let’s do this with Marshall and Wright State we have talked about both of these teams a couple of times already this year right State hosting the game laying five and a half and the total is 152 let’s get it underway with Corby Craig all right you’ve talked about right State before and what Drew you to this to lead the show off on a Wednesday yeah right State new coach new team this uh last year 152 probably seems short in this match up probably get a 162 but that’s not what this year is like we go look at this Marshall team okay how high can you price this Marshall team from a total perspective in market right now we see a 160 when they play Toledo but everybody’s kind of getting a 160 versus Toledo Toledo doesn’t play defense they’re pretty efficient offense um they’re not the fastest in the world but they do score at will bright State notably also got a 160 versus Toledo but then we go look at like any other Marshal G versus a fast team and like what does this betting Market think that we can price him at they played Western Kentucky who is 16th in the nation in Tempo uh and they got a total of 152 I believe opened 153 and a half got steamed down they’re much faster than this R State team uh first off like this right State team what do they do they don’t really get efficient shots 190th in rim and three they don’t really get rebounds they don’t at all get to the free throw line they don’t foul and yet their favorite here so I I think it proves a point where right State doesn’t care to play fast they don’t care to do anything other than get the open look uh and I think that is going to prove worthy in this situation Marshall is one of those teams who like to run like to make teams play at your pace um they’re like 20 I think 22nd in the nation in foul rate like they like to get fouls like to get to the free throw line it’s not going to work here right State 300th in the nation in foul rate they’re not going to foul uh they’re going to play their pace and their pace is an under so to the under 152 uh again if if this is play this is kind of one of those spots where like if it’s played at Marshall’s Pace I think this plays right at 152 uh as a dog I don’t think it does I think it plays more towards right State’s pace which be more close like a 145 even so glad to think that right State’s able to hold their own at home as a favorite here Matt Cox for the Thundering Herd of Marshall uh they gave up 90 at the beginning of the year to Toledo they played Purdue and gave up 80 more in an 80 to 45 uh loss even recently they lost at Western Kentucky giving up 90 their most recent game was a game at North Carolina Wilmington with they lost 7869 thoughts on Marshall thoughts on that line coming into Dayton Ohio tonight to play rght State yeah I kind of thought both side and total were pretty sharp here uh these two programs have played I think the last two or three seasons so there’s some familiarity here um you know right state does have a pretty good home court as well they had a pretty good turnout last game so I think there will be some juice in this building um and I know Marshall this season Corney Jackson their coach not quite as frenetic in terms of pushing the pace as his former boss Dan Danton they still play very fast but I think this is and he said that himself I think this is more of a defensive type of team they have a ton of size up front uh they have some long guards as well and W State while they’re skilled they’re not super athletic so you know maybe you can see right State’s not um offense not working as smoothly not getting as clean looks with Marshall’s positional size across all five positions uh but Tim I think the priz on both side total pretty sharp here um I kind of like what Cory’s going with on the under and I maybe a slight lean to the dog but I was hoping to catch seven if I were going to back the herd um but nothing at five and a half for me all right Corby I need some clarification because you and I both know a lot about right State I’ve worked the Horizon League championship game for the last eight or nine years wri States won it before you mentioned uh Scott naggie the coach has moved on now to Southern Illinois so the star player is Brandon is it no or no because it’s the Christmas season it’s The First Noel but like for the Iowa State Cyclones the the wide receiver spells it the same way but he’s null do we know if it’s Brandon null or if it’s Brandon Noel I don’t know myself but he’s averaging 20 a game and he may be a big factor in this game tonight for right State yeah TJ I can barely spell my own name sometimes so I couldn’t tell you um what I do know is he is a really good basketball player he’s really good at getting the line he’s already shot I I think he’s at almost 80% from the from the free throw strike so like this is a guy who’s 68 trying to get to the line uh the issue is like Marshall’s pretty big team like as Matt talked about like I think that they’re not getting credit for like the scrappiness that they have on this team even when it’s in the half court due to the fact that they have to play usually like a three quarter Court due to Pace like they’ve played a few fast teams this year but I think size versus size like this is going to be a pretty good interesting matchup which if they’re getting to the free throw line it’s going to go over but I just don’t imagine it’s going to all right it’ll be interesting I did see some of the right State game with Oakland um and they were winning that game in the second half conference game suburbs of Detroit and then Oakland came back and beat them and I’m just I’m trying to double check here because I’m listening to something it is null I’m listening to somebody pronounce his name uh on a highlight and so he goes by null not Noel Brandon nol averaging 20 a game and Corby Craig is interested in him getting some points in this one tonight but not too many points he’s interested in the under in this game at the nutter center in Dayton Ohio tonight right stay in Marshall where he will take the under 152 for play number one [Music]
