we’re back here again talking about one sto got actually pretty big update here um an Insider works for the new jersey.com covers the Yankees I was on know with the residance at insane asylum today on Saturday on Saturday discussing what’s going on with stto and he said that the Red Sox well there a couple things here’s the first thing um the Yankees have supposedly offered about $550 million now I think and I think most of us think that it’s not going to cut it now with this particular player uh and the money that we’ve been talking about here on this channel and everywhere else that contract is not going to it’s not going to cut it and supposedly this was the second offer so it didn’t even reach what was the first offer I mean what was the first offer with with the Yankees so this is what we learned this past week is the Yankees up their offer but they don’t have the highest offer apparently uh and that the Red Sox are a major player um and I have percentages than thinking matter what Sanz says uh I still believe we’ll get into the Mets so the Mets are still there going to Randy Miller his name is Randy Miller uh works for the and he covers the Yankees so he have pretty good idea of what’s going on um also the Yankees aren’t gonna get a discount just because s to play with them this past year I didn’t think that he he was going to want us going to give them a discount he did not give his original team the Nationals a discount when they offered him 4 $40 million uh two years ago so why would he do that now you know you know what’s so bizarre about this thing with the Red Sox folks the thing with this thing with the Red Sox one and SoDo is they had Mook bets okay mookies had said reportedly that he would have taken the money the 325 million he got from the Dodge to stay with the Red Sox he said he wanted to stay with the Red Sox but the Red Sox didn’t want to offer him any money so a few years later you bringing a guy that that you’re going to double the amount of money that you’re going to give that you would have given uh Muki and he’s a homegrown guy and you know what you’re getting out of him I mean very it’s a very bizarre kind of way to run your you know franchise and they still have the same ownership group even though they had changes within their front office and the manager different uh they still have the same ownership so it’s very bizarre that they were so willing not to give mooki all that money now they’re going to get on soda that money a few years later it doesn’t make any sense and I would mention that the Red Sox got nothing for him they got nothing for uh mooki um basically all those players are gone out they didn’t even in the major leagues maybe somebody might be might be the minors at this point who knows but all those players turned out to be nothing um and they saw mooki win two World Series with the Dodgers now the word is is like he had to go in this tangent the Dodgers I think are probably the third team there’s a third team involved um but like I said you know Randy Miller of new jersey.com said that the Red Sox are there right there he believes there’s three teams in on it he believes the Mets are in on it the Red Sox are in on on the third team I think the their teams’s Dodgers be honest with you or is we’re going to start to call them the taag Dodgers the the luxury tax Dodgers because that’s what they’re started becoming uh they they’re taxing the Dodge dodging the tax that they’ve been sort of you know deferring all this money they don’t want to pay the heavy tax that they would be getting so they just defer the money plus they they keep payroll at at a reasonable level and bring in big players and big players and big players and kick that money down the line with the uh next ownership group that’s going to take over and have to deal with a big mess there at the you know the end of that all those years but where does this leave the Mets if you’re a Mets fan where does this leave the Mets uh I still think the Mets are the favorites because the Mets are willing to go the extra mile Steve Cohen as you know owns the 1986 game six baseball he spend millions of dollars with that baseball long before anybody KN he long before he ever bought the team he has that baseball and why I bring that up is he is willing to go above and beyond to own something and to have something uh he I predicted three years ago the Mets are going to sign Max sherzer and I made a prediction that I was blown before anybody else did uh I made a prediction that they were going to sign him for 110 million he gave him $30 million more than he probably needed to to get the player and you know as you know two years ago two offseasons ago he spent a ton of money bringing all these players back brought Nemo back he brought uh Verlander in he you know resigned Ed spent the ton of money uh this last year didn’t spend any money this year I expect him to spend a lot of money this year uh and really everything’s been hold up to a certain degree the Soto signing now Soo I believe um is going to be looking for the most money word about a week and a half ago two weeks ago whatever it was are the Mets were willing to go and spend an extra $50 million whoever the top offer is so if the Red Sox for instance off $650 million the Mets will give him according to reports $700 million that holy holy crap Batman that’s a lot of money but that’s how this owner looks at this club is he wants to win a World Series you need to leave players to win okay uh it doesn’t matter what the money is I mean I don’t care it’s not my money it’s not my money and really I you have money you don’t have to go to the ballpark you know you want to watch the games you want to listen to the radio this is Radio is pretty much free you want you know plug it in to you you know if you have a or listen to it on your phone whatever but uh so it’s not really our money so I don’t get too worked up if the owner wants to spend a lot of money but you want to win uh this is a winning player he’s won World Series before uh he he does everything really well as his header is he perfect no I would mention people have mentioned to me wow he doesn’t run well myp isn’t run wow he doesn’t like you know he doesn’t steal bases no you be low he you know slow run and still steal bases he’s not a good defensive player well Mike Pano wasn’t either but he can win we saw that this past year helped the Yankees get the World Series and he as a rookie he got the Nationals that’s the World Series to or bount TI there’s nothing really bad about this player he’s a future Hall of Famer if he stays healthy he’s not hit his prime yet 20 he just turned ear 26 he’s not 36 he’s got at least another like he hasn’t entered his prime um he won’t be finishing his prime for another eight years so you have to ask yourself and do you really want to see him going on another team are far away you know go to the Red Sox and I would mention this was something that Randy Miller said and I don’t necessarily believe this I think they’re delusional if they see that they say this but the Yankees are more fearful that he goes to the Red Sox than if he goes to the to the Mets that is shortsighted cuz if he goes to the Mets the whole swing of power in the city shifts from the Bronx to the queens and that hasn’t happened in a long time people going to be going crazy talk about Juan soda going to the Mets that he’s the next the final piece of that puzzle a big piece of the championship puzzle that the Mets are trying to build here and people going say well he didn’t win the Yankees he got into the World Series for all those years Horace was leading the Yankees they didn’t go to the worldy series they went to the worldy series with Soto so that’s that’s what I mean by He Is A Difference Maker he makes your lineup better I’ve talked met for many years on this channel um the Mets needed a number three head okay I never felt that Francisco Lindor was a number three hitter and it proved I Pro they proved me right because it took them until this year to bat HIM lead off he’s a great lead off hit you’ll leave him alone and that’s it he was never in my view a number three hitter but this guy Soo let haven’t had a number three hitter like like this since John ol that’s how good he is that’s how good he is so that’s why it’s very important uh just as a team to bring a player in like him because he will make them at so much better day to that and he never gets hurt always although he got lot Nicks and Bru with the Yankees Yankees deal with all kinds of injuries they always having to fix the you know that hoof that that hoof that uh Horace is always having a problem with but uh I’ll keep you updated so
