where we have a home fixture against Brighton and HOV albian Ben um give me your thoughts on um the opposition that we’ve got to face at the London Stadium this afternoon oh well they they you know they’re they’re very much a bit of a bogey team for us at home especially um I’m sure sure you’ll get the graphics up I think since they got promoted um what was it I know six seven years ago at the home games I think we’ve won one and they’ve won five or six so they’re they’re a great side rob you know they seem to have a good football in model should we say because they’re they’re probably punching above their weight a little bit but um you know it’s probably only 20 years ago Rob that they were in like the third division and you know playing at was it the with Dean Stadium yes you know they their progress as a club has been amazing and you know I think a lot of team probably including us look a little bit envious of how they operate um in terms of you know they’ve had quite a few new managers Rob but their their footballing philosophy still stays pretty similar and yeah they’re very successful in the um in the transfer market of you know Finding good products from abroad but not only that you look at like Danny Welbeck you know that guy you when he went there you probably thought ah see at his career within like a season or two but he’s done really well over you know a prolonged period um they got some good homegrown Talent so mate I’m very um I take my out off to Brighton and how they operate and how they play because they they play the right way yeah I mean sort of like you say about Danny Welbeck I mean you know other players that they’ve taken at the back end of their career just to give them a little bit of a shout out the likes of James Milner as well yeah um is another player who when he left Liverpool you probably thought to yourself yeah that’s him done and he’s gone there and he’s he’s still doing a job for them uh but like you say they they managed to sort of conjure up these sort of Diamonds in the Rough that sort of like you think well I’ve never really heard of this guy like um for example Julio eniso xia Pedro players that you sort of like you you’re like who who the bloody hell’s that sort CaRu MoMA most sort of like Premier League fans would sort of go the name means nothing to me um yeah and and they sort of like they they come together as one Co cohesive unit and and they’ve done it for many many years and you’re right you know they’ve changed managers they’ they’ve changed players and all the rest of it and yet the philosophy the underlying philosophy of the club Remains the Same um exactly what Ken says there and good morning William uh 21 years ago go Brighton against West Ham at the whff stadium was a two two draw so you know and how quickly it changes another one Rob Adam Lana you know uh that you thought was probably not going to do much and he’s done well morning bin loung and and and you know I I like their defense I’ve always like Lewis dunk yeah um Webster look solid you know they’ve got their def they’re all quite technical players you know that sometimes you’d look at their team on paper do you know what I mean you’d look at their team and go well we’ve got a better team than them yeah and then there’s been occasions when you you look at it and you think well why can’t we get near them do you know what I mean but it’s just they seem to have a really good system but that being said Rob we went there and done them 3-1 last season bit of a smash and grab but um I mean just looking at the form though Rob you’d have to say their form’s not great and um marginally ours look slightly better so hopefully we can build on our mini Revival I mean I know it’s only a win and a draw but you you know there’s Improvement on in results and performances I think and you know looking at that Rob you know Palace Palace who haven’t been doing very well have gone away and and done them so um they’re off the back of a bit of a poor result there draw at less than not bad to defeat up Fulham so so look even though I I rap Brighton I’m not sure that they are the ACT you know I’m I don’t think they’re as good as they have been in previous years so I mean we’re probably not either so you know let’s let’s see how we get on and um but I like say I think there’s some positives to take from the last couple of games so let’s uh let’s do that let’s get some before I get the the what you think the teams are sort like the star players and the teams are going to be I suppose it’s probably fair to get some Squad news out there for all and Sury so I’ll start with our guests the visitors Brighton and HOV albian so as far as they’re concerned on the results that I’ve got available to me here Adam Webster is out he’s he’s not going to be available for today but they have quite a number of players that have question marks over them uh I’ll give you their names there Joel veltman Danny Welbeck Matt O’Reilly ferdy kolu Jack hwood James Milner and suly Marsh all of them are rated in some way shape or form as having question marks over their availability for the game today so with that in mind Ben who do you believe is the key player for Brighton and hob albian I mean before I come on to that Rob just looking at this even though I thought Welbeck was still doing well I didn’t realize he was their top scorer and in fact has outscored any of our players as well so I mean that’s uh that’s a great signing and he’s probably one of them players that he would he’s not probably not fast if he’s starting every week but you know he can come on and Nick a goal if you need it so um fair play at Danny W if I’m Onish R I was having a look at their squad a like a lot of these teams I haven’t watched Brighton inside out but there’s one player that I see a few highlights of that I thought oh he looks dangerous and that was actually geio Rutter um and I think it was against Spurs when I think there was two-nil down and ended up winning 3-2 and I think he might have he either nicked a couple or he scored a goal and got an assist and he looked he looked like he had so much desire do you know what I mean he looked to Powerhouse that would just he he went past people and it looked like he wen’t going to get there and he did get there like power and a little bit like muhamed Kudos sometimes that he’s got that power and pace and finishing ability um that if I’m honest he needs to he needs to show up a little bit more um so yeah I I like the look of jio rata for for Brighton and um but hopefully we can keep him and others quiet okay so now let’s flip the question so who’s the players that on our side of things now again I uh probably should give some news on our situation so the players that we know are not going to be available today fairly clear that M Antonio isn’t going to be available today and not for some considerable time I would say moving forward you don’t even really need to mention probably not but as a courtesy he is he is a player that’s not available so I don’t think he’ll ever kick a ball again Rob uh I think that’s uh possible that’s I hope that’s I hope he does come back obviously even if it’s just for one game just to prove a point um but yeah I mean we’ll wait and see on that one but he’s definitely not available today Carlos cair he picked up a fifth yellow card against Bournemouth so that is him sitting this one out Jean Clair to Debo you know has he got an injury has he not got an injury is it all it seems to be look whatever um he is a doubt as far as today’s concern for whatever reason you believe um and it may well be that he isn’t involved today so with that being the case Ben what are your thoughts on our key player do you know what mate I I think what I want to see you know there there’s key players all over the pitch um but and I hold me as I never actually see the bowmouth game I listen to it on the radio because um what I found recently in this season is when I watch us we lose and when I don’t watch us we we win or or we draw so I thought right I’m not watching I’m trying to do my bit for us to get result and that means I’m abstaining from watching us for a period of time good so you’re a [ __ ] Jinx but um around the world Cruise I’m going on if you walk up the game plank I’m getting off but I but I by the sound of it I heard it seemed like Max kilman had a good game and um I think for me you your positive results are um built from the back so I think kilman being solid and dependable and thring himself in front of everything and and his good passing for me that’ll be the key to a positive result well just as uh you you’re mentioning that my 11 has come up and this could get people uh talking because there’s a couple of what I think could be considered controversial contentious picks um I’ve gone fabianski in goal I don’t think there’s any argument over that he had a sensational game against Bournemouth arguably I would say not arguably he was our man of the match and probably was the man of the match of the 22 players that were on the pitch at any one time um but I have remained with kual at right back and Wanaka at left back now the reason I’ve gone with that is quite simply that Kell’s come in obviously Emerson had a um a suspension against uh bouth again this is something that concerns me Ben and I’d be quite interested to know your thoughts discipline wise we’ve been shocking this season even the managers picking up yellow cards and getting bans we’re getting we’re getting people missing games for cheap trivial things really um but they’re just rack doing them again and again and again and racking up the the the disciplinary points missing games this that and the other and this could prove critical for our success or failure this season but as far as kou’s concerned I don’t think he did anything wrong quite the reverse I think he had a really good game got forward to good effect yes he probably should have scored that chance that he had in the first half um but you know look he’s a fullback he’s not really sort of someone that you believe is ever going to score um I think if if he’d have had uh six shots at uh President Kennedy back in the 1963 president K Kennedy would have survived but there you go that’s another story um but I would put him at right back I would keep Waker at left back for me Emerson’s just gonna have to wait it’s as simple as that kilman no problem at all mavra Panos mate he’s just he’s got a mistake in Him He he’ll have a game like he did against Bournemouth where he looks good for 85 odd minutes and then he’ll make one critical error and that will be the the difference between success and failure um for me if to Debo’s fit I would play him now I have to stress this isn’t necessarily what I think ly will necessarily pick this is my 11 um so and Alvarez I think they’re a must no problem at all but then the question is how do you replace Carlos cair because for me in the last few games you mentioned we’ve had a a bit of an upsurge in form and performances and results whatever and he has been a part of that and he’s he wasn’t a player that the beginning I thought was any good he’s proved me wrong and he’s now become one of the first names on the team sheet so having him out is a is quite a big loss which um quite interesting to see how LGI goes about replacing him but I would put pet on the left because he played on the left in that game last season at the um the AMX when we beat them 3-1 he played there and he played a key role in that in that win I’d have Cuda Central therefore I’d have Bowen on the right and I’d have the big [ __ ] German up front give him 60 Minutes whatever um and then sort of like maybe change things around and sort of like bring on Somerville you know the legs of the opposition are starting to flag bring on a play player with raw Pace move move the piece of the jigs or around depending upon you know who’s playing well who’s not you could possibly take Peta off and move cudas over to the left or keep him uh keep him Central put Somerville on the right you know you could move things around jigs are around but that would be my starting 11 Ben what about you oh m is a it’s a very difficult one at the moment because like like you say there’s a few players in and out of form a few players that are showing little glimpses so I can definitely see the logic behind your lineup Rob and actually I think your one is probably going to be fairly close to the starting lineup especially Midfield and up front maybe not defensively um now yeah Fabian ski in goal fantastic you know I hear he played really well although I’m in the minority here and I don’t want to upset anyone listen the free kick fantastic free kick it wasn’t in the corner it wasn’t it wasn’t in the top of the goal and his positioning if his positioning was better I reckon he saves it and I think a lot of goalies would save that oh my God it was so far out that unless it’s in the [ __ ] top corner or right in the corner the goalie should save it anyway we move on from that um Rong rongan so fabianski and goal although you know he needs to Buck his ideas up um do you know what Rob I I’m I’m gonna go for the same back four as you um I don’t know what’s going on with too like you say MAV Panos MAV Panos for me he’s still quite young for a center half but I just feel like he’s not he’s not a First Choice Center half he’s a third or fourth choice that can come in and do a job if people are injured but if we’re relying on him like you say I don’t think he’s got the concentration and he does seem fairly slow so I’m hopeful to Debo and uh old mate Bo leru can kiss a make up if they need to cool foul like you say Rob he’s got the shirt at the moment I know a few of the guys are saying mtoa would eat him alive but at the end of the day bulou have got some Lively Wingers and attackers and I don’t think they at him alive you know what I mean so there was a concern last season that when people run at kuo just backs off and that’s why we bought Wanaka but like I’m a Believer in what you’ve said Rob that if you’ve got the shirt and you’ve played well you should keep it so 100% I’d keep wer on the left obviously it was great to see skulls get a run out but you know I think Wanaka should get the nod and not only that Rob um okay if tobo’s out then it probably will beos well as I say according to what I’ve got as I say I said said during you might not have been here Michael I did say that there was a doubt over to Debo this is my 11 this isn’t what this is what I would play if he’s fit I’d play to Debo ahead of maveri Panos anyway carry on Ben and and actually Rob what I think kou brings us if full crew plays up front who I would play kou’s got a good delivery um probably better than Juan Baka if I’m honest I’d say he’s a better Crosser of a ball and that’s why he’s had quite a few assists over the years yeah so I i’ I’d keep with that um in the middle Rob I’m you know obviously I agree with you sol is looking like he’s getting used to the Premier League and he’ll be a lot um so I think it will most likely be that Midfield and up front might be Peta in the middle and cadus out wide um or beit I think Alvarez needs to Buck his ideas up Rob I I’m not really I’m not really seeing too much from him this season other than him being a bit of a liability and picking up bookings and sendings off and I think I actually think Rodriguez when he come on the other week was putting himself about about so I wouldn’t mind seeing Rodriguez replace Alvarez and and look leis offord was on the bench um and and mate I really think this guy’s going to be the future of a Midfield so I’d love to see him get some minutes under his belt but um I think what every this starting lineup is telling me Rob is that you know in January we need I think we need a top quality Center back and um I don’t know who’s out there maybe we’ll do a transfer show on that but we’re look looking we’re looking light at Center half um and we’re looking light up front so we you know we need to address those two areas desperately I think I’d also say that we need a mobile Central mid I don’t think you know I’ve said that Carlos CER has come in and impressed me in the last few games whatever but I think um in terms of having a an energetic box-to-box midfielder we haven’t got one in the sort of like in or around the starting 11 I mean maybe L Orford is that guy I don’t know but it doesn’t seem at the moment that ly believes that he is the guy yet he I don’t know and look it’s a it’s a difficult Balancing Act Rob and and I think I I hope that the reason we brought the light of solah and Rodriguez in is that for a year or two they’ll do and then we’ve got pots and offord to really challenge yeah you know listen I I want us I want us to have a successful team and I want us to have a good team but I also think if you know no one knows for sure but if you’ve got a good indication you’ve got two good young Lads I don’t want to put someone buy and buy someone that blocks their Pathway to the team but look we we we’ll wait and see I think um there’s options but like I say broadly speaking Rob my team would be the same as your George maybe with a couple of couple of tweets here and there like I say Alvarez I need to see a lot more from him yeah he’ll be having a spell on the bench yeah absolutely I to be honest with you mate if if a half decent offer came in in January and the the money would allow we had a ready-made replacement lined up or at least a plan if we knew that say and and I’m just throwing this out there and I don’t know whether this is even feasible but let’s just Suppose there is a Rec claws that we can activate in January in deal of Freddy pots do you know what if we could get at least our our money back there or thereabouts on Edson Alvarez in January I’d move him on and I’d bring in I’d bring Freddy pots back but that’s me I don’t I don’t believe that will happen but if if it if we had a club come in and say uh I don’t know here’s 30 40 million quid for Alvarez um and we’ve got a recall clause on Freddy Parts I’d go you know what [ __ ] it bring Freddy pots back get him in and around the first team squad and we’ll we’ll make do with that uh and maybe spend that 3040 million pounds on getting reinforcements either at Center back Center forward or maybe another Central mid yeah yeah I I think that that’s probably a more likely uh proposition in in the summer um let pots keep doing what he’s doing at psmith um but I think for me Rob just going like going back to F crew um and like say listened to it on the radio it was Danny Murphy doing the commentary and he there was just a couple of little moments that he was like ah full crew you know I think he might have brought the ball down and hit a pass and then obviously he had the header and he was like look within five minutes to comeing on this is what you can see this guy brings to the table that he’s got a physical presence up front that you know Defenders might be trying to barge him but they can’t he’s just too big and too strong so for me for this is the the game f crr has to start get him in get balls in and around the Box get players feeding off him and let’s try and see what this you know the method to how we want to play is now he is fit right uh give us your score prediction Ben how’s this game going to play out um I’m GNA say it is a a 2-1 win to us mate I I I I I’m hopeful that we can get the result and F Krug gets another goal on his um you know first start and let’s just say I think maybe petta will get one as well oh interesting did you hear this about this um what was believed to be a a bit of a cryptic post on his uh Instagram did you hear all the Fallout from that what’s that mate what oh he put something on his Instagram which got people in a little bit of a a pickle about is he trying to say that he’s off and this that and the other and he’s apparently it’s lyrics to a song but I I don’t know I think there’s a bit more to it than they just lyrics to a song I think he’s sort of like he’s he’s I think he’s sort of like saying that he will be off fairly sort of soon I you know circumstances around I don’t know I think he will he will be off in the summer personally um he’s trying to play it down I don’t believe it yeah look man I think um he’s a Brazilian it’s been a long cold winter and um if I was him I’d probably be thinking I would mind [ __ ] off back to Brazil and sitting on the C of Cabana for for the winter and the summer so look mate he’s whether he’s here long term or not he’s been very inconsistent for us Rob like so if he got to move back to Brazil or anywhere but who’s going to buy him with this with with this um with this thing looming we we’re in such a difficult position at the minute you know and and that’s why I know I’ve been quite sympathetic to lgu in that we’ve had the you know this this thing looming over petta we’ve had our Striker out of form and then have a car crash we got a load of new players so look I I just think give give the guy more time and look is is lgu in The Dugout today I mean because I know his old man died I believe so yeah I’m I’m I’m led to believe he’s Been to Spain he’s done and whatever um I don’t know if they’ve actually this this is the thing that confuses me because sort like I heard some reports saying he he went back for the funeral and yet he passed away what Monday Tuesday something like that and I’m like blind me that’s a quick turnaround for a funeral I don’t know if I’ve misread it or whatever but he’s apparently gone to Spain done what he ever he’s needed to do and and he’s apparently he will be in The Dugout this afternoon I personally would have said you know what if he needs more time than that off I think you know as if you’re his line manager um I think you you say look You’ got to do what you got to do family comes first but but I think not only that Rob that shows me that the guy is so desperate to succeed at West Ham that he’s he’s putting on a brave face and he will be in The Dugout so hopefully we can um win the game for L’s dad and um it gives him you know gives him an opportunity to to try and improve on the the very recent slight upturn in Fortune so let’s go for that any other thoughts before we knock it on the head bro no mate just uh well yes I always say no and then I do say something else but um look just hoping for a good performance keep it tight good football but we want to see some goals and let’s let’s get let’s get full grw starting and and and motoring fair enough
