeah I agree because Minnesota’s really tough against the run really really tough against the run so I had a hard time ranking him uh another play I’m having a hard time with we had breaking news this morning Breece Hall uh s sitting out with knee soreness and he’s uncertain for this weekend all of a sudden coming off the Buy this is kind of a shocker here he actually looked good against the Colts prior to the bye week uh you know facing the Seattle defense we just talked about shutting down James Connor I don’t know what to do with Bree Hall this week yeah I kind of had him outside I want to say my top 10 where do I have him at this week I think I just moved him down in in in events of this news so I I I I think one once again like the early part of the Season made it tough to figure him out because it was not going well I think the change to Todd Downing as play caller kind of worked in his favor they put a little more effort into getting him the ball um I think I’m I think I’m going to be I think I’m gonna be more more interested in him in DFS if he plays than I am if I season Longs I mean you’re gonna play him season long but this week you know might be the last week you actually have options right you got the big by week coming next week so I think he’s a hard guy to sit and you’re hoping he gets the volume but this offense the the times that hits best is when Aaron Rogers is working in he hasn’t been working very well no that’s true that’s absolutely true uh and it’s so funny like they had the the play callor change earlier on um right after that Bree Hall seemed like he got unlocked for two games they were throwing him the B that Buffalo game remember they were throwing Bree Hall the ball and it’s like do more of this this is great do you remember this summer when Aaron Rogers was talking about you know his he said he was surprised at how great a receiving asset ree Hall was in Red Zone circumstances I mean you got two great receivers right and yeah and and I get it but but he was talking about that this summer you think that would have played out more you kind of It kind of helps set the expectation I think we look at the running backs we were drafting early in drafts Jeff it was uh you know uh after Christian mcaffrey ree Hall beon 1 a 1B however you saw them and we thought they could push to be that maybe running back one overall if something happened to mcaffry well Lo behold Lo and hold it did happen to mcaffry but saquan Barkley was probably a guy that was at the tail end of that conversation and he’s the guy that’s come on the volume has mattered to him I don’t think any of us saw Alvin CA coming but I think Hall has been Hall and Robinson both have been you know compared to where we were what we invested in him have been a little disappointing yeah absolutely um and you know I want you know you watch Robinson play and you’re just like just give him the Red Zone carries why do we have to run Tyler alir into the pile three times before we finally give Robinson that goal line thing always bugged me it was like okay it’s this is a reference you’ll get because you’re you you’re of the same age as me like Brad Baxter would always vulture touchdowns from Freeman mcneel Barry Sanders would lose touchdown carries these guys are good at the at the line because it’s not just heft it’s not just pushing the line find you know Vision matters even in short yardage situations it always drove me crazy that these really good backs would lose goal line carries yeah I mean we’ve been seen a little bit this year with Hall with brayan Allen coming in at times I mean I see that zero in the back field way more often than than I think should and I feel the same way about aler as well I mean like why are we doing this and we go back to again the talk and I keep going back to it because I think it’s super important you know one of the things that makes Christian mcaffrey a player and a half at his position or has in the past is the fact that he gets every touch right it just you know they they don’t pull him out and you look at guys that surprised us last year whether it was Rashad White had as many carries almost as many touches as Christian mcaffrey he puts in a remarkable season you think of kir Williams down the stretch last year he’s getting 25 touches a game he was running back two over the final five games because of the volume right and you look at Alvin chra this year I mean he’s putting up tremendous numbers why it’s tied to the volume so Joe Mixon this year getting all the volume saquon Barkley getting all the volume and doing amazing things with all the volume so I mean that that’s so when I see a back like Bree Hall I wonder why he’s not getting the volume when I see bejon Robinson who’s who’s honestly when I take an objective look at it this feels more like just a complaint that why isn’t he getting all of it because he’s getting a good number and so is probably Bree Hall but I think you know we’re greedy as fantasy managers We Want It All We we wanted to go back to the houseon days there where you know the the workload back was there was 20 of them yeah you know and we count on that yeah and that’s just probably not gonna ever happen again uh it’s just the way it is uh I’m getting so many questions already about Kem hunt versus Isaiah Pacho this week the problem is we don’t know I mean I I I the the the short answer for me is I don’t know how the breakdown of carries is going to work out um are they going to ease Pacho back in this week against the Raiders on Friday and we have to make this decision early that’s the other that that that we really have to it’s a really tough call we start parsing the language that’s being used and I know like Matt Nei spoke yesterday and and he was kind of like a little more positive than I’ve heard but then I heard Patrick Mahomes make a comment about how great it’s going to be when peo back up to speed right I think okay and then I think back to other players coming off those lower leg fractures Tony Pard I’m looking at you yes you know by his own admission it took him 10 games to get right and that was you know six months removed from the injury right when he started the season so or seven months so so yeah so I’m I’m like all over the I’m all over on this one I ask everyone I talk to every single guest we have uh uh on the show and and all the people I work with like what do you think about this I think you’re playing the one you have more than likely based on the matchup but I think it’s like entirely possible that you know if I’m the Chiefs and I’m looking at this I say wow we’re in pretty good shape we’re heading into the playoffs wouldn’t it be great to have a guy that’s at 100% hitting the playoffs with fairly fresh legs when we have a guy in Kem hunt who’s more than serviceable getting the job done at a reasonably high level so I’m totally torn on this one again I think if you have them if you don’t have both of them but you have one of them you could play the one you Have and Have a reasonable expectation there or at least a hope of getting something done I’m looking at all my options carefully before I roll with either of them this week though yeah me too like I I think I’m probably starting hunt if I have them I probably Pacho I’ve got them in the Scott Fishbowl and it’s Pro it’s pretty much comes down to my last spot there on the roster because we have multiple flexes it’s the beautiful thing about that league and this week everybody’s on the table too so as long as you survive the injury luck you know you you should have options and of of course now that we’re in the playoffs of that too like I I want to make sure I get the right lineup there I want to make the right decision but I’m probably I don’t know if I’m going to start PCO there or not is the short answer I honestly I don’t have a good I I think we’re all in the same boat we don’t have a good feeling we want to believe but you know the realist inside us you know like all the factors don’t work in his favor and all the factors do work in Kareem Hunt’s favors the fear that we have is the you know the reason we play a lot of people that probably we shouldn’t play is fomo we get the fear of missing out on the huge game yes and I mean I I try to divorce myself from that and say look if I missed the breakout that’s okay I know it’s there and I can play it going forward but it’s all based on whatever what the options are you have available to you in the moment right and that’s the thing don’t don’t get caught up in playing the name because it’s back right right play the numbers that you have the the people who have been delivering if they’ve been delivering at a serviceable level if you’re in a bind all hail man P Go’s back roll them out but if you have developed other depth and and players that have come in and filled Inc capably for for you don’t give up on them just to play an uncertain situation I mean and I get all the reasons why I mean we all know what Isaiah Peko is we all know what this matchup can be against the Raiders can be super favorable um but I wouldn’t go overboard on it yeah this is also a Jonathan Brooks comment by the way too it is 100% yeah and that that’s that’s that’s the cautionary tale right there is why you don’t force it a week early you’d rather have the fomo you know rather have a on your bench than have The Two Carries On Your starting lineup there for sure 100% three snaps yeah and I think that also applies to the Chargers right now Gus you know Gus Edwards versus kamani Vidal who will presumably be active this week I know people are gonna want to force Vidal pick him up sure 100% agree you can’t start him I couldn’t I mean that like you know every every there’s a player like that appears all the time I can remember what it was uh khil Herbert showing up in Cincinnati on the moment like yeah you know like you you get worried you get worried that it’s going to take the value of the guy you are playing there uh whatever like in Hunt’s case you’re wor you know I think that’s probably the concern for him is Peko gonna take him the concern for pcho is he gonna get to work maybe neither of those things happens maybe it just goes on as it’s been going on but you have to realize when we’re doing this as fantasy managers you’re playing odds you’re you’re playing a range of outcomes you’re not I mean as much as we like to sit here and say we know what the outcome is going to be we all have to understand there is a range of outcomes and and one end is very good and one end is not you have to be mindful of both sides of that absolutely 100% agree on that one there we are going to talk wide receivers next but first got a quick note from our friends and they are good friends over at Circa Resort and Casino in Las Vegas the end of the season is getting closer catch the big game poolside at Stadium swim at circuit Casino and Resort in Las Vegas six temperature controlled pools a massive 143 foot screen and booming game sound plus view the pyot Technics and visual effects throughout the game grabb the Circa Las vegas.com I know rowi loves loves Circa we go there every summer for our annual conference now and uh I go there for radio row to promote a couple of their contests right before the start of the Season uh it’s it’s a great place for fantasy players in football fans alike yeah it looks like a great party every year I feel very lefted out yeah it’s it’s yeah and hey go there sometime just the sports book alone is just ridiculous um it it is crazy nice uh and I and the the owner there derck Stevens is living his best life I see him there you know every time I’m there we he’s there at his his own place you know he’s always shows up on Von you know of course it helps that his lions are awesome this year he he’s very fantasy friendly and you know I love you know I love businesses that sport you and I grew up fighting for space everywhere we could um and now it’s mainstream and I love it yeah it’s totally true I me I I think we you know you can kind of remember the the point in like what I want to say the mid the late 90s where the NFL finally realized like hey wait a minute these guys watch every game right to the very end this is our bread and butter we should to them not fight them yeah exactly the credit the NFL got it first they did the NFL and NBA got it before baseball did um you know and now it’s just great I don’t have to explain what I do to people now people get it I do have to explain it but not as much yeah exactly uh let’s talk wide receivers Malik neighbors does the squeaky wheel get the grease this week yeah to be fair the squeaky wheel has been getting greased all year long I think what does he have a 30% Target share pretty much more or less every single week uh maybe gets at the full game this week malague neighbors is you know I I go in every year and I and this is more of a draft situation than uh than an inseon situation but when I’m drafting players I don’t let less than ideal quarterback situation scare me off I mean we have too much evidence that that that good receivers overcome their quarterback situation I mean like and and sometimes the quarterbacks end up being better than we think not always like Adam Thelen you know being wide receiver 12 through what 12 games last year finished his 18 playing with one of the worst quarterbacks we’ve ever had as a rookie coming into the league with Bryce young you can think about like where were drafting Mike Evans like thinking Baker Mayfield was not going to be great well turned out Baker Mayfield was pretty great last year and Mike Evans was was as well or the year before Gino Smith is gonna ruin DK meaf and he and Tyler Locka both finish inside the top 20 I mean like I could go on and on about the players and so Malik neighbors was a guy I was drafting I’m like heavily invested in for that reason like why am I drafting Marvin Harrison and early in round two when Malik Harrison is sitting there waiting for me or Malik neighb is waiting for me in round four and so I’ve been really happy with you know the early portion of the season for sure and and look this is not like I’m not this is more of a draft talk that don’t let the ideal quarterback scare your away because in season I want the best quarterback play possible right but you don’t always get that and I think neighbors has proven he can get the job done regardless quarterback so we’ll see if it’s gonna be Drew lock I know Tommy DeVito just got listed as questionable I see the latest the latest word seems to be that that it’s looking like lock will go so that doesn’t scare me off and I think you know he was pretty squeaky this week I mean he was yes he was and his mom was too on social media you know when you got the diva wide receiver’s mom uh going off you know it’s it’s great but well the best part is they the coaches brought him in and said hey look at the film we did try to get you the ball in the first half and he acknowledged this after this meeting and says yeah he did but I I stand by my comments totally I need the ball more right so so I think you know like it makes sense to get him the ball I think that’s you know because I look at the situation for the Giants in this game I don’t I don’t want to say Dallas like changed any Minds last week their defense was played better than we expected or the commanders played worse than we expected whatever it was I think there’s some room here I think you’re probably still playing Malik neighbors as you invested in him and thinking he’s going to end up being a you know a solid wide receiver to with wide receiver one upside if all the numbers fall to the line or they hit him on some big plays is perfectly reasonable I think the decisions come in with you know juell son you know at the tail end maybe the wide receiver three conversation if I need him I could probably play him if I have something better i’ probably play something better Darius Leon goes out the window Tyrone Tracy not related to the quarterback more related to his own ball security issues that something he needs to get squared away but for right now I felt like the Devin single ter touchdown last week was a was a punishment you know touchdown a message you know hold on to the football but but for the wide receivers I think neighbors will be fine and I do think you know there is something to be said for the squeaky wheel Theory and and again he’s been pretty well greased all year might get a little more greasy this week yeah might so do you prefer DeVito or lock if you have to if you were making the choice just for neighbor sake uh the optimism of the unknown suggests I will go with Dre lock right right I don’t I know how bad deito could be I’m not sure yet how bad Drew lot can be maybe number three yep absolutely I like that I like that theory uh do you buy into Revenge games and if so are you on Jerry Judy this week I mean every game’s a Revenge game for somebody right right so I’m like I’m like it I think it does matter to players I don’t know how much you know how high up how much higher can they crank up the intensity level right yeah um so I’m a little concerned about the passing matchup as I am every week for every team facing the Denver Broncos but some teams have had success right so um I think the success for Cleveland will come if they get back into the neighborhood of 40 plus attempts right which we saw the first three game of stars if we see that there’s plenty of bandwidth to go around and and like I’ve been Jerry Judy uh i g to say I’ve had a little bit of a blind spot to him or maybe he’s he’s blinded me to him you know early in his time in Denver and I feel like I was blinded to him when jamus took over or maybe I was just blinded by Cedric Tilman I was way more interested in Cedric Tilman everybody was yeah right and I look I think Cedric could still be you know that player we saw the first couple games that 20 point guy that you know or certainly High Teens guy but man I’m not gonna be dismissive of Jerry Judy you look at the targets he had in the three 40 plus you know past games it was what 11 11 and eight yeah that’s again volume I’m gonna you know I’m gonna sound like a broken record here but this is what I’m looking for and he’s getting it and by the way Elijah Moore is not being overlooked in this passing offense either when it’s work so yeah I agree so I you know I’m not 100% you know confident this week you know I was like way out on Atlanta last week but that you know I mean the again the Denver defense there have been weeks but weren’t most of those weeks that they weren’t good when there was no pass sech hand so he was he out a couple games with the concussion so so yeah I’m I’m like I’m trying to temper my enthusiasm about this whole passing attack I think Nick chub is not necessarily going to be the guy you know be last year’s Nick chub this year maybe in the future Maybe he could you know get all the way back but I don’t think we’re going to see him at that part of that is the offensive Line’s not as good uh and that needs a little bit of repair as well so so I do think they might need a little jamus Winston and running into the Juggernaut that is Bo Knicks uh they might need to throw the ball much so I wouldn’t be out on Judy but I’m not I’m not leaning into that I’m not leaning into it this week like like I was a little I was a little interested last week and ended up playing him like I don’t have him in I didn’t I hardly drafted him at all I think the only in fact the only time I drafted him was like a panic draft early in the year uh you know how you get caught up like you get sniped right and you you don’t have someone in your pocket and I grabbed them and I really regret it in the moment now I’m really happy about it yeah uh you only do like 7,000 drafts you and Mike both but right but the but I think that that that you know I like I don’t wna I don’t want to get get carried away with the you know like again we we tend to like blow in our mind up to extremes like this is a super tough matchup I me people are still playable people still producing super tough matchups not necessarily the people going directly against Pat s tan right uh some have but most haven’t right so I mean you got to kind of take that into account as you as you look at your list of options available um in the league that I have them in I probably will be playing Judy this week uh but I wouldn’t be looking to force him in in this matchup yeah I think that’s a fair comment and especially if Tillman doesn’t play it actually skews negatively in a way because that means more likely that San’s on him right I think X day may work out for tman but but I I haven’t heard a lot of positive reporting on him yet this no I haven’t either yeah I’ve been trying to keep an eye out for that uh the Carolina Panthers Bryce young has been cromulent lately you know I don’t know if maybe even good against the Chiefs I I think he actually showed some I think he was yeah is there a Carolina receiver that you would be happy to start in a pretty good match up against Tampa Bay this week like I I I keep wanting to go back to thand and I was a little bit like I think I pushed it a little bit last week and clearly he was not you know speaking of being eased back in it seemed to be the case I don’t know where where Jaylen coker’s at this week um I think that might be a factor too but it seems like Legette is the guy like if you had to play one he’s the one you want to play uh right now and I and I I probably still have more theing and I will probably still consider playing him because I think this will be a better week back I keep going back the last year the connection was established I know early this year it didn’t seem to be the same and it wasn’t because Deontay Johnson was there he was commanding a huge Target share I think you know if you heading into last week’s game if you go back through the full 18 games they played they’ve played together up to that point uh young and Thelen the target share was well over 20% I think it was close to 25% yeah I could play that right yeah yeah that’s right I I agree but and every Carolina receiver is at 25% rostered by the way um whether it’s Thelen whether it’s liette Coker is Maybe you know maybe even less so because he missed last week uh you know I think it’s interesting because I do think that this is a match up you kind of want I sure I’m kind of like lowkey looking forward to this game Carolina Tampa Bay didn’t think I’d be saying that in week 13 but here we are this might be one where I have a fair amount of investment in a in a gpp or two in on both sides of the ball right stack this game and and and like I thought that the thing that was impressive about Bryce Young and the thing that it seemed like it was a miss a couple couple points was you know he was drafted for why not for his imposing physical prowess or stature but for his processing his metal processing I think we finally saw it this against the Chiefs where he was effective against the Blitz and he was looking at all the places he needed to look and going through his progressions quickly and doing all the things that that made him the number one pick overall and I wonder how much of this is related to Dave Canalis and maybe maybe we all needed to be a little bit patient uh with this situation because I mean that’s been canalysis thing going back I mentioned goino Smith the rebound for Gino Smith came with Canalis as quarterback’s coach the rebound for Baker came with Canales as as his play caller and one of the things that they relied on in both those cases was strong rushing attacks I think we’re seeing that in Carolina I think all the pieces are there right and so I think this is still not a this year thing like the rest of the season thing I’m not gonna assume that Bryce young is climbing up into the playable ranks but it gives you a little hope for the future and I think it like you know if nothing else the game against the Chiefs I would say forestalled any notion the Panthers are going to use a first round pick on a quarterback agreed and uh you know I I was especially encouraged by the two-minute drills at each half um you know that that’s where you know have to make the quick processing you have to you know decide on the Fly and you know that’s where you saw an improvement whereas before in the past I feel like it was DOA um same thing with Caleb Williams and Chicago for that matter that I i’ I’ve been on an apology to her I apologize to you Thomas Brown for for scoffing at whatever impact you might have on this offense it’s either he’s way smarter than I realized or Shane Waldren is way worse than I gave him credit for him maybe a combination of the two yeah but it’s but but Thomas Brown it’s been different with him and one of the differences getting the ball out of Caleb Williams hands way quicker right so you don’t take all the sacks and and it’s kind of you know spreading the ball around a little more a little relying a little more on the rushing attack so maybe there’s some similarities there for what he did with Bryce young last year at thas Brown they’ve made Keen Allen usable again they’ve made even romad dun is now startable in a pinch uh DJ Mo DJ Mo yeah the one you got that’s you know we get a lot of questions I know you do on the radio like who should I play I got you know play the one you have in the be’s case absolutely absolutely uh we’re going to talk tight ends briefly one tight end at least but quick quick note from our friends at bluewire all right thank you for that thanks for bluewire for hosting us for multiple years now we really like being on their network uh let’s talk a little Kyle Pitts I know everybody’s favorite topic there so many ups and downs with him so many like just zero games I I have him down in the low teens this week Bob I I don’t know what to do with Kyle pittz what do you do with him uh I try not to play him I I like I honestly I like I think the the band of players that I feel are must plays at the tight end position is Brock Bowers George KD Trey McBride those are the must plays I think Kate auton has probably moved into that territory even with last week and now that Evans is back well the target share dip Travis Kelce you’re still playing him because his name is Travis Kelce um then you get good weeks after that I think everyone else is fair game to stream and everyone else and if you’re streaming option if the the other tight end on your on your roster’s name is Tamm Hill you should think about it carefully I mean it’s the swing for the fense play because every other tight end out there like like I like Hunter Henry I like Kyle pit is playable I don’t get me wrong I don’t want to overstate the case he’s got the role he gets the opportunities for the most part but but he just doesn’t always cash in on him neither does Tucker craft neither does you know like there’s a whole range of guys we could go through as Sam La pora dare I say doesn’t always cash in although I feel a little better about leaport the last couple weeks you yeah me too since yeah yeah but but even at that I feel like I get disappointed Mark Andrews has been totally touchdown dependent in games where he doesn’t get to touchdowns it’s not good in games where there’s Isaiah likely it’s not good uh Pat Fri mov who we thought was going to be the second option you know for the Steelers is doesn’t even hardly seem like the second option at tight end sometimes there so yeah uh it’s it’s bit a mess so I’m not eagerly forcing Kyle Pitts into lineups every week it’s a conversation of of what are my options and if one of them is Will dley I Am often known to fire the dismissal yeah sure why not uh Eli the reaper asked about mooth pits or TM Hill I’d go TM Hill I would yeah and just yeah I’ve learned to embrace TM Hill you know he he isn’t a tight end but he is and so we’ll just take it he’s eligible to be tight end you think about like all the players that you have out there who if you could put them into your tight end and they’re not really tight ends you would like happily do it because tight end is B ripped it’s a it’s a Barren Wasteland of of guys with Spike performances and if you’re gonna just rely on guys with Spike performance performances rely on the spikiest yeah sure absolutely by the way he was tight end 12 last year when all was said and done right so it’s not like there’s is some consistency but just getting the high leverage opportunities uh you know that makes a ton of difference at the position yeah yeah you just you know I used to get into such a tizzy like he doesn’t belong there he’s a quarterback no you know just take it what they take what they give you um we’ll go from there do you mind ripping through a couple Q&A before we let you go here do all right uh let’s go uh right towards off says start two Tracy Pard hunt Pacho Bucky Irving uh probably going Bucky and Pard right now all right me too I like that I like that uh J red says I learned uh sitting waddle for quinston Johns Quenton Johnson oh rough rough times there do I sit Connor for Christian Watson or Quinton Johnson I don’t I just I roll with Connor in the bad matchup even still 100% then two guys that don’t always catch the football is a is a is a dicey proposition yeah exactly exactly uh Tron says I traded Tyreek Hill and dehop to get Chase Brown overpaid need another running back uh okay just okay not a question there just statement of volum again volume volume to me is something I’m paying a lot of attention to chase Brown is getting that and he’s doing something with it absolutely absolutely agree here uh but I think the follow-up is here uh need two receivers and a flex for this week cup mclen jsn uh Brown Monty Mooney Monty if he plays Mooney if he plays wild I mean this is a lot of options here yeah I like I If Montgomery’s playing I’m playing him uh 100% I think you know like I’m assuming the shoulder I’m gonna go take them at their word that he could have come back in the game but there was a lot of it was a big workload for Gibbs last week you wonder if we don’t see if Montgomery is able to handle a little more might watch the reports closely man good I don’t know how you I don’t know I I don’t know how you said cup I don’t know how you say jsn right now right I go Cup jsn Chase Brown that’s the way I’m gonna play that there and it’s a uber safe way to play that is the safe way to play yeah that is a safe way to play McLaren’s a tough sit too though but you know he’s all Boomer bust it would be easy he would be an easy sit for me in this group The the tough decision for me is between Chase Brown and Montgomery yep me too me too and I just think because we have the short week and you have to make this I think that’s fair yeah that’s the way I’m going to go all right good question poke squid says got puka Jamar Aman raw Kiren and another one of these this is this is like the 10-man leagues we got to realize this is how people play though you know I’m always like grinding like H this is so hard well guess what this is this is the way a good chunk of people play Fantasy Football so we get these tough C problems Jamari obviously starting I’m starting those I’m starting those three receivers right off the get-go and then I’m deciding between brown Jones kirn’s got the volume kirn’s kind of been on a a little bit of a skid it seems like like a mini skid I I call it a skid but is it is it not been it’s not been great but it’s the Saints though too I’m probably leaning brown right here okay I I I can get behind that one I can definitely get behind that one there we’ll take a couple more of these and we’ll before we sign out uh who to drop Brooks or concade uh plenty of running back room has D dly and pits at tight end um Can K’s another guy that just not what we paid for this year like honestly of that group I’m probably as likely to play this Le based on the volume he’s getting and and receiving like I could you have enough tight ends to get you through I don’t know that can’s ever gonna give you a high Ed week that said I don’t know that Brooks is ever gonna give you a high Ed week I think the the hope with Brooks is next year that he that he and chuba hover emerg as a Gibbs Montgomery backfield I don’t barring an injury to chuba and for that reason I’d probably hang on to him in case there’s an injury to chuba over Kade because you have the other two pieces in place I just don’t think you know K Kade even though he’s like the most targeted guy in that offense when he’s there he just doesn’t translate to fantasy points no he doesn’t I agree I agree all right you know there are a zillion questions and I apologize we couldn’t get to all of them but you know what you can hit us up on our respective Twitter handles he’s at footall diard and of course check out Bob’s work over at football guys check them out on Sirius XM fantasy they take tons of callers uh as well so they’re happy to hear from you on that um and you can
